  We had a small gathering of college classmates, really great vacation cottage, well equipped with most everything, and can easily sleep 8-10 (we only had six). We hope to return in a couple of years. Definitely would stay there again. An easy walk to downtown New Buffalo and the lake front.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  We had a wonderful vacation. The house and pictures did not disappoint. Our family had plenty of space (there were 10 of us), and the house and grounds were VERY well maintained. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there was even extra shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. The house was perfectly situated, within easy walking distance to town with its shops, restaurants, and ice cream places, and to the beach. The guys enjoyed fishing off the jetty, and one morning they rented a charter boat for some salmon fishing. All of the fish was delicious!!! We can't wait to come back again. Thanks for a great time!!

  Our family just vacationed in New Buffalo and we absolutely loved this cottage. Walking distance to town and the beach, we found the location to be ideal. So tastefully decorated, we felt as if we were in our home! Everything was up-to-date and we definitely will stay here in the near future!

  We spent a week in New Buffalo. The cottage, which is really a house, is just perfect and has all the amentities that you will need. The kitchen has granite countertops and a big island. We enjoyed the living space on the first floor with the open floor plan. The front porch is right off the dining area. We used the gas grill on the back porch which was very convenient. We did cook a few times and there were enough kitchen items to choose from. The decor of the cottage is tastefully done and we loved all the sinks in the bathrooms, especially in the half bath on the first level. The cottage provides you with beach chairs and towels which is great. There is a hot tub and 2 bikes that are shared with the cottage next door. We used the hot tub nightly and our children went for bike rides. The city is quaint and friendly. There are stores, restaurants and a few art galleries all within walking distance in town. We ate at Brewsters, Pierre Anne, Stray Dog and Redamacks. They were all very good. Take a ride to the Warren State Dunes, it's great hiking and on the way back stop at the wineries, you will not be disappointed. In Michigan City there is a small zoo, the Shoreline Brewery, the Blue Chip Casino and some Outlet Stores. Thank you Howard for sharing your home with us, we had a great time. Your house is beautiful and we really enjoyed the vacation with our family. We hope to return next year, and bring more additional family to rent the cottage next door.

  Spent 6 nights at this house. Loved it! This is our 3rd visit to New Buffalo. Each place we rent gets better and better. This is a LARGE cottage. We are a family of 4 so we didn’t even use the 3rd floor. The basement was a perfect hangout for our older teenage boys. Ping pong, pool table, big screen TV that they hooked their game system to. One slept on the sofa and one in the bedroom. The details and amenities of this house are wonderful. The finishes are high end…wood detailing, sinks, granite, wood flooring, etc! We had a bon fire 2 nights which was a nice extra. The bikes were great as it gave us a different view of New Buffalo….found places we had never seen before. But walking to everything is easy. One block to Barneys grocery store, 2 blocks to main street (Whitaker) where you will find everything, and 2 blocks to Redamaks. A really good Mexican restauant is right behind the houses across the street. Large yard for the kids to play catch. Hot tub is actually next door so that was kinds weird but where it’s situated they can’t see you, plus the 2 house are very close to each other so it’s right there. Used the beach chairs which also were a great plus. LOVED the beach entrance room….kept the rest of the house clean as we could leave all our beach gear, shoes, souvenirs, etc in that room. Plenty of kitchen essentials to cook your meals if you choose. Our favs…Redamaks, Stray Dog, Rosies, Roma’s Pizza, Sweetwaters store for everything!, take a ride out to St. Joseph and stop at a roadside park to eat lunch (the views are amazing!), the beach…of course!!!, and gotta watch the sunset over the lake!   This place was great - the floor plan was super. Kids had space - we had space - close to everything. Walked to the beach, dinner and shopping plus the train station. Place was clean wtih a great layout. Would totally recommend this cottage. Only draw back - we are big cooks - kitchen did not have a lot of tools or resources. We usually bring our own knives and essentials . . . but the place could use some serving ustensils. The K Family.

  We just returned from our family vacation spent in your lovely home. The place was darling. Very clean and well maintained. It had a comfortable cottage like feel yet still modern. Our grandsons had a blast. The very first night they claimed the loft area for themselves. Their DVD player, the blankets off their beds and they were all set. Our son-laws and my husband enjoyed some friendly competion playing pool and Ping-Pong. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious enough for both my daughters and I to work together on our favorite recipes. The backyard was so large, that we were able to play Frisbee with our pooch. By the way he was in heaven! One evening we even made S’mores in the fire pit, and sang old camp songs.(to the chagrin of our grandsons) The house was nicely located, close to the downtown area and only 10 minutes to the beach. We tried a couple of restaurants and would recommend Stray Dog and Redamaks. Both are family friendly. Thank you for the lovely vacation. We appreciate that you were very easy to comunicate with, from begining to end. We hope to return soon.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. Two families, with two toddlers and a dog--plenty of room to play and relax. The location is amazing--2 blocks to the main street, 1 block to a fantastic grocery store-10 min. walk to the beach--just perfect. We cannot wait to stay here again and have already recommended it to two other friends looking for a spacious cottage getaway.

  My family just returned yesterday from a 4 night stay at this cottage and we are already trying to figure out when we can go back. What a wonderful stay! It was less than a 2 hour drive from Plainfield, IL and close to everything in town. We booked New Buffalo for it's close distance as well as it's feel of still being a getaway. This house was everything we hoped for and more. Beautifully decorated with plenty of space. We packed light and found everything we needed at the house or in town re: groceries. The huge yard area came in handy for our small dog to run around and our young son to play in. We throughly enjoyed ourselves...peaceful nights relaxing on the front porch after our son went to bed, late night card games & fun in the basement area, breakfast every morning in the kitchen/dining area, walking distance to restaurants such as Redamak's & The Stray Dog and the best chocolate & coconut ice cream at Nancy's. We grilled out one night with fresh cut steaks from the butcher at Barney's fresh market located around the corner. We enjoyed walking the streets of Whittaker & Buffalo for shopping and views of the marina heading up Whittaker can put a smile on anyone's face. We took our son to the beach to get his toes in the sand for the first time and he didn't want to leave. I am very grateful to have found this home and the memories it allowed us to have for our son's first trip to the beach. As the review title suggests...we are already considering a return trip, sooner than later. Thank you for opening your home to us and making our vacation one to remember!

  We had a wonderful time-4 adults and 4 children in this house for a long weekend. It was in a great location, close to town, not too far from the beach. The house looked exactly like the photos. There was plenty of space for all of us. The Amtrak train does go by at various times throughout the day, but we would still go back to this house again. Definitely recommend it.
