Great for a family with kids

We had a great stay here. All the beds were comfortable, the house super-clean, and everything promised in the listing was just as described. Wish there was a King bed, but you can't have everything. We would definitely recommend this home to others with kids who love to fish and for water-sports enthusiasts. A couple of small things broke (paddleboat pedals, kitchen water purifier) and although the owner couldn't get them fixed while we were there, he was quick to respond and he did make a sincere effort to get the items fixed. We ran out of toilet paper but again, it was resolved quickly. Nice little country store just down the road for snacks and movie rentals. The Gilmore car museum was really cool. Nice neighbors with kids. The lake is beautiful, the docks are perfect for fishing and docking our ski boat. The on-lake marinas were a life saver as we had boat trouble and they sent a mechanic out on a jet-ski in under an hour and their bill was super reasonable - awesome.

Charles and Christina/& Guests

Well Harvey and Connie, you have done a fabulous job prepping this cottage for guests and renters! We were delighted with the beautiful views from inside the home as well as on the upper deck! The inside is bright and cozy, clean to my picky standards, well maintained, has really good energy, plenty of room, stocked with all one might need for cooking as well as relaxing which was our specialty! But of course there were those days we actually felt like cooking or being cooked for/both?! Yep both things were enjoyed and helped save $ by not having to go out for dinner each night! Thank you Connie for thinking of all those little things that a guest might need but forget! Rarely in our travels have we found such lovingly touched, consideration and thought out preparation. We were impressed, from the interesting cookbooks to the most private little reading nook and beyond. In trying to conserve energy I have taught myself over the years to turn off lights when not in use right, like most of us ,I presume? Anyway ,I kept going into a room and finding it so airy and bright that I would reach for the switch to turn off the light cause no-one was in the room,to my surprise I had been trying to turn off the skylights! It got quite the laugh from the other guests untill it happenened to them. Ha! The skylights are in the most perfect places they add a real nice touch but you can't turn off mother nature eh? Another thing great about this place is that the furniture is nice, comfortable, well made and stylish. Alot of people that rent seem to have less quality furniture than we found here. We understand because it is probably risky to let renters enjoy nice stuff on vacation. But I for one appreciated this very much,it added to my comfort level. I hope that you are able to keep it that way. The lake is beautiful! All four of us agree that it has beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and is great for fishing ,boating and water sports. We also agree that its not the perfect lake for swimming right off shore! It's kinda mucky and plantlife abounds very near shore to quite away out. Harvey has areas that he has de-weeded but it is rough to keep up with. Three sides of the floating raft were pretty clear. We understand that there is a nice sandbar out a ways but did not have the chance to visit it.That is our only disappointment. All in all I do not see how you could go to Connie and Harvey's cottage and not enjoy yourself! We do hope to be able to return.Thank you both again very much!
