Relax on Ono Island, a gated community near Gulf Shores, Alabama and Perdido Key, Florida.
This is the perfect place for a getaway with a gorgeous view of the bay (as opposed to a canal). Dine on the deck or watch for dolphins from the deck or pier. Fish from our pier, the beach, or on a deep-sea fishing vessel. Bring or rent your own boat, jet ski, sailboat or kayak as our bay is ideal for all water sports including swimming. Play tennis, or jog and bike on the Island paths. Take a brief drive to an Alabama or Florida crystal white beach-front park or a few miles further to the National Seashore. Visit local natural areas for wildlife watching. Feast on fresh seafood from nearby markets or restaurants. Or simply relax at our oasis and go nowhere at all!
All South facing rooms, including the great room have full window fronts for viewing the water. Three bedrooms and two baths are on the main floor. The fourth bedroom is at ground level with a private entrance and it's own bath, TV, phone and mini-fridge. Two of the bedrooms (1 up and 1 down) have twin beds which easily convert to kings with mattress-connector strips. Our laundry room has a second refrigerator to provide extra space for beverages, etc. We also have an outdoor hydraulic lift for use upon request for those who are physically unable to climb the stairs.
We prefer calm renters. No heavy partiers, please!

- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: Responsible party must be at least 25 years old. We will have anyone who violates this rule removed from the premises without refund.

Why the Owner Chose Ono Island
Our parents knew that the small city of Gulf Shores would be changed forever after Hurricane Frederick, so the peacefulness of Ono Island seemed a great alternative to the high-rise world we knew was coming to the beach. And our folks chose our lot in particular because it is across from a Florida State Park, so we retain a view of an undeveloped area.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love our bay view and dolphin visitors so very much and therefore spend a great deal of time on the deck just soaking up the scenery. We enjoy fishing, swimming and boating from our home and love going to the gorgeous nearby state parks for beach walking. Our location also makes it easy for us to get to excellent restaurants in both Alabama and Florida.

We are a family who grew up in Cullman Alabama, and now live in Nashville and New Orleans. For many years we vacationed annually at a dear friend's home on the beach at Gulf Shores. Our father bought a small house in Gulf Shores in 1975, but relocated to build on Ono Island in 1980 after losing our Gulf Shores house to Hurricane Frederick.
