NEWLY REDECORATED HOME near two beaches, one private and one tourist beach.
Accommodations: 4-6 bedroom house with 3 new full bathrooms (sleeps 9-13)all with room air conditioners and remote controlled color TV's. Charming well-landscaped colonial house within walking distance to two beaches. New kitchen, 3 bathrooms with newly tiled floor, wood cabinets and tub/shower. Dining room with hardwood floors that opens onto large deck and beautiful enclosed gardens. Carpeted living room with flatscreen TV. Playroom with adjacent washer/dryer.
The first floor has full kitchen, dining room, living room, new full bath and two bedrooms with hardwood floors, lots of light and set of two double/queen size beds.
2nd floor has oversized master bedroom with brand new king size bed. Resort style bathroom with two-person jacuzzi tub and separate multi-head shower. A smaller room inside the master can be used for an infant or young child's separate bedroom. Master opens to large sitting room. There is also another bedroom upstairs with queen size bed.
Lower level has two rooms that can sleep another 4-6 people. There is also a modern full bath for these guests to share. If not needed for sleeping, this wonderful space can be a playroom for young ones to escape the adult world happening upstairs. Your new washer and dryer can also be found in the lower level.
There are many things to do and see in Southeastern Connecticut. A few blocks away you'll find Ocean Beach Park which features a waterpark, mini-golf, an arcade and daily exciting activities. As our guest, you'll have a free beach pass to let you in as often as you'd like! We have two fabulous resort/casinos nearby. Mohegan Sun, the 2nd largest resort/casino in the world is only a 15 minute drive and Foxwoods/MGM the largest in the world is only 30 minutes away. Mystic, a quaint little village that holds Mystic Seaport & Museum, Mystic Aquarium, Olde Mystic Village (great shopping) and some wonderful restaurants is only 15 minutes away. If you want to visit our US Navy Submarine Museum, that's only 15 minutes away as well.
Choose to make New London your stay and Boston is just 2 hours North and New York City is only 2 1/2 hours to your south (save yourself some drive time and catch a train to either location right in the heart of downtown New London....a great way to see the countryside). Or catch a ferry to Block Island or Orient Point Long Island for the day.

Why the Owner Chose New London
We purchased this beautiful home and have had loads of fun renovating and decorating it. We enjoy vacationing ourselves here when, as rare as it is, we don't have visitors. The walk to the beach anytime of the year is always relaxing and reminds us why we moved here in the first place.

The proximity to Ocean Beach Park with all the family friendly events they produce here makes it the perfect vacation home. And, of course, for "adult play", the proximity to the two largest casinos in the world can't be beat!

My husband and I own Daniel's Dairy Downtown, a wonderful ice cream shoppe on Bank Street. We own two loving shih tzu's, Patch & Pumpkin who are the loves of our lives...next to each other of course! We love New London and the Southeastern shoreline of Connecticut and enjoy sharing are little part of the world with new friends.

Thanksgiving On The East Coast

My wife and I decided to travel east for Thanksgiving to be with our son who attends college in Boston. This property suited our needs with it's many bedrooms, centrally located between Boston and New York, and reasonably priced. Our son had two friends join him and we enjoyed cooking, walking on the beach and just hanging out catching up on his school year. We took a day trip to New York on the train which was really easy from the Amtrak station in New London. This property is great for large groups, is easy to get to, in a nice neighborhood and close to the beach. Our only concern is a failure to return our security deposit and no response to our emails : (

Dear Suzanne & Dan, Our East coast family reunion was wonderful at your house. It easily accommodated our 3 families and the proximity to Ocean Beach Park, Block Island, Mystic activities and shoreline restaurants provided activities and entertainment for all. It was a wonderful 2 weeks!

Suzanne, I am not sure whether I have emailed you about the weekend we spent in your house or whether I have just thought about doing it – life is so fast-paced that I can’t keep up with myself. If I haven’t, let me thank you sincerely. The house was stocked with everything we needed to enjoy the family being together. I really think it was the perfect location for us and we appreciated it. It was comfortable and in a wonderful location for our travel back and forth to the Academy. We loved reading other people’s comments in the journal book. Hope to meet you at some point in the future – greetings from Texas.

The New London property was located in a very nice neigborhood and only minutes from the beach. The home fit our needs, there were 6 adults and 2 little ones, plus a dog. The only concern we had was the amount of food items left in the refrig and draws from other renters. Upon our arrival there were small food ants in the bread draw and on the counter around the sink. We found the location to be great! Easy access to beach, Mystic area and many other sites and places to eat. We did utilize the grill and deck a great deal. My big concern after almost two months from our stay is not receiving our initial deposit back. From a business practice this is unacceptable. Hopefully it will be corrected???!!!
Owner response:We are happy you enjoyed the vacation home. Past renters have been thrilled to have many items that they needed already in the fridge and cabinets that saved them $ on items that didn't have to purchase ie condiments, wine, ice cream, etc. Surprised to hear about ants, especially after the home is cleaned within 3 hours of new guests arriving. As for security deposit, there was a mistake in the mailing and the check was returned. It was replaced as soon as we received it back. Thanks for the response and the comments.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving week together in New London. We took lots of walks around the beautiful neighborhoods and had the opportunity to visit with friends in the area. Thanks for Everything!

Dear Suzanne, We were sorry that we didn't get to talk before we left New London yesterday. What a wonderful week we had. The house was perfect for our family and the weather was just what the doctor ordered. We had a great time - the beach is wonderful. We did our touristy things in the morning and were at the beach every afternoon. Then the kids had a ritual every evening after dinner. They all walked to the beach and walked to a lagoon where there were crabs. They had such fun and Al and I had some quiet time while they were gone. Al and I enjoyed our dinner at On The Waterfront that first night. Thanks for the suggestion. After that we ate all our meals oujt on the deck. The kids all had to leave Friday morning. We were going to stay ujntil Saturday, but the house seemed so empty after they left that we decided to leave also. A good time was held by all. The one disappointment was that we never found Daniel's Dairy. We did see an ice cream shop at 60 Banks St. when we were out walking but it wasn't open at that time. It was a pleasure meeting you.
