We had a wonderful time at your cottage. We enjoyed cooking our Thanksgiving dinner in your well-stocked kitchen, eating at the big dining room table, sitting on the porch and walking through the beautiful area surrounding the cottage. My mom was able to get around in her wheelchair with no problems at all. Thanks be so easy to work with and for making everything so comfortable.

My sisters, mother, and I rented this cottage for an early Christmas party. My mother fell twice prior to our arrival and we were forced to bring her on the trip in a wheel chair. The electric wheel chair lift made this so easy for us. Also, the cottage is set up for wheel chair access. This cottage was so lovely. We were celebrating Christmas as I mentioned and picked a weekend where we were able to see some snow flurries so we had a white Christmas. The cottage was well stocked with all of the linens and kitchen supplies you would have at home. We will most definitely rent this cottage again.

The cottage worked well for us. Our daughter was able to get everywhere downstairs. I loved the bi-fold doors on the downstairs bath. They really did make more room. We moved a couple items to make path of travel easier. The huge wrap-around porch was such a blessing. We got our daughter down to the fire pit one night in her manual chair. She doesn't like her manual chair, so she spent the other nights on that side of the porch. We had a fire and S'mores every night. The boys did the shooting range, and we spent a lot of time in downtown Brevard. It was a great get-away!

What a charming home away from home! We loved the natural beauty of the surroundings and the clean, home. We took a tour of the waterfalls and that was also spectacular. My only slightly negative comment would be that there are too many beds in the third bedroom upstairs - it looks a little cramped. Had we had more people with us - there were three of us - it might have been a little hard to manage with the two baths. Overall, a super experience! We certainly plan to come back!
Owner response:There were only 3 persons during this review. The upstairs bedroom has bunkbeds and double beds. We try to accommodate a variety of guest; couples to family reunions. There is plenty room for sleeping. The huge porch, outside area with games, and dinning room table that seats up to 16. We thank our guest for their comments.

Love, love, love the Blue Arrow Cottage. Comfortable, well appointed, clean in a magnificent natural setting. Easy drive to Brevard and state parks featuring majestic waterfalls! We went to the Brevard arts festival, heard wonderful blue grass music, hiked and picnicked and sat by the fire pit at night. Tranquil and lovely. I highly recommend taking a respite at Blue Arrow Cottage! Would make a lovely romantic getaway for a loving couple, but my five-year old granddaughter had a blast too!

My family gathered at the Blue Arrow Cottage for a long Father's Day Celebration. We were all pleaseantly surprised at how beautifully decorated the cottage was, and with 12 of us being there, we had plenty of room. There were lots of games/dvds/toys for my children and niece & nephew to play with. No one ever got bored! With all the personal touches you felt as though you were visiting friends instead of renting a cottage. It was nice & private, yet close enough to lots of activities in the area. We visited Sliding Rock, The Cradle of Forestry, and Looking Glass Falls. All of it was so beautiful!

When a schedule change threw a wrench in our Easter vacation plans the owners of this lovely cottage were very helpful with a last minute substitution. We could not have been happier with our time at the Blue Arrow. The comfortable country antique decor was lovely. The location is close enough to civilization but still private and remote. Our family enjoyed playing board games in the large family room and closed out every evening roasting marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit. The sleeping accommodations were very comfy and suited this family of five very well. We will definitely be returning to the Blue Arrow in the future and recommend it to any family needing to get away and reconnect.

We really enjoyed our stay the week after Christmas 2009. The cottage is lovely and more than adequate. The property is very nice...snow kept us from hiking close by other than on the drive and road in but we did enjoy this. There are some beautiful views within walking distance of the cottage. The kids loved the snow. The privacy here is a plus also...quiet and peaceful. We would engourage others to stay here. We had a great time and look forward to coming again.

A beautiful place to stay in December with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Enjoyed the solitude of the woods in a cottage that fit here. Beautifully decorated with an eye to the woodsy setting and attention to the smallest comfort and aesthetic details. We even rocked on the wrap-around porch with temperatures in the low 20s. Enjoyed reading in the homey living room at night. Explored the area, enjoying hiking, music, and people. We look to returning to the area and the Blue Arrow Cottage.

We love the secluded and peaceful area and your home is very cozy and homey. We had beautiful weather and were able to hike to Looking Glass Rock as well as drive to the Smokies to see some Elk. Thank you for helping to make our 5th Wedding Anniversary memorable. We'll certainly be in touch if we're coming to the area again.

It was our 28th Anniversary, in the hottest part of August, and we were looking for a get-away. It was a great excuse to find a place to relax, let the tension and stress of the work-a-day world slide away, and pay attention to nature and each other. Being friends with Mary and Randy, we were aware of the cabin near Boone, and fortunately, it was available! We made arrangements and were excited at the prospect of a quiet weekend. Just the two of us . . . So, we are on our way, meeting up with two of Claudia’s sisters and their spouses – I know, but the alone part after 28 years? – for a visit. The cabin was about halfway between Roxboro, NC and Chattanooga, TN, where our families are, and when we realized that the facilities were more than adequate for a little reunion, decided to have some of the Family join us. And it was great! The huge wrap-around porch was a great place to sit and get cool in the mountain air in the day, and to turn out the lights and night to contemplate the stars . . . with or without adult beverages! There were many activities within an easy drive; Boone and other smaller towns, attractions such as Grandfather Mountain and other hiking and natural areas. There was a good selection of Restaurants, from rustic to elegant, and varieties of fare, from haute cuisine to bar-b-que. There were shops and crafts, and, since my sister-in-law Liz was with us, one of the world’s largest discount shoe stores. The cabin was spacious and comfortable, and the motif was pleasant and definitely suited to the area. We look forward to our next visit, perhaps with family or friends . . . and maybe, even, ‘just the two of us’! Harry and Claudia Erwin Roxboro, NC

We had a wonderful few days at Blue Arrow Cottage. The location is fabulous - so secluded yet confenient to Brevard and Rosman. The first morning I walked onto the porch and stood in awe as I watched the gorgeous hardwoods sway in the wind. The dapples light making its way through the treetops - such peace. The house had everything we needed and more. I would recommend it to anyone!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Arrow Cottage. The location was perfect for exploring the trails and waterfalls in the area. It was wonderful to spend the cool evenings rocking on the porch listening to the silence of nature. It is very secluded, yet close to downtown Rosman and Brevard. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Thanks to Mary and Randy for giving us some great memories!
