Everyone loves the cabin!
San Juan Chalet Cabin is located just 1.5 blocks from main street. So you can walk to everything in Ouray even the Hot Springs! San Juan Chalet Cabin has wonderful mountain views and a nice private yard surrounded by Lilac and Aspen trees. The Lilacs bloom in late May and early June. Our 'Cabin' is a favorite among return guests. It has an open field to the south and The Secret Garden B&B is directly to the west. We have a picnic table and grill so you can enjoy your meals outside and soak in the beautiful mountain scenery. We also have 2 King hotel style rooms on site if you have a bigger group. If you are traveling with young kids we have plenty of strollers and kid backpack carriers if you need to borrow one. We also run San Juan Mountain Guides so we know the area really well and would be happy to set up an adventure for you or give advice on where to go and what to do.

It isn't big, and it isn't fancy, but it is neat, clean, quiet (not a sound at night but moving water) and close to town, equipped with what you need if you want to cook as we did part of the time. Three of us stayed in the cabin, with our 18 year old daughter on the fold out futon, where she was comfortable. The bed was a king and very comfortable in the private bedroom. The owners were there on property but left us alone, but provided everything we needed (extra TP, paper towels, etc). Affordable, located where you want to be with privacy and comfort. What more do you need? PS, our two dogs loved it too!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We were looking for a spectacular and peaceful getaway for a few days to de-stress and relax. Doing web surfing and research finally finding the "San Juan Chalet" got our attention. We were very surprised with the room and views from the deck and taken back by the peaceful surroundings. Having all of the comforts of home without the normal day to day stress was very enjoyable. Ryan was without a doubt the hostess with the most... not kidding! She made us feel very welcome immediately and catered to all of our needs and concerns. Her place was very neat and clean. The access to Ouray and the surrounding area was a piece of cake... The drive to and from the cabin was relaxing, enjoyable and beautiful. We highly recommend Ryan and her cabin in the clouds....Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Kathleen! So glad you enjoyed your stay in the Upper King room!

We took a quick weekend getaway to Ouray and were pleased with the San Juan Chalet. We stayed in the lower room, which has ample space and was very clean. The king size bed was very comfortable. It's just a little way from the main street, but was quiet and just far enough away from the busier areas of town. Ryan is a friendly host and right on top of things. We will stay here again in the future. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

The cabin was ideal for my wife, daughter and I. It was small yet, laid out nicely, very clean and adequately stocked. It,s location allows for easy walking to the downtown area as well as the hot springs pool. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Ryan for a great stay!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This place amazed us. We stayed in the cabin for 4 days and even though it is in the middle of the town we felt like we were in the forest. You are walking distance to anything in Ouray including the Hot Springs. The only time we drove was to go on a 4x4 trail which is also amazing in this area. Everything is clean and up to date in the cabin. A spacious and comfortable place to stay. Book here before you try anywhere else, it is cheaper and way better then any hotel or B&B we saw in town.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Mike! Glad y'all had a great time in Ouray!

We stayed in the upstairs king room for three nights and it was perfect. The room was so clean and so spacious. The view from the balcony is amazing and it is so close to downtown you can walk easily to everything. We had such a great time in Ouray and riding ATVs in the mountains, we cannot wait to return. I would highly recommend the San Juan Chalet, so much better than a hotel room. Thank you Ryan for providing us with a charming place to stay we hope to return soon!! Owner response: Thanks Janice! Hope to see y'all again next year!

I rented the San Juan Chalet Cabin in Ouray for a month (Feb 2011). It was perfect for what I needed. Whether ice climbing or skiing in the winter, or hiking and/or Biking in the summer, the location is right in the middle of everything. It's a beautiful setting and a short walk to great coffee, handmade chocolates, or a Hot Springs soak. The cabin offers a comfy bed, a full mini kitchen, cable TV and internet access. It is quiet, private and serene, yet it is also down home enough that you don't feel uncomfortable bringing your messy gear through the door. Additionally, the owners are friendly, kind, and helpful. Overall, I had a great experience and plan to rent it again when I return to Ouray.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Cindy! We look forward to having you again! Have a great Summer!
