Wonderful Family Vacation!
Wonderful Family Vacation!
What a great place for a family vacation. Our boys, 13 & 11 loved it! They were fishing and crabbing when they weren’t in a kayak or one of the other boats. There was plenty to do if you wanted or you could just relax and enjoy the quiet. The fishing and crabbing was good as we never sat too long. We caught a lot of drum, sea trout, a couple of skates and about 2-1/2 dozen crabs. Over all, the house was very comfortable with everything you could want. The addition of the game room and rooms in the garage was great. It provided another escape with lots of entertainment. Our ping pong tournaments were very competitive! The house is located in a remote area. The owners have provided information on the area, local shops and sites to see. For us, it was perfect.

If your looking for a real escape from the crowded shore experience, then I would recommend you rent this home. Me and my wife stayed for a week and had a great time catching crabs (over 60 keepers),fishing (many small croakers, spot and puppy drum from the dock),plus some sea trout over 20" ,sharks and rays.Home comes with four water craft and a dock shed that has every kind of crabbing supplies you will need. Main house sits high above the water with a large deck so you can view nature, ospreys are as common as seagulls and we would see one or two bald eagles a day plus blue herons or you can just keep a eye on your kids.House is very clean with many kid and adult games in case it rains. This rental makes our top three out of about twenty we rented the past seven years. Thanks again Herb and Tina for a great vacation.

Quail walk was the perfect getaway for us. This was a relaxing reunion for ten friends and family. Dogs had a great time too. The 2 houses on the property gave us all the space we needed while the deck on the main house provided us a place to gather and reminisce. All beds very comfortable, plenty of beds and bathrooms. Linens exceptional! Kitchen well stocked. The town of Onancock quaint and charming. We enjoyed the kayaks, crabbing, and naps on the hammocks. Tina was the ultimate hostess always interested in our comfort. We are already pre-booking for next year!

Owner response: Thank you for your kind words. We are delighted that all of you had such a good week together. We love the house and property and want our "guests" to have the getaway vacation we all seem to need. It is a place of peace and quiet. The only constant sounds are birdsongs, chattering gulls, and the lapping of water on the shore.

We rented this property for a week in August 2011. We were looking for a place that could accomodate our family (10 adults), offer plenty to see and do, and be quiet and relaxing. Quail Walk was amazing; we couldn't have had a better vacation! The owners, were fantastic; they emailed us with so much information prior to our trip and were available via phone throughout the duration of our stay. By the time we left, I felt like we were good friends (even though we had never met!). The comfort of this home is unparallelled. So many rental properties are outfitted with just the bare minimum; not so here! When they say linens included, they mean sheets, bath towels, beach towels, etc, etc, and this just one example... We loved the hammocks, the crab traps, and the kayaks, which we used on a daily basis. Quail walk was far enough off the beaten track (20 minutes off 13) to be peaceful, but close enough to towns and sights that we were never bored. We enjoyed the local wineries, bay beaches in Cape Charles, ocean beach in Assateaque, quaint towns like Onancock, and fishing out of Willis Wharf. We all wish we had had a few more days to continue to explore, plus a few more after that to just relax! We would recommend this property highly, especially to people looking for a relaxing week away from just about everything!
