During the weekend of September 18 my friends and I stayed at Quail Walk. What a wonderful and relaxing retreat. The owner was very helpful providing us with information about the house, town, local activities and site seeing. The water views from the deck and dock were breathtaking. We enjoyed the spectacular sunrises over the water, seeing various birds (heron, kingfisher, loon, seagulls, and bald eagle), kayaking, crabbing, spending time on the large deck, and seeing brilliant stars at night. The surrounding area also has many site seeing opportunities. The house was very well equipped and comfortable. Spending time with good friends is always wonderful but in the setting of Quail Walk it was priceless. I would definitely stay again at Quail Walk and feel it is a great place for couples, families, and good friends. Pat

    • What an incredible property. We picked this location for a mini honeymoon after getting married at Bay Creek in Cape Charles. We were looking for private, secluded, outdoorsy, and a decent dock. It exceeded all of our expectations. The wife drove, and I ran our center console on the 20 mile northward journey from Bay Creek. For those skeptics, there truly is 5-6' MLW at the dock, running water, and plenty of pilings to accommodate a larger boat. I did not see shore power. The dock and creek is teeming with life. We were able to catch about 8-12 crabs every day without hardly trying, as well as Rockfish. PLENTY of live bunker to be caught by boat or off the dock if you can throw a castnet. Great bait for the two owner provided crabpots, or for those looking to live bait for flounder in the bay. As far as the house, don't go expecting a gaudy monstrosity like on the Outer Banks or some other tourist destination. That is not what this about. The cottage is durable, cozy, quaint, rustic, and very well appointed. One of the benefits of not going through a rental company is that the house was equipped with so many basic staples when we arrived. (Condiments, detergent, soap, Old Bay, Olive Oil, etc...) This was very refreshing, and we left a number of useful items behind for others as well. Some cleaning company does not come in and wipe out and waste everything when people check out. Randall is a caring host, and it is nice to be reminded that people and places like this still exist.

    • The house, deck, dock, beautiful scenery & nature made for a much needed relaxing vacation. We did alot of crabbing/fishing, visited all the local towns/restaurants, went to a local carnival, spent a day at both Virginia & Assateague Island Beaches, went on a fishing trip, and enjoyed each other's company. Thank you to our host for letting us experience the Eastern Shores at Quail Walk. We had a wonderful time!

    • This was a great place to escape from our hectic city lives. It provided a perfect setting to relax and enjoy peace, quiet and nature while fishing/crabbing, kayaking and grilling. The house is very well-equipped, containing plenty of pretty much everything we needed. We really liked the unique structure and layout as well - especially the large deck as that is where we spent most of our time when at the house. Owner is very attentive and a great host.

    • Our vacation was a very relaxing one filled with many memories. The deck was great from sunrise to sunset and then some. The dock provided us with many hours of fishing, crabbing and watching nature. The stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes we made with the crabs we caught were delicious. Kayaking around the pristine area was awesome. Randall is a most gracious owner who provided us with much information about the Eastern Shores and the local area. A return trip is a must for us.
