  This condo was well represented by the photos and descripition on VRBO.com. This condo was perfect for us, with a 5 star view of the ocean, and just steps to the beach from the lani. We found our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. I was worried that being on the ground level would have been a disadvantage, but I really think it is one of the better locations as you have beautifully manicured lawns and gardens a step away from your lani. This made our vacation with a 10 month old perfect, as he had somewhere to crawl around safely. Also, it's located on the opposite side of the building from the pool, restaurant and shuffleboard, so it is very quiet and peaceful. The condo was clean and comfortable. It is a little outdated, but well kept, and everything was provided that we needed including a roll of paper towel, toilet paper, starter soaps, and fantastic extras such as beach chairs, grass mats, and even a coffee grinder. It doesn't have AC which is fine 80% of the time. The condo does get a great cross breeze which cools things off, and it doesn't get direct hot afternoon sunlight. There are ceiling fans and extra fans provided in each room which were needed. (We are from Canada and used to very cool sleeping conditions.) The manager, Hope, was fantastic, providing me with an extra cooking pot I needed for preparing my son's formula. We spent a lot of time at our condo and did venture down to the Luau at the Grand Wailea hotel, Lahaina, and did the Road to Hana. Overall, fantastic trip and we look forward to staying here again.

We plan to update our second bedroom furniture, replace a couple chairs in the living room and remodel the molding of the kitchen counter. We are always striving to reach for excellence to satisfy our guests. Since we live just 10 minutes away, we give this wonderful oceanfront condo so much more attention than the majority of condo owners who live on the mainland and use a big company to manage it. We're glad you want to return to our condo.

  My husband and I decided to take a trip to Maui for our 10yr wedding anniversary. We were travelling with friends so we were two couples in the condo. The condo was very well stocked; from kitchen gadgets to cleaning supplies to beach chairs. Hope was our contact and she was very helpful. She was available to us prior to arriving to answer questions we had and she checked in on us through out our 2wk stay to make sure we were enjoying our visit. She even dropped off treats for us to sample!! Maui in general was quite spectacular but the location of our condo felt central to alot of the places we wanted to visit and being 20min away from Costco was a huge plus. We loved being on the main floor and having such immediate access to the beach. Although the snorkeling wasn't great in this area we certainly enjoyed swimming here. The snorkeling was AMAZING in alot of places we visited; old airport beach, Ahi Ahi to name a couple. I had read that we may find this area had seaweed but in the two weeks we were there I did not see any along this beach. The whales performed for us regularly and the sunsets were gorgeous. We did not miss having airconditioning either...it is true what they say about the trade winds. Although the condo is not the most modern it is clean and very comfortable; we traded rooms half way thru and no one had any issues with either bed. I enjoyed the seperation of the rooms also; it allowed each couple a degree of privacy. I am already hoping and dreaming of returning not only to Maui but also to this exact condo. In my opinion it is the best location at this property. Everything you read on this listing is true, in fact when we counted out the steps to the beach we had fewer! Maybe we just have long legs!! Thank you Michael, Barbara and Hope for everything!

  A beautiful view to wake-up to and go-to-bed. The ocean views and sunsets are exceptional from the ground level patio. Very comfortable and enjoyable location to spend our visit to Maui. Thanks

  This property is everything it states and more. It is an above average condo from my experience with an outstanding view and lovely beach at your footsteps. You can get a similar view in Wailea but at a much higher nightly cost . The sunsets are awesome and the local beaches are lovely and uncrowded. The location is is perfect having easy access to the entire island. The only downfall I found in the condo is that the bathrooms are small and a couple has no room to share it. Therefore additional time must be budgeted to get ready each day.

Once you're out of the bathroom, you can enjoy the beautiful ocean view with a graceful palm tree - a reminder that you're actually living in Maui's paradise.

  This condo is in the perfect location, has everything and more you could possibly need and is blessed with an incredible host, Hope, who goes way beyond and above any expectations to make your stay simply perfect. Maui is perfection on its own. This condo is exquisite but it truly is the generosity of spirit and kindness from Hope that is the icing on the cake. You can't go wrong choosing this condo for your perfect Hawaiian vacation. Much aloha is everywhere in this condo.

  Exactly as advertised. Could not be happier with our choice of accomodations. Being on the ground floor with the beach only steps away was fabulous. We were there for my daughters wedding so I was able to view other condo's at different properties and ours was the best, no stairs, no elevators and no treks to the beach. It's right outside your door. The condo was well looked after and had all the amenities required for a great holiday!!!

  This condo was perfect! We have stayed in many different condos in Kihei over the years and this one really stands out. The location - just yards away from the beach was perfect for my father-in-law who can't walk very far. The wide expanse of beach was never crowded, the water was nice but we had to go elsewhere to snorkel because there was only sand (which is good if you are only swimming!) The expanse of lawn just off the lanai would be perfect for children to play on. The condo was represented perfectly in the photos. It was clean and very well stocked. There were amenities there that I had never seen in a condo before - laundry detergent to last our whole stay (not just one or two little packs), extra paper towels, a beautiful lady's sun hat, a first aid kit and cleaning supplies, like bleach, window cleaner, all purpose cleaner, etc. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and all the appliances you could want, such as a rice cooker, blender and microwave. Although they had wifi, they also supplied an internet cable so that you could connect directly if you chose to. Our host, Hope Marie, was very gracious and very accessible, contacting us several time during our stay to make sure that we were having a wonderful time and also left several treats for us during our 2-week stay. Yum! We would definitely recommend this condo to friends, as well as stay here again. :)

  My wife and I stayed here with our teenagers and had a fabulous time. Hope was there to help us if anything came up and left our family wonderful treats when we arrived. The place was well kept and the grounds were quiet. The views were spectacular, the beach was only steps away. Listening to the waves at night was peaceful and very relaxing. We ate most of our meals on the patio or on the roof top. Having all the grills on the grounds made it easy to sit outside, cook and enjoy the views. We spent evenings at the pool, watching the sunset. There were shops and restaurants all close to the property, which made it convenient for our kids to walk and grab a bite or just explore by themselves. It was our first time to the island and thanks to your condo and Hope it was an amazing vacation. Thank you for sharing this wonderful condo with my family.

  We all enjoyed our stay and found the condo to have every necessity that we needed. We never wanted for anything. Also, Hope made sure we had a special tasty treat waiting for us to enjoy several times when we arrive back from our many adventures on the island. The view from the condo patio is what I will miss most. We could never find another place that can compare to the beautiful view. We made use of the roof top barb-b-ques and made friends with other quests along the way. Our grandsons throughly enjoyed the pool each day and the short walk to the beach was a big hit. We can hardly wait for our next trip to Maui and Menehune Shores. The owners made the reservation process very convenient and were extemely helpful, as was Hope.

  The vidio that Michael has on his web page for apartment 121 Menehune Shores was very true to his words. We counted 67 steps to the Ocean. Four adults stayed at Menehune Shore very comfotable. You will need nothing for your stay only you food and drink. There are many extras such as pool toys, beach chairs, lawn chairs and a few coolers of different sizes. Ladies there was even nail polish remover, in each bathroom. The grounds are extreamley well kept. With good ground and pool rules. But not over the top. Mahalo to Hope,who takes care of the condo for leaving lights on for our late arrival and also for the treats left. Mahalo Nui Loa to Michael and Barbara for helping dreams come true with great ease. There are many reasons to return in the future. Four adults from Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada---check out a book called Maui Reveled--extremely helpful for first time on Maui-- I did research on the Hawaiian language and printed out common words and the meaning. It was fun when we came across a word or phrase. Aloha and You will ENJOY.

  We loved our stay at this condo! It is very clean, and is equipped with everything you need to feel right at home. All the beach gear is supplied...chairs, towels, coolers, boogie boards, umbrellas and a picnic basket. The beach is literally just steps off the lanai, and the view is gorgeous! The kitchen is fully equipped, and the in-suite washer and dryer is a plus. The bedrooms have large closets with plenty of hangers, and there is also lots of drawer space. All the beds are very comfortable. There was never a lack of hot water, and both bathrooms have showers and hair dryers, with lots of towels. The pool was beautiful, with many loungers, and is very secure with keyed entry. The rooftop BBQ and picnic area was a great place for meeting new friends, whale watching, and of course watching beautiful sunsets. (Use your key to access to elevator to the roof!) There is plenty of parking, and there are shopping carts in the stairwells for bringing groceries to your unit. Although we did not meet Hope who cares for this suite, she did call us a couple of times to see if we needed anything, and she also left us several island treats...so nice! During our 16 day stay, we visited a different beach every day, did a helicopter tour with Air Maui, horseback rode at Makena Stables, snorkeled on the Mahana Na'ia, drove the Road to Hana with the hike up to Waimoku Falls, and drove to Haleakala Crater on an extremely clear day. All were fantastic! I suffer from chronic daily migraines, but while in Maui I was completely migraine free. This was a very healing and enjoyable holiday! So, to sum this up in 3 words...Book This Condo! We are so glad we did, and will definately be returning.

  This was our second stay in this condo. The photos on the listing are exactly what you will see when you arrive. The condo is spotlessly clean and well appointed. If you want to cook the kitchen has all of the dishes and appliances you will need. The beds are very comfortable. The view is fantastic. We ate our breakfast every morning on the lanai, then went for a walk on the beautiful sandy beach. There was a wonderful treat in the frig when we arrived and we were called a couple of times during our stay to see if we needed anything. There is no air conditioning but with the ocean breezes it's not needed. The grounds are well kept and the area is very quiet at night. We are hoping to visit Maui again soon and will definitely stay here if it's available. Thank you for providing us a wonderful home away from home!

  When we arrived we found the condo was exactly as described. Clean and beautiful. It was well equipped with everything we could of wanted. It was nice to find a welcoming note and a beautiful flower arrangement waiting for us from Hope. She called our second day to make sure we had everything we needed and to see if there was anything that wasn't there to see if she could get it for us. The beds were comfortable, a TV in both rooms, plenty of linens and many extras. We enjoyed both beaches on each side of the condo. We also enjoyed the pool. The views were awesome. We highly recommend this condo to everyone and will be back next year. Hope, thank you again for all your help. Michael has a little peace of paradise there in Maui.

  We booked this condo directly with Michael. Micheal was so very helpful and eager to share the details of the unit and also explain what we we looking at in the photos. We were (to be honest) a bit worried about the no air conditioning bit, however Michael assured us that becaus of the orientation on this unit the tradewinds really made it unnecessary, Michael was 100% right about that. when we arrived at the condo and opened the door it was exactally as the photos, we immediately went out on the lani and "Boom" just about 50 steps away from the water's edge. Hope was amazing with her attention to detail, she left a nice welcoming gift in the fridge for us, called the next morning to make sure we got there and things were ok.she also came by and dropped of more treats for us during our stay. The day before we left Hope again called us to find out how our week was and wished us a safe trip back home. We made use of some of the beach toys, and found that this condo was equipped with everything we needed to make out stay perfect. A lot of good music CD's as well (we listened to most of them while out on the lani during the evenings). The condo was clean, beds were really comfortable and in the evenings when we returned to the condo we simply left the front screened door open and the breeze instantly cooled down the place. I WILL be staying at this unit again and will definetly let friends and family know about our fantastic experience. By the way, when we got back home, Hope again touched base with us via email and wished us well. Great, GREAT!! time at this condo and this was our 4th time in Maui. Thank you Michael and Hope, for ensuring that our Maui home gave us nothing to worry about.

  I want to thank you for the use of your condo. We had a wonderful time at the Menehuni Shores. Its a beautiful location with a million dollar view of the ocean and beach. You have provided everything that your guests could possibly need. The ground floor location worked out fine for the wheelchair. We have come home with great tans and feeling very relaxed and renewed. I hope we can use it again in the future. Russ, Sandy, and Shaun

  Aloha Michael and Barbara: I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had on Maui and how much we enjoyed your lovely condo. I especially enjoyed waking up to the cooing of the doves and falling asleep at night to the sound of the ocean. Your condo was very comfortable and the kitchen equipped with "just enough dishes" so as to not get carried away making gourmet meals. (My daughter is an awesome cook.) We ate in quite a few nights and that saved us some money...found some great restaurants as well. The beds were very comfortable too. I know that the trip and the condo were a great birthday gift for my daughter. I also want to mention what a wonderful asset Hope Marie is and she is a delight to work with. I will return next year 2011 in the spring... this time the trip will be FOR ME. I will contact you about coming in May. I need to organize some dates with my family. Mahalo and much aloha.
