For the price, this was a fantastic cabin in McCall. Hot tub, wood stove, everything. We had fantastic snow and a great time! I would (and will) visit again. There were one or two small things that needed attention, such as the range light wasn't working right, and one of the dvd players wasn't working, but overall the cabin was well maintained and in great working order. We used the kitchen extensively, and it was well-stocked with cookware and etc. Lots of games were available, and the kids had a great time, even though it was pretty cold outside during our stay. (Plus, the hot tub was plenty warm). I've rented many places in McCall, and this is one of my favorites.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Yay! So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, Morgan... that's what we want for all of our guests, and it means so much to have you take the time to say so. Come stay again soon! :o)

Everything was easy - check in/out, getting to Ponderosa Park and the Marina and other activities. We loved the hammock and gathering on the wicker chairs on the front porch and on the deck. The owner was great to work with and seemed responsive to a couple of repairs that are needed. Just as pictured.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and stayed in this rental during the second week of July 2012, and it such a great experience. The cabin looks just as it does in the pictures. It was clean and very inviting. We enjoyed all the amenities. The hot tub was the best, but we also loved the patios and fire pit area as well. The cabin is under a great canopy of pine trees, which kept a lot of the property under shade. The large driveway was great not only for parking our vehicles, but for our kids to ride their bikes on. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pans, silverware and basic condiments. We were just a short distance from Davis Beach, which we played at several of our days there. It was also nice to be just a short drive away from downtown McCall, and just a short walk away from Ponderosa Park hiking trails. The only problem we experienced was that we left my son's security blanket there. After contacting the rental owner, she was great about locating the blanket and mailing it home to us! Not many property owners are that accomodating. My family loved this cabin and would definitely stay there again if we had the chance!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My family and I just finished a 3 day "get away" at the Pilgrim Cove Cabin. What a comfortable cabin and set in such beautiful scenery. As we sat on the front porch one evening, a doe came across the yard and it was really a treat to be so close to such a graceful and beautiful animal. The cabin was very nice and accommodating. Decorated beautifully and offers all you could want and more. Nicole is a wonderful host and really does care about her guests and desires to make your stay perfect. We hope to return again whenever we can find time for another "get away." Thank you, Nicole for your generosity and care. Sincerely, Donna C.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We were two families with four young children total. Plenty of room for all of us. Incredible location for access to Ponderosa State Park; we walked to the nordic trails every day. Very quiet, very safe area. The owner was very quick to respond to a hot tub maintenance issue. The hot tub is a huge draw for winter visits. This isn't luxury accommodations, but the price is right.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

The cabin was perfect for a long weekend away with kids. The home has a big yard, lots of games and a very cute kids room. It's location is just a block away from ponderosa state park, excellent for xc skiing. Our only complaint was there is little storage for skis and wet gear. We figured it out though. Nicole was very helpful!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our New Years Eve stay here was perfect. It's location was ideal for X-Country Skiing, just a walk down the street to Ponderosa State Park. It was well stocked in firewood for both our outdoor and indoor fires and had the right amenities in the kitchen for our holiday over-indulgences. I would suggest however bringing a few more serving platters/tupperware items, as it appears others have maybe taken some of the stock home with their leftovers. We comfortably slept 6 and could have easily slept more with a few blow-up mattresses on the ground. My only issue was the house had too many knick-knacks, and we had to hide them away to make space for some of our own stuff. Good amount of closet space.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for breaking in the New Year with us, Margaret! And thanks for the great feedback... we will re-stock the Tupperware. Come see us again soon!

We really enjoyed our stay. Cabin was clean and well-maintained. Owner was extremely responsive to issues we had with cable service. Location is near a wonderful bike/walking path and convenient to town and skiing (when there's actually snow). Would recommend for a family, although might want to ask for a few more pots and pans to make cooking a full meal easier.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We generally go to Mccall once a year since we live in Boise. At the last moment we decided to head up before the Memorial Weekend (2011). I spoke to Nicole and was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful she was to let us have this house at a great rate. We always go prepared (having had some unpleasant experiences in the past), so we arrive there. And believe me.. we are amazed! I had read all the reviews before booking, but every word was true (from all the positive reviews). Located just appropriately (tucked away between the golf course & Ponderossa park), Secluded, Peaceful, Cozy, Warm, Inviting, Well-kept, Stocked-up with every small thing, Neat, Tidy and here's our best part - this place is so dust-free and Odour-free... which was the highest on our scoring chart! It is extremely clean and we laughed at all the stuff we had lugged from our home! The Hot-Tub was really awesome.. very clean and warm water. Was one of the high-points. The Fireplace was a charm as the weather turned cold when we visited. We loved the cabin so much that we did NOT even go outside for anything except lunch & dinner! We lazed around and relaxed - and are extremely pleased! Far exceeded our expectations. We are MOST definitely going back - soon! We have many relatives coming in from overseas..and they will be thrilled to visit this place. About Nicole - Extremely wonderful person.Very prompt, clear, helpful, considerate, friendly, always available on the phone... she is AWESOME! It would be a bummer if we don't get this cabin again but as I told Nicole..looking at the way she mantains the property..I will leave it to her to find us something else. It is her headache - but Nicole is sure on my contact list!!!! Once again Nicole, Thank you for everything. Let's stay in touch... we will be back SOON - for sure! Cheers!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great stay here! The cabin is on a quiet street but feels very secluded with all the snow! The fireplace is wonderful, and the hot tub was great to warm up in. This is our second year coming and we are just as pleased as the first trip. The owner really does care about making sure you are happy. The house is not too far from Ponderosa state park which has beautiful snow shoe and cross country paths. This was a great value, and the home felt very cozy.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for the review, Mary... it was great to have you back as our guests!!

We enjoyed a nice long stay in this gem. I am awful about writing reviews, but loved this cabin so much and the customer service we received from Nicole was incredible, I felt it important to write a quick note and recommend it to McCall visitors. The close proximity to the park, the bbq and the included wifi were my favorite parts. The horseshoe pit, hammock and bird watching are also great additions to this home-away-from-home. Would absolutely rent again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Love this proprety! I was pleasantly surprised how wonderfully clean and well kept it was. All the amenities made the stay even better, hot tub, kitchen, stacked wood ready to burn, etc. We had a lovely time and especially enjoyed the nice little touches like a bag of popcorn ready for us to eat while cozying up to watch a movie while it snowed! The owner was amazingly gracious. I felt like we knew her. We are trying to put together another trip soon and everyone voted we stay at the same place!! Thanks Nicole!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

never had been to mccall before. first off let me say that this location is absolutley perfect. this was the key to our very successful trip. everything is nearby and there is a town shuttle that runs daily 100 feet from the front door. the cabin is on a huge forested yard with a fire pit, horseshoes, a bbq and a hot tub with very powerful jets for massage. we stayed completely entertained while at the cabin. there is cable tv, wifi, boardgames and a ton of movies with big comfy couches and a big tv to watch them on. the beds are comfortable and the shower was hot with great water pressure. the washer and dryer worked great and we were able to cook or make anything we wanted with all of the kitchen supplies. Nicole the owner is a sweet heart and this place was just perfect!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

I was completely misled by the pictures and description of this cabin. The plan was to walk across the street to the ponderosa park like add says but I can only see houses all around us. If you are planning on getting away this is not a good choice for the price. The first couple hours were spent with screaming crying kids cause the DVD player didn't work and T.V. was making a loud whistle noise. After getting passed that all we wanted to do was have drinks in the hot tub. We jumped in the filthy water not realizing cause it was dark out then 20 minutes later power shuts down on hot tub. "GAY". Woke up and was not pleased. I am extremely disappointed and wish I would have spent my money on something a little more enjoyable. Today is my birthday and Im spending it writing this review.Owner response: The Pilgrim Cove Cabin is located in McCall, in a subdivision located between the McCall Golf Course, and Ponderosa Park as stated in our description. A hiking, biking, and x-country skiing entrance to Ponderosa Park is located across the street, and North past a couple of homes, and a public beach is less than a mile down the road. But we are not the only cabins in the area, as it is a wonderful place to be! Our cabin is located on 1/3 Acre with a private fenced back yard, with a deck and hot tub, as well as a forested area with towering pines, a fire pit, and horseshoes pits. Our cabin was recently remodeled with all new windows, interior and exterior paint, new carpet, updated bath, almost all new furnishings and linens, etc. We take pride in keeping our cabins in excellent condition, clean, and well stocked with all the little extras to make our guests' stay comfortable. We also leave comment cards for our guests to fill out, so we can stay on top of any maintenance issues... but not all guests take the time to fill them out. Occasionally there is a maintenance issue that we are not aware of because we have not been informed, however we have a crew on staff to respond immediately when there is an issue. For instance, the hot tub issues referred to above were called in, and our maintenance man was at the property immediately, and found that a breaker had tripped. He had it up and running in two minutes, checked the chemicals, and added a clarifier, however, it was obvious that the kids had been in and out prior to the adults attempt to get in, and it was not as clean as it was prior to their arrival. While the maintenance man was at the property, guests did not mention any trouble with the TV and DVD player, which would have been an easy fix, as the TV was just on the wrong input setting. We would have done anything possible to make these guests stay more enjoyable, had they communicated with us what the problems were. Instead, we received a phone call when they were checking out, asking for a refund for their stay, which was a little bit unreasonable. Unfortunately, a negative comment was posted on VRBO when we did not refund their 3-day stay. We hope that other prospective guests will be able to see past this comment, and feel confident that the Pilgrim Cove Cabin is very well cared for, and has been booked solid all summer with many returning guests, because it is a wonderful & comfortable place to stay. Come see for yourself!
