Queen sofa bed, twin futon, and crib provide extra sleeping.
2000 sq ft of deck on 3 levels allow sun or shade all day. Enjoy panoramic ocean views and sounds from the top levels. Hammock, swing, hot tub, rooftop sundeck and comfortable furnishings encourage outdoor living. Spacious outdoor shower. Large family/dining area and remodeled kitchen. Watch deer, rabbits, birds, and other wildlife that visit the .55 acre wooded lot.
Conveniently located on the Outer Banks just 3 miles from the Wright Memorial Bridge, Watkins Landing has privacy combined with views and convenience. Private concrete paths makes ocean access easy. In addition, guests can enjoy water sports on the Currituck Sound, picnic and play areas in Southern Shores, fishing, and exploration of the Wright Memorial Park, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Ocracoke Island, Corolla, and the Lost Colony. Walking/biking paths go north to Duck and south to Kitty Hawk.
Groceries, cinemas, and shopping are only minutes away. In season Sunday-Sunday rentals make commuting less hectic. All rentals are handled by the owner, and student groups are not permitted.

Why the Owner Chose Southern Shores
This home is our second on the Outer Banks. It was personally designed and built (1993) and remodeled (2007) to accommodate our growing family of adult children and grandchildren. Since we get such pleasure from our vacation home, we try provide our guests with the conveniences that we enjoy. The private cul-de-sac, proximity to the beach, and central location on the Outer Banks are incomparable.

Our 2 families of 10 people stayed last August(2010) and loved our first trip to the Outer Banks in this beautiful home! The Watkins' are wonderful to work with and their home is stunning. This year we chose to try Corolla, and while we had a great week, we're returning to Southern Shores next year! We're hoping to rent 2 houses so we can bring more family and friends, and Watkins Landing is our #1 choice...now we just need another home on Sandfiddler Ct. and we can make our reservation for 2012. We hope Irene caused minimal, if any, damage to your beautiful home in OBX as well as your home in Virginia. Thank you again for a truly wonderful week last summer!

Helpful, thoughtful owners provided a wonderful week in a quiet, private neighborhood with easy access to the beach. The property is well equipped and truly made us feel "at home". The photos are accurate but don't do it justice. We have stayed in many rental homes in various locations, but Watkins Landing is one we hope to visit again. It is a gem.

My family of ten spent this past week at Watkins Landing and hope to return next year. This place is ideal for a large family. It is so spacious, no one is in the way or saying excuse me. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. Just bring the food. Everyone could sit at the large table and that was great. The ocean is just steps away from the front door. Very clean and modern.

This was a wonderful home and the owners were fantastic. We stayed in June of 2009. It was a perfect fit for two families with kids. The rooms are spacious and the views from the top two decks are spectacular.

Watkins Landing is one of the best-kept secrets on the Outer Banks! We have stayed at Watkins Landing at least eight times over the last ten years. The outdoor decks and views are great; the interior is very attractive, spacious and comfortable and the short walk to the beach makes Watkins landing a very convenient location. We absolutely love Watkins Landing!
