Estes Park cabin description

2014 WINTER SPECIAL!! STARTING JAN.2ND - MAY 1ST....STAY 2 OR MORE NIGHTS AND GET ONE NIGHT FREE!!!!!

BEAR BOTTOM CABIN

Don & Brenda would like to invite you to enjoy their very cute, very cozy cabin. They stripped this 1895 original Estes Park cabin to the bare bottom, hence the name 'The Bear Bottom Cabin' to bring it back to its natural rustic charm. It is about 2 blocks from downtown Estes, in a quiet neighborhood, and about a 15 minute drive to the north entrance of RMNP.
Then after a day of hiking, shopping, snowshoeing, or even fishing you could come back and relax in the outdoor private hot tub or sit on the deck and take in the views of Lumpy Ridge and the famous Stanley Hotel, all while watching the elk and deer who are frequent visitors to the neighborhood. On cooler nights you can enjoy an electric fire in the original moss rock fireplace.
Bear Bottom Cabin now offers free Wi-Fi.

This cabin is to be enjoyed year round.

My finacee and I came up to Estes to stay for a couple of nights for New Year's. We have stayed at several other cabins in the area and this one was very nice. The location is convenient with its close proximity to the downtown area. It was too cold during our stay to walk, but during months where the weather is warmer, it is a short walk to the shops, bars, etc. The view from the living room is nice as you have a wide-open view of the Stanley Hotel. The cabin itself is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is bigger than most of the cabins in the area and helps if you will be cooking at all during your stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom included a tv. Having a hot tub is a big plus for us and we enjoyed resting our legs after some snowshoeing in RMNP. We wished there was a ‘real’ fireplace (one that burned logs), but the electric one still gives you the sense of having a fire. The décor in the cabin was picked out nicely and made you feel very welcomed. Overall, the cabin was all we anticipated and we will look to stay again when we can make the trip back up from Denver.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

As we arrived at Estes Park it started to snow, perfect setting for Christmas Eve. As we entered the cabin, it was decorated very festive throughout, Christmas tree, lights in several places, Christmas music playing; we were amazed how cozy and nice the cabin is. It was very clean, with plenty of room and all the required necessities, nicely decorated (it is called Bear Bottom Cabin) and it is very bear(ie) with lots of bears, creating an appropriate atmosphere, very mountain(y) to go with the Estes Park area. We were there for four plus days and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a special time for us since my wife has been dealing with a form of cancer for three years, being able to get out like this has been a blessing away from doctors, hospitals, neighbors and family. The cabin and Estes Park were a perfect place to get away. We read, napped, walked the plaza, toured the Stanley hotel, ate out and cooked in the cabin, just enjoyed the quietness, warmth that the cabin offered. The owners we dealt with were extremely helpful, and convinced us that the cabin would perfect for us. We have some bad news for others wanting to return, we are thinking of reserving the cabin for the remainder of 2014 (kidding). We do want to return to Estes Park and stay at the same cabin. when the weather is more accommodating so we can see more, Only disappointment was no "Fox News Channel", after this discovery, TV was not turned on.

We just spend four days at the cabin and loved it! We didn't want to leave. As soon as we walked in we felt right at home and we were so surprised that the cabin was fully decorated with Christmas decorations including a Christmas tree! We went snowshoeing at Rocky Mountain National Park and enjoyed the awesome hot tub every night. The town is very cute and an irish bar named Lonigan's has great story's about the local wildlife walking through! The cabin is very clean and has everything you need! This is a perfect getaway! We can't wait to come back!

The Bare Bottom Cabin was the perfect stay for us for the weekend. Although there are other cabins close by, the situation of the Bare Bottom Cabin helps you to feel more secluded. It has a great view of the Stanley Hotel and the hot tub was nice and warm. This cabin was everything we were hoping it would be for the weekend.

This place is great for a quick getaway, really nice location, Just a short walk to downtown Estes Park, or short drive to Rocky Mountain national Park. The private hot tub is nice. I wouldn't try to put more than one couple in this cabin.

We were more than pleased with the cabin, it was small but cozy, and just perfect for two people. The interior was clean, well decorated, and we loved the beetle kill pine throughout. Though close to other cabins, the owners have done a great job of protecting your privacy by putting up strategically placed fencing that did not take away from the view of The Stanley Hotel and rock formations. The patio is welcoming and we enjoyed BBQing on the grill one night. We were also able to get Wi-Fi by setting up a hot spot from our cell phone. We couldn't have asked for more, and will definately return again.

The property itself was very nice. But our vacation was ruined by the 100 year flood that occured last week in Estes Park. Everything in the town was destroyed and we were lucky to get out of town by going west through Rocky Mountain National Park. It cut our vacation short. But the prople that live there had unbelievable damage. It will be a long time before the town and the surrounding area recovers.

My Wife and I enjoyed a recent stay here at this Beautiful rustic cabin. Great morning view of the sunrise coming up over the mountains (made for some good coffee drinking times) as well as a good view of the Stanley from the hottub at night. We were visited by 6 mule deer walking within feet of the cabin on our first evening. The cabin was outfitted nicely with pans and bakeware and utensils and even some spices, and linens and extra blankets for laying in front of the fireplace. Very close to downtown area, easily accessible by foot. Overall the cabin was very suited to our liking, however we both would have enjoyed a more remote setting. There were several cabins closeby but a lot of them weren't rented at the time, which helped with the privacy, however, we both really enjoyed our stay in the cabin and would be happy with staying here again.

This little cabin was perfect for 2 people who just want to get away. It is very little, so if you are 6' tall, you probably won't fit in the bathroom or parts of the bedroom. It was very close to downtown, so it's perfect if you don't want to drive. The cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed- including a DVD of "The Shining"!

Manager response: I would like to comment on the cabin being to small for a 6 foot person. Very over exaggerated. Not true at all the owner is over 6 foot and lived in the cabin for over a year while remodeling it. We have had several tall guests in the past and they return 2 to 3 times a year.
