  We rented the main house for 2 weeks (family and friends). It is by far the best location in the area for a pristine sandy beach (great boogie boarding!), 5 min. walk to town, great nearby restaurants, and access to other amenities such as meeting up with sport fishing boats, sunset cruises, surfing lessons etc. Everything is walking distance from the beach (and your back door). Great pool and deck area, and spacious rooms with a great house staff keeping the place safe,secure, clean and well maintained daily. In addition, we appreciated easy access to the Property Managers, when we had questions. We will be back; it just doesn't get much better. Thanks!

  We went to Costa Rica to celebrate my father's 70th birthday with both my parents, my husband and two sons (15 and 16) as well as my sister, brother-in-law and two nieces (12 and 13). This house was fantastic to accomodate all 10 of us with a large dining room table to comfortably seat all of us around it. Our days were spent surfing, swimming in both the ocean and the pool and included a couple of excursions running out of Tamarido since we didn't want to spend vacation time travelling. A highlight was the sunset catamaran cruise on the 65 foot Merina Del Rey. As a previous review stated, the pictures of this property do not do it justice and the staff (housekeeper, groundskeeper and security guard) were all very kind, helpful and trustworthy. We would definitely go back to Tamarindo and this property in the future.

  Our family spent a memorable vacation in this extraordinary beach villa. Magnificent sunsets amidst palm trees and the sound of the waves every evening right there, either from the comfort of the lounging chairs or from the fine sandy beach accessible in just a few steps, behind the pool gate. The beauty and comfort of this villa makes you want to live there forever. The person who welcomed us also informed us about all the activities that we could do so we didn't loose any time finding out about them on the last day. It is very convenient to horseback ride, zip line, take an estuary tour with a local guide (perfect for the whole family) where you can see monkeys, crocodiles and lots of birds, doing a sunset boat ride or spend the day exploring near a volcano. Pampering yourself was also easily arranged with massages at home. I noticed that one of the reviewer brought up an issue regarding theft. I couldn't be more surprised now by this review. At first we were careful to put out of view any valuables but then as we got to know the staff, we became completely confident that not only we didn't have to worry about theft but that our valuables were precisely safer because of the staff around. In addition, the housekeeper and guard are very kind and nice and I don't doubt their honesty at all. Tamarindo is a superb location to explore from and the touristic village is very practical and quaint and indeed just a few minutes walk by the beach. Still the villa is away from the center of activity. In the morning, a few vacationers runs for a jog on the beach, surfers are more on the Northern side of the beach. The sight and sounds of the birds in the garden are unforgettable. A magical place!

  We just spent 2 weeks in February at this incredible home. All of our guests were comfortable and very pleased with their stay. The grounds are clean and very beautiful. The pool area is fantastic and the walk to the beach through the security gate is about 25 yards! The home is perfectly located on a very safe ( swimming, surfing) beach in town and it centrally located to all of the shops, eateries, and excitement of town. There is a daily cleaning service, gardener, and security guard on site. All of very pleasing and helpful. The property representative is very professional and easy to contact if needed. The ownership group is fantastic, accomidating, and full of information on Tamarindo and its' offerings. We had our wedding on the beach infront of the home and our reception on the grounds......PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT! We can not wait to get back to Tamarindo and hopefully rent this beautiful home once again. Mucho Gracias and Pura Vida

  We spent 2 weeks over the holidays at Villa Cascada in Tamarindo. The house was absolutely amazing; the pictures hardly do it justice! We used most of the house, including the apartment over the garage and the guest house and we had space to spare. Since the property had maid service everyday, along with a gardener, everything always looked beautiful and well maintained. We felt immersed more in the culture as the help spoke mostly Spanish, causing us to brush up our Spanish! The house manager, Karen, was amazing. She met us at the house, arranged all of our adventure activities and arranged any transportation we needed. We did have a rental car but it really wasn't necessary. Karen even provided us with a Christmas tree upon arrival which we all enjoyed over the holidays. Karen recommended a local chef who cooked amazing meals for us; we also enjoyed the local restaurants, especially the beach club several lots down... but nothing compared to their cooking! They even had drinks and appetizers waiting for us upon return from a sunset cruise! Being in Tamarindo for 2 weeks, enabled us to explore Costa Rica and fitting in lots of adventures, but we also were able to enjoy the house, sitting by the pool, cooking and dining outside, enjoying the sunrises and sunsets from the master bedroom balcony, walks on the beach and exploring the town. With several bedrooms having a private entrance, all were able to enjoy their own privacy but we could gather as a family in the main house for meals. The house keeper would wash our clothes while we were out for the day and the security guard would clean up our mess at the pool at night; everything was always taken care of. Karen attended to our every need and was always available when we had questions. I would highly recommend the Villa Cascada, especially if you have adult children as we have, or if you want a great place for several adult couples to stay. There are only 2 bedrooms within the main house, all others have their own entrance, so the house might not be conducive if travelling with a lot of small children-that would be the only downside; but we didn't have to worry about that! We loved it and plan to go back!

  This was truly the most amazing place that I have ever stayed in. The details and photos of the house did not do justice to what you get to experience in person. The grounds were beautiful, the house was spotlessly clean, all rooms were furnished perfectly. I can't say anything negative about the house. I was impressed beyond words and it made for the arrival in Costa Rica be that much more exciting! However, we stayed from Sunday until Saturday at this house. Thursday while I was gone on a canopy tour with all of my friends on the trip, my iPhone, my friends iPhone, and my friends iPad adapter cable were all stolen. The only people on the grounds besides my friend and his girlfriend (who were sick that day) were the maid, the gardeners and the pool cleaners. My 2 friends were at the pool for a short period and then spent the remainder of the day in one of the side rooms that did not have an entry to the den. (They had to walk outside to enter into the den/kitchen area.) While they were in their room and while I was gone on my canopy tour is when my phone and my friends phone/adaptor cable were stolen. We contacted Karen and Nick immediatley upon realizing this and were shocked at how it was handled. Although the main grounds of the house were locked (entry to the front and backyard) we had over $1,400 worth of property stolen while only THEIR employees were on the premise. Not only did Karen or Nick not try to assist us/investigate, they refused to help and even suggested our close friends staying in town with us were possible suspects. This was impossible, as all friends were on the same canopy tour at the time of the property disappearing, and the other 2 friends who stayed home due to being sick had their property stolen as well. Obviously this was upsetting and we have since corresponded at length trying to get some sort of help from Karen. Our initial emails were responded to very curtly and the last reply we sent her has gone completely unanswered. DO NOT STAY HERE. Your personal property is not safe and Karen obviously does not care how you feel at the end of the trip, seeing as how we paid cash upfront upon arrival. I regret choosing to stay here.

  My family of 5 stayed here for a week in April. The grounds were amazing and everything in the house was perfect. It is right on a beautiful, quiet beach, yet close to town and all the good restaurants. It is one of the nicest houses we have ever rented and it is very well maintained. Karen, who manages the house, could not have been nicer. She met us when we arrived and answered all our questions. She also offered to book any tours or activities we were interested in. And when we accidently left some very valuable jewelry in the safe, she arranged to send it with a friend to the states where it was safely mailed back to us. This house would be great for a family with older children, up to 6 couples or a large group. (We didn't even use half of the bedrooms.) In the main part of the house there is a large kitchen, dining room and family room and upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with private baths and an office. The master is incredible with a huge walk-in closet and beautiful bathroom with an outdoor shower. The views from the balcony are breathtaking. There are also 2 bedrooms with private baths that open directly to the courtyard area and a nice 2 room apartment over the garage with a bath. The guest house is just as nice as the main house and has a very large open bathroom. Off the kitchen and dining area is a very nice pool and a covered cabana with a refrigerator and grill. It is the perfect place to host a party or have a cookout. You can also hire a chef through Karen and the price is very reasonable. The house has maid service everyday, a gardener and a security guard. There wasn't one thing that we needed that wasn't already provided. We can't imagine that there is a nicer house in Tamarindo!
