Location: St. Petersburg, Florida Central West, Florida, USA (A Deep Water Development 1 Mile South of Downtown St Pete) View Map
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 3 Baths (Sleeps 8)
Keywords: House
Located on a quiet cul-du-sac just a few minutes from downtown St Petersburg, and an even shorter drive to the Dali Museum, Tropicana (Tampa Bay Rays) Stadium, Bayfront and All Childrens Hospitals, and other area landmarks, Tropical Shores is a quaint deep water boating community that many feel has still yet to be discovered.
Our home is on 90 feet of boatable deep water with both a large slip that can accommodate up to a 50 ft yacht and a new boat lift for 23 ft and smaller fishing boats. Our 48 foot dock has a large 12 x 20 head with benches and rails for viewing sunsets (all year around) and dolphins and manatee who often visit our area. Our large back porch (15 ft X 35 ft) includes a pottery barn lounge set and teak dining table for 8, as well as a fire pit w/lounge chairs and a large hammock.....all under cover in case a summer rain passes through.
We are minimalists at heart and redesigned our house with a very open and expansive mindset. Walk into our panoramic great room greeting you from the moment you enter the home. A gourmet kitchen and integrated living and dining area makes for a wonderful entertainment space. Expansive water views through floor to ceiling sliders make this an unforgetable experience from dawn to sunset.
With all of the things to do around St Pete, we find that we don't leave often when visiting our home.

Map & Owner's Profile

Why the Owner Chose St. Petersburg
We purchased our house for many reasons. Our area, Tropical Shores, is one of the better kept secrets in St Pete. We are minutes from downtown, the Salvador Dali museum, and the restaurant/theatre district, and a twenty minute drive to the beaches and Tampa. We also get full patio/dock sunsets year around. We love deep water (there are many houses in ST Pete where you can dock a boat, but VERY FEW where you can dock boats 30 feet and larger). Our area has deep water and we can accomodate a vessal up to 50ft in length. We always found the neighbors to be warm, the area great for exercising, and always pleasant to come home to.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our area is typically very quiet and relaxing. There is not a lot of external noise except for the ocassional boat or plane passing by. Most months of the year we experience an exceptional breeze in our neighborhood. Although Florida has a reputation of being hot and humid in the summer, we find that the breeze is frequent and consistent enough to keep our patio and dock cool......not just when we are relaxing at home, but also when taking lengthy evening walks, long bike rides on the miles of nearby trails and morning/evening jogs throughout our neighborhood with awesome views of Tampa Bay. We enjoy being very close to downtown St Pete, Tropicana Stadium to watch the Tampa Bay Rays, the Beaches, Clearwater, and Tampa.....and when we are in the mood for a longer drive, we visit Tarpon Springs which has a wonderful waterfront Greek community that sells merchandise identical to what we brought home from Athens after our honeymoon cruise years ago (if we knew that before departing we could have saved 20 lbs of luggage!).
Reported as having the best collection of Dali paintings outside of Spain!
On a windy day this park is filled with wind and kite surfers due to the strong winds that accumulate based on the shape of the inlet!
Owner's Map of St. Petersburg
Our rental house wasn't initially meant to be a vacation rental property, but our family's house to reside full time. When our beautiful son Lucas was diagnosed with autism, we were faced with a decision that required us to move to a location in South Florida that has premier treatment facilities. The costs to treat autism are astronomical and we felt compelled to share our St Petersburg home with vacationers who can truly appreciate the beauty the area has to offer, and assist us financially to help Lucas through this difficult time. As time goes by and Lucas' schooling allows us to move back to our house, it will be solely for us to enjoy again, but the memories of the many families who stayed here and enjoyed our little taste of paradise will always be present.

We were looking for the "perfect" house to stay in for the week leading up to our daughter's own " Royal Wedding" on April 29. And we found it in this home! As a family we love to all hang out in the kitchen participate in cooking together, sharing stories and this is a great kitchen for that while enjoying a great view! We enjoyed many great "happy hours" and meals on the back patio enjoying the sunsets and just taking in the ocean! This is not a house, but a "home"... Filled with love.. Our thanks goes to Lucas (Paul & Maries son) for guiding us towards this house..it was meant to be!! We loved the house and our stay so much I even had my husband ask Paul if he would sell it! We are still waiting for the answer, but we know now why he loves his house so much!! Thank you Paul, Marie and Lucas for sharing... We had a wonderful week, a wonderful wedding..filled with a lifetime of warm memories... We will return for sure...if given the opportunity. We could not ask for more....just pack your bags and move in!!!!!

Paul was so helpful and easy to work with and the home is even better than advertised. We were a group of five adults and two small children. Everyone had their own space -- clean and beautifully decorated. Don't miss out on the Dali museum if you stay here.

Went to St. Petes for business and found this home to be beautiful, very clean, actually better than description given. The outside deck on the water at night is very peaceful. Every room has plenty of space and is classy yet comfortable. The location of the home I found to be close to everything and very convenient. Most of all the Rental process is very easy. The owner Paul is great to work with. I will be back again.

We stayed here in April of 2010 after our daughter had surgery in St. Pete. It was a great place to recouperate. Quiet, nice neighborhood. The house is beautiful, comfortable and quiet. Great view from the dock and it was a great place to hang out. We went back for a full week in July for a doctor's follow up visit and really had some fun at the house and doing fun things in the area. Our daughter brought a few friends and they loved it also. In July, the dolphins paid us a few visits and that made the whole trip for the girls. The owner was very accomodating and nice. We can't wait to go back. Very highly recommend staying here!!!

My friends and I had a wonderful long weekend in this perfect home! I have rented homes in the past that have not lived up to their description or photos, but that was certainly not the case here. The house was every bit as lovely as it looked in the photos. I loved the airy plan and the large open kitchen that made even mundane meal preparation fun. At night, the outdoor deck and dock were beautiful, breezy and relaxing. The owners were so nice and accommodating, and it is clear that they truly care about their home and the guests who come to stay there. I am looking forward to renting this home again next year!

This house was just so pretty inside....super comfortable and loved the way the house is opened to where you can see the water and the beautiful porch...we were there during the "US OPEN" so that was really cool to watch the tournament and at the same time..fishing and seeing the dolphin!! The neighborhood is safe and quiet. My son and I were in the water swimming and to our surprise...a beautiful dolphin swam right by us...that was so neat!! we'd spent everyday on the dock fishing, sipping wine and relaxed in the water with the our little guy. Thank you Paul and Maria for having us in your beautiful home....by the way, our little man loves your hammock too and he can't wait to come back in the cold season and roast marshmellows:)
