This is a great NEW LISTING (starting in 2009) by the owners, who after many years of personal use and enjoyment, have decided to make it available for others to enjoy. If you are looking for a great place to vacation at the beach? You've found it! Take a look at our beautiful pier home in Oceanside Village, Surfside Beach, South Carolina.
Oceanside Village is a beautiful GATED COMMUNITY with 24/7 security. We have four beautiful fishing lakes, tennis courts, basketball court, large softball field, volleyball court, bocce court, horseshoes and lots of walking space.
There is also a playground for small children with lots of play equipment. Oceanside Village is located on approximately 180 acres. A new FITNESS CENTER is now available. There is a charge per person, per week ($25.00) and it is available from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM each day.
Our home has two bedrooms with two bathrooms. One bathroom has a shower and the other has a tub and shower. The master bedroom has a KING size bed with a sliding-glass door leading to the deck overlooking a beautiful lake with an awesome view. A really neat deck for sunbathing, relaxing, drinks and meals. The guest bedroom has a queen size bed. The living room has a queen size sleeper sofa with a love seat and a rocker-chair.
Also, our home offers a complete kitchen with all the comforts of home. We also offer a full size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, garbage disposal, blender, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, dining room table and lots more!!
The living room has a NEW 42-inch flat-screen HDTV. Color TVs are also located in both bedrooms. A DVD, VCR, and CD player is available. FREE broadband internet service is available from Time Warner RoadRunner. A laptop computer table is located in the living room near the internet connection for your convenience. In the kitchen/living room/den area is a large kitchen/breakfast bar and bar chairs making for a most comfortable setting for social gatherings.
Also, we have a large front, side and rear deck that has tables, chairs and umbrella. The front and rear decks offers views of two lakes. There are four! There is also a gas barbecue grill for your convenience.
The decks on our home offer a nice, restful and peaceful place after spending the day at the beach or at one of our two swimming pools.
One of the swinning pools is outdoors and the other one is enclosed and heated. They both have kiddie pools.
It's a one-minute drive to the pools and four (4) minutes to a beautiful beach. Our beach provides private parking for your convenience. Private restrooms are located in the beach parking lot.
Located in the beach parking lot is one of Myrtle Beach's finest restaurants - the Conch Cafe. The restaurant has a huge covered deck on the ocean for your dining and cocktail experience.
Golf Carts have complete access to all roadways in the village. The speed limits are 15 and 20 mph for the safety of its residents and guests. These are available for rent.
YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE and have a VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE to operate the golf cart. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS as this is closely monitored by the village security personnel.
We ask that you provide your own paper products. We provide the linens, towels,(no beach towels), however, if you would like to bring your own linens or towels that's okay.
We ask that you leave the home in the condition that you found it since there is NO MAID SERVICE.
There is parking for three vehicles. We ask that you smoke on the deck.
We only rent to families. We rent our home from Saturday to Saturday. Our home is pet friendly! Please help us keep it that way! There is a pet fee that is non-refundable.

Year Purchased: 1985
We are Don & Betty and we own our beach house in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Surfside Beach is just south of Myrtle Beach and considered a part of the Grand Strand that includes, Murrells Inlet, Garden City, Surfside Beach, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, etc. We love it! I worked for Piedmont Airlines for 36 years, retiring as vice president - customer relations in 1989 as the company merged into US Airways. I was 55 years old and in good health and Betty and I bought a GoldWing motorcycle and we started touring the good ol' USA! We visited all of the lower 48 states and many provinces of Canada. The memories will last forever. We bought the beach house in 1985 - 25 years ago and it was/is our home away from home. We are now in our mid-70s and that age brings more and more doctor appointments, more illnesses, more grandkids, great-grandkids, and aches and pains that have began to limit our coming to the beach from our home in Winston-Salem, NC about four and half hours away - thus - in 2009 we started sharing it with others as a rental. Betty and I love life, spend most of our spare time working with our church. We are United Methodists and our church family is one of our many loves. We had three children and now have 10 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. We love it.
Why the Owner Chose Oceanside Village
We have always enjoyed Myrtle Beach and in the mid-80s seriously started looking for property there. We found this wonderful gated community just south of Myrtle Beach that was close enough to Myrtle Beach (about 3-5 miles) but far enough out of the downtown tourist area to not feel crowded. Oceanside Village as our community is called has everything we need - lots of green areas for the dog to go walking, four lakes, a community center, tennis courts, bocce (a strange looking game!), horseshoes, volley ball, basketball and on and on. And with it being gated we can drive our golf cart through the community with out fear of getting run over - the speed limit is 15 mph. We love and have loved it for 25 years.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There is, of course, lots to do in the village, the basketball, tennis courts, community center, etc., but one of things we loved most - since, at our age, we no longer participate in outdoor games - is the proximity to stores, shopping centers, home improvement, tons and tons of great restaurants, shopping cewnters, Starbucks, did I say shopping centers and on and on and on but the area provides unlimited opportunities for fun and food and yes, shopping centers and outlet stores.

This is a very nice, convienent, friendly place to stay. My husband, son in law & two grandsons 5&6 & I stayed here in June 2011. It was close to everything. It was clean & very comfortable. I had some medical problems with my back before I got there, & ended up at a Urgent Care clinic needless to say & never got to go down to the beach. The outdoor & indoor pools were at hit with my grandsons. The master bedroom & bed were very comfortable since this was the main place I stayed on our visit. Kitchen was equipped with anything you would need even some grocery items left in fridge. Back deck was roomy & overlooked a small lake! The village was quiet & peaceful even at night. This property would be excellent for two older couples without kids since it is so quiet. The security staff at the main gate were very helpful & friendly. Thanks for sharing your little house with us during our stay at Myrtle Beach!!! I would totally recommend this to anyone for a vacation getaway. Thank You!!!

We stayed in Don and Betty's home for the month of April 2010. Everything is exactly as pictured. My husband would go to the gym and work out and I would take the golf cart to the beach or pool. We would always end our evening with a cocktail in the sunroom. The beds were comfortable and there were a lot of extra amenities. One of the very best things was Randy the neighbor who helped us out a couple of times. I wanted to take him home with me. Wouldn't hesitate to return sometime in the future.

We have stayed in Oceanside Village for several years but this is the nicest place ever! Our dog, Jake, and our 11-year old son really enjoyed the beach and the golf cart. Staying two weeks was wonderful! We had many days on the beach and even got to take our little boat to the inlet for some fishing. We hope to stay hear again! We had a wonderful week at this beach house. Don and Betty have thought of everything when furnishing their home. The kids had a blast as did we.
