We recently stayed at Lupine Lodge and loved it! It was very clean w/updated appliances, beautiful w/nice cabin-like touches and spacious - definitely enough room for our group of 8. The location was a short drive to Heavenly Village as well as the casinos and the lake. We would definitely recommend it to others! :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We rented the house for a family get away, 5 adults and 1 16month old, definitley plenty of room for us all. House was nice, a little run down, carpets needed to be cleaned, light bulbs needed to be replaced, they could have provided a little more amenties such as hand soap and more linens, towels were old and some were stained and smelled of a cheap motel, there were only 2 wine glasses. it was definitely baby proof which was a relief for us. It was a little far from the casinos, about a $25 cab fare. Definitley comfortable and we did have a great time, it was nice having the large dining room table to enjoy our meals and play games. Nice TV to watch movies on and decor was as pictures portrayed.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Everything was very nice. Everything clean. Towels were folded neatly but smudged on top? Nice woodstiove but no wood and no instructions as to whether or not they wanted us to use it, so we left it alone. Easy to find. Warm and well insulated..and it was below zero the week we were there. Beds were all soft and fluffy as opposed to firm. lot's of cookware cups and glasses. easy kitchen, good stove and dishwasher. nice fridge. 2 nice TV's. about an hour to Alpine. 5 minuutes from Heavenly and Town. great fish and chips at mcduffs. nice fine dining at nephelles. It was really very nice and I would gladly rent it again. good communication by email. thanks.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Jeffrey - we're very glad you enjoyed your stay. There should have been a binder with instructions about the woodstove, but I guess we'll need to ensure that it's more prominently placed next time, we're sorry it wasn't easily found. Thanks and we look forward to having you back! best, -Michael

This house was perfect as the center of a recent family weekend get together. The layout allowed for a large number of folks to be in the house without tripping over each other. The bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen was large and equipped with enough dishes, pans and flatware to handle the crowd. The dining room easily accommodated all 10 of us and was a great place to eat and hang out. Large floor cushions added to the number of folks who could enjoy the wood burning fire and television in the living room. The heating and fire kept us warm and snug. We would definitely consider renting this house again, preferably in the summer, when we could enjoy the decks and barbeque. The location would have been perfect in summer, but was a little far away from the stores once it started snowing and the roads got icy.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Georgia - we're so glad you had a great stay at the Lupine Lodge! You're right, it is helpful to have a 4wd vehicle (or at least carry chains) in the winter for the neighborhood in which this property is located. It's fantastic in the summer as well, and we hope to have you back when the weather gets warm! best, -Michael

Everything about our stay was great except for the wait upon check in and less than perfect cleanliness. We arrived at 4 pm on the dot to check in, after a long drive and two small children with us, and the cleaners were still cleaning. They told us they were almost done, and 35 mins later we finally got to check in. We were just standing out front, waiting. The overall cleanliness was okay, but the floors didn't seem to have been cleaned, as there were crumbs in the kitchen and dining room and hair on the floor in both bathrooms. So that was a bit frustrating, but everything else made up for it.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

I stayed here for 5-6 nights with my wife and 2 other friends. The house had everything we could've wanted, including satellite tv with many movie channels and wireless internet. It was great having a kitchen and being able to cook most times of the day. It was a quick drive to any of the heavenly base areas, and not too far from the south lake tahoe restaurants, Kirkwood, and even squaw valley. The only knock is that a few of the lightbulbs needed to be changed. The heating zone of the house was a bit odd too. Certainly nothing to stop coming back. Overall, excellent value for the price! I'd recommend itRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Upon arrival the house looked just like the picture from the outside. As we went inside everything was just as the pictures and possibly better. All of the amenities and pictures posted were true to description. The house was very clean and modern with a lot of space to be able to hang out together as a family or go off to have some alone time. Lupine Lodge will def be considered on future family excursions as well as a friends get together. It is indeed a plus when owners show pride in their rentals with good care and upkeep. The house itself is large enough to have a good sized group in without feeling cramped and still being very cozy. Our kids all loved the game room connected to the bedroom and I loved that the main part of the house had an open design so we could all hang out and cook and watch tv and eat at the same time. Lupine Lodge is conveniently close to the main shopping areas and ski lodges and hiking trails. Also any other Tahoe recreational activity you can think of too all while still being in a quiet quaint neighborhood tucked away in the woods. The only thing I wish Lupine had was a little more cook/bake ware and cooking utensils being we cook so much I was running out of pots and pans and such. There was a good amount of towels and extra bedding in the closets and easy access to laundry which is a plus with kids. Overall our stay was fabulous and everyone had a great time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Rochelle I'm glad to hear you had a great time during your stay at Lupine Lodge! We'd be happy to have you and your family back anytime. Best, Michael

I stayed at this house in January of this year with two other couples (6 people total). Unfortunately, there was no snow so we ended up spending most of our time at the house. Upon arrival, we noticed how beautiful the neighborhood was and how large the house looked. The two car garage would have definitely come into handy if there was snow. The house in itself was absolutely gorgeous. For six people, it was very roomy and very comfortable. Everything was also very clean and neatly put together. The kitchen had more than enough appliances and space to suit our needs. The beds were very comfortable and the decor of the house was modern and cozy. The listing description and the photos were on point, however, one can only truly appreciate this house once they actually stay in it. The owners were also very helpful and nice. They even let us check out later with no problem. This is definitely a great rental for groups up to 8 (young or old). We would definitely return to this house in the future and we have already recommended it to other friends and family.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Marialma, I am happy to hear that you had a great stay regardless of it being snow-less :) We hope to have you back again in the future! Thanks, Michael

My family and I rented the place for 3 nights and it was great! The location was close to everything lake, shopping, dining, etc. The house was clean, well maintained and had everything that we needed. It had all the pots, pans, cooking utensils, spices, and coffee filters. The only thing missing were hand soap for the 2 full baths but we brought our own. There was a hand soap dispenser but it was empty and they filled it w/ water. Michael was great to work with and i would rent this place again. Heavenly village is a nice for the whole family. Check out Taylor creek visitor center, it has a nice trail and FREE. Great burgers at Burger Lounge! I would highly recommend this property to my friends and family.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks Sambo! We look forward to having you back, and we'll be sure to speak with the maintenance crew about the hand soap. Best regards, -Michael
