Great value for a ski rental

Guest: JOE M.
Date of Stay: 02/28/12 Review Submitted: 03/29/12

I stayed here for 5-6 nights with my wife and 2 other friends. The house had everything we could've wanted, including satellite tv with many movie channels and wireless internet. It was great having a kitchen and being able to cook most times of the day. It was a quick drive to any of the heavenly base areas, and not too far from the south lake tahoe restaurants, Kirkwood, and even squaw valley. The only knock is that a few of the lightbulbs needed to be changed. The heating zone of the house was a bit odd too. Certainly nothing to stop coming back. Overall, excellent value for the price! I'd recommend it

Family Tahoe Fun

Upon arrival the house looked just like the picture from the outside. As we went inside everything was just as the pictures and possibly better. All of the amenities and pictures posted were true to description. The house was very clean and modern with a lot of space to be able to hang out together as a family or go off to have some alone time. Lupine Lodge will def be considered on future family excursions as well as a friends get together. It is indeed a plus when owners show pride in their rentals with good care and upkeep. The house itself is large enough to have a good sized group in without feeling cramped and still being very cozy. Our kids all loved the game room connected to the bedroom and I loved that the main part of the house had an open design so we could all hang out and cook and watch tv and eat at the same time. Lupine Lodge is conveniently close to the main shopping areas and ski lodges and hiking trails. Also any other Tahoe recreational activity you can think of too all while still being in a quiet quaint neighborhood tucked away in the woods. The only thing I wish Lupine had was a little more cook/bake ware and cooking utensils being we cook so much I was running out of pots and pans and such. There was a good amount of towels and extra bedding in the closets and easy access to laundry which is a plus with kids. Overall our stay was fabulous and everyone had a great time!

Owner response:Hi Rochelle I'm glad to hear you had a great time during your stay at Lupine Lodge! We'd be happy to have you and your family back anytime. Best, Michael

Cozy, Spacious, and Affordable!

I stayed at this house in January of this year with two other couples (6 people total). Unfortunately, there was no snow so we ended up spending most of our time at the house. Upon arrival, we noticed how beautiful the neighborhood was and how large the house looked. The two car garage would have definitely come into handy if there was snow. The house in itself was absolutely gorgeous. For six people, it was very roomy and very comfortable. Everything was also very clean and neatly put together. The kitchen had more than enough appliances and space to suit our needs. The beds were very comfortable and the decor of the house was modern and cozy. The listing description and the photos were on point, however, one can only truly appreciate this house once they actually stay in it. The owners were also very helpful and nice. They even let us check out later with no problem. This is definitely a great rental for groups up to 8 (young or old). We would definitely return to this house in the future and we have already recommended it to other friends and family.

Owner response:Hi Marialma, I am happy to hear that you had a great stay regardless of it being snow-less :) We hope to have you back again in the future! Thanks, Michael

Great place at affordable price!

My family and I rented the place for 3 nights and it was great! The location was close to everything lake, shopping, dining, etc. The house was clean, well maintained and had everything that we needed. It had all the pots, pans, cooking utensils, spices, and coffee filters. The only thing missing were hand soap for the 2 full baths but we brought our own. There was a hand soap dispenser but it was empty and they filled it w/ water. Michael was great to work with and i would rent this place again. Heavenly village is a nice for the whole family. Check out Taylor creek visitor center, it has a nice trail and FREE. Great burgers at Burger Lounge! I would highly recommend this property to my friends and family.

Owner response:Thanks Sambo! We look forward to having you back, and we'll be sure to speak with the maintenance crew about the hand soap. Best regards, -Michael

I spent my 40th birthday weekend in Tahoe with a few girlfriends and we stayed here. Awesome location, close to casinos and the cabin was wonderful! Spacious, yet cozy at the same time. They have Direct TV. This cabin met all of our needs. We plan on renting it again in the future!

Owner response:We picked this location because although it is in a quiet neighborhood with access to trails, it is conveniently close to shopping and restaurants; the casinos at Stateline; and skiing at Heavenly.

My family and I had a great time at Lupine Lodge. Everything mentioned on the ad was accurate. The house was in tip top condition. I would recommend this to everyone I know. I am considering renting this property out either in the summer or during the winter again. Definitely check this place out.

Fantastic house. The quality was far greater than we expected - the kitchen was superbly appointed. My wife is a keen cook so to have everything (and we mean everything) available and so new was a pleasure. Probably the house was bigger than the pictures make you think. So much better than using a hotel. Comfortable, clean, spacious, with plenty of space and TV room for the teenagers to disappear into after a hard day's skiing. Little things like shampoo etc in the bathroom was unexpected but appreciated. We had a couple of problems with the TV, satellite setup but a couple of phone calls to the office sorted that out and they were willing to come over to the house to help us through it, although it wasn't necessary in the end. Very close to Heavenly and the village. Will definitely recommend to friends, and have every expectation to use it ourselves again. Ian - Auckland, New Zealand. We also rated it 5star - excellent, particularly good for families. Anyway, we had a great stay and will contact you when we need it again.

Staying at this property was a pleasure. It is clean and comfortable with hardwood floors, granite countertops, brand new appliances, and new fixtures. It has all the amenities one could ever want including two flat screen TVs, a satellite connection, and a PlayStation3. It is 5 minutes away from Heavenly, the casinos, and other activities. Finally its secluded location provides privacy. I would definitely stay here again.

Owner response:Thank you for your comments, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!

We spent a memorable 3 nights during New Years with our family at this property and were very pleased. The Lupine house is conveniently located close to supermarkets, skiing and casinos. The layout is perfect w/ the master bedroom on the lower level and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. Everything is new and very clean. The kitchen is fully stocked and has clean and new appliances. We had all our meals at home in the large dining room. We definitely will be back when we visit Tahoe again.

Owner response:We are so glad you enjoyed Lupine Lodge! We hope to welcome you back soon. P.S. Thank you for the lovely snowman in the yard :-).

We want to go back to the Chipmunk House

Guest: Krispix (Sacramento, CA)
Date of Stay: 07/31/09 Review Submitted: 01/14/10

The name of the place is actually Lupine Lodge, but Chipmunk House is what my little girls have dubbed the house. The moniker came from the woodsy murals in the den room that my girls loved bunking in during our stay. I guess they imagined themselves being Chip & Dale in that room. The greatest plus of the house is its location. It's in a quiet subdivision, but just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the S. Tahoe strip. The neighborhood also backs into the Tahoe forest with easy access to hiking and biking trails (it's just a couple blocks away!). For the outdoor adventurers, I would recommend the trails up to High Meadow and Star Lake. After first walking in the house, you are impressed by all the great amenities. The house is beautifully remodeled and very clean. The beds and linens are nice and plush, a luxury for the gals in our group. The outdoor patio and decks are a nice place to relax and hang out. The kitchen came stocked with all the extra amenities I didn't even think about bringing (spices, tupperware, foil, etc) so cooking nice family dinners were easy. It just made you feel right at home. We actually only ate out once and it was at the Original Red Hut Cafe on Lake Tahoe Blvd. It's one of those quirky little places with great food (c'mon they've got bacon waffles) and cheap to boot. They actually have 2 other locations, but the original Hut still has that old diner charm (read its history, it's funny). The only con that my brothers first irked about was the lack of internet. But then at the end of it, they didn't miss it at all. Too much fun going on around. To this date, my girls still ask when we are going to go back to the Chipmunk House. If they want to go back, then you know it's good.

Owner response:Based on our guests' comments, Lupine Lodge now has Internet Access.

The home was PERFECT! Everything was nice and clean. The kitchen was spectacular! It was equipped with just about everything we needed to make good ol' home-cooked meals. The location was great since it was near Lake Tahoe Blvd. The only negative thing we could say was no internet access. However, at the end of the weekend, we realized that we didn't even need it!! We enjoyed our stay and wished we had stayed one more night. I would highly recommend this home for 2 small families. Furthermore, I would definitely come back again!

Owner response:We appreciate your comments very much. In response, we have added Internet Access to Lupine Lodge.

This was a great place to stay. We had seven people, and everyone comfortably fit in the house. There were a lot of little details that made a big difference, like a Satellite TV, a really nice BBQ, high end appliances and cookware, and a PS 3 (we didn't play any games, but we did rent a blu-ray). I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a home base for their ski weekend.
