Panoramic and breathtaking 180-degree Columbia River, Bridge of the Gods, and Cascade Mountain views will amaze you in this spectacular new 2500 sq ft, 3-level, 3 bedroom + 2 bath Columbia River waterfront home with riverfront grounds, patios, and deck. You will feel on vacation the minute you walk through the door and see the water thru a wall of windows just steps away! This paradise vacation retreat is located in the historical quaint town of Stevenson, Washington only 40 miles east of Portland and 15 minutes west of Hood River, in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Our home is one of only a few located directly on the Columbia River, and is in one of the best kite boarding, wind surfing, and sailing spots in the world.

The easy, low-bank river access from this home to your own private cove offers the ideal launching area for wind surfing, dinghy sailing, kayaking, stand up paddle, fishing, rafting, and swimming (no motorized boats or jet skis allowed on property or near beach). Summer months provide consistent NW winds and sunny skies to enjoy all these water activities in this highly-desirable location. You are right on the water with a front row seat to watch all the competitions throughout the summer including international sailing (World Moth), windsurfing (Gorge Blowout), kite boarding (Bridge of the Gods), standup paddle, & Gorge Outrigger races.

You can leave your car parked once you arrive, as you are in the center of it all, an easy 1-2 block stroll to shops, grocery store, cafes, main street restaurants, Walking Man Brewery, waterfront restaurant, parks and kiteboard beach. Stevenson is home to the annual Blues & Brews, Wine & Jazz, Bluegrass and Hoptoberfest festivals, and weekly farmer's market. Skamania Lodge with golf course and spa is only 1+ mile to the west. Bonneville Hot Springs Resort and Bonneville Dam are 5 miles west, while Carson Hot Springs Resort is 5 miles east. You'll enjoy beautiful drives east along the river to Hood River, White Salmon, and the incredible Maryhill Museum of Art with an unbelievable Rodin collection, French Art Nouveau Glass, Native American exhibit, and Stonehenge replica. The scenery and views are truly breathtaking. This is also a great area for hiking, biking, rock climbing, fishing, rafting & riverboarding on the White Salmon River, visiting wineries & museums, etc. After a day of activities, you'll love coming home to relax on your own private waterfront just in time to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of wine or a cold beer. It doesn't get better than this!

This new home includes all new furniture, linens, washer & dryer, Local & French TV, DVD/VCR, Video Library, CD Stereo System, etc. Large, open living areas let you spread out and enjoy the beautiful interior with slate floors and awesome views through the many large windows and sliding glass doors. Gorgeous vaulted ceilings are found in both the main-level living room and in the upstairs bedrooms and bath. The spacious living room has a wood-burning fireplace with a beautiful stone hearth. There's one bedroom on this level and two bedrooms upstairs. Both levels have bathrooms with shower. Two bedrooms have spectacular river views. The home has gas heat and air conditioning, but the summer breeze typically keeps the house at a very comfortable natural temperature.

The main-level dining area very comfortably seats everyone at the table, and the kitchen has all new stainless appliances, gas stove & electric convection oven, with all the conveniences of home for preparing simple meals or gourmet feasts. This level’s bar/lounge room has a vintage rattan bar for mixing your favorite cocktails, and opens onto a large riverfront deck with amazing views for taking in all of the waterfront action. The lower level has a family room with a gas-fired woodstove, and leads directly to a stone patio with steps to the river. You’ll find plenty of outdoor seating and tables, along with a new gas BBQ for summer grilling, alfresco dining and lounging. There is room near the patios for drying and storing wetsuits, boards, etc., including a lockable storage area for all your gear.

Please Note: The railroad runs near the river through the gorge. Most of us quickly get used to the sounds, but some people may be bothered by the trains. Maximum occupancy is 6 (including children), and 2 cars at all times. No pets No smoking. We hope you'll enjoy your stay in our home and come back often! Be sure to stop along the way to visit the historical Crown Point Vista House (exit 22), Multnomah Falls (exit 28 or 31), and Bonneville Dam (exit 40).

Everything was wonderful - we loved your home. Everything was very clean. The views are beyond beautiful. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. We are going home but leaving our hearts here...

Just wanted to drop you a note before we leave in the morning. Your home is beautiful and the view has been spectacular. We own a second home in the Bahamas on the beach, which was my dream, and I can see how this was yours. We have had a fabulous time and it was very relaxing. The house is very well equipped. Nice appliances, nice bedding, very clean and the landscaping is beautiful. You have done a very nice job. We hope to come back!

This is one of the most amazing getaways imaginable. The house is large, cozy, and has panoramic views of the water and mountain, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere of the home. We were able to kayak and windsurf directly from the property, just steps from the patio. A perfect retreat home! We were sad to leave and would definitely love to return.

    • We rented this house three weeks last summer. We chose Stevenson as it is a great base for a Gorge vacation. Everything was as advertised--this place will not disappoint. The home is very clean and high standing, with open space and vaulted cielings, great privacy, and magnificient views of the water and Columbia gorge scenery. Few places in the Gorge are right on the water with private beach, yet pretty much in town. We loved being able to walk to the cafes and breweries for a dinner or lunch out, or just stay at home to enjoy the deck, and outside waterfront living. We windsurfed right out of the house, or drove a few minutes to the Hatchery or Doug's. On hot "nuking" days when we had sailed East, it was so nice to come home to Stevenson and enjoy a cooler evening and quiet winds, with a sip of wine on the patio. We will definitely come back.
