The perfect escape from suburbia!

My wife and I recently brought our 3 toddlers to Rancho No Tengo for a 2 week summer vacation. It was very peaceful and secluded with plenty of space for the kids to run around and dozens of deer to watch. We kept our boat at the marina only a couple of miles away, so not only did we get a good taste of living "in the country" but were also able to spend a few hours almost every day playing in Canyon Lake. Most of our evenings were spent on the awesome patio just "grillin and chillin", and the kids loved sleeping in the bunkhouse at night. Day trips to Seaworld, the Texas Wildlife Safari, Gruene TX, and too many other fun places to list were very convenient due to the location of the property. The property owner was as friendly and accommodating as she could be, and went to great lengths to be sure we had a wonderful time. We would highly recommend Rancho No Tengo to anyone looking for a beautiful and serene place to unwind.

Had a Wonderful time!

We spent a week at Rancho No Tengo in June 2010. It was a very peaceful location, yet close enough to other activities in San Antonio and other surrounding areas without significant travel time required. We found the home to be very pleasantly decorated and fully furnished. We thoroughly enjoyed waking up and going to bed with the deer. We had a total of 23 deer on one morning alone! The owners were very interested in making our experience a nice one. We had a Wonderful time!

Great lake and country retreat

Guest: Gail F (Missouri City, Texas)
Date of Stay: 10/01/09 Review Submitted: 10/14/09

We visited Rancho No Tengo Oct 1, 09. It is a beautiful country setting with lots of deer to feed, large front porch with beautiful views, and a large patio area with a barbeque and firepit. The house is decorated in "Texas Country" and very comfortable. Everything is there to make for a great getaway. The house is close to the lake and not far from Gruene and New Braunfels. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again. Gail

We wanted a hill country retreat close to home and we got more than we bargained for!!!! Our kids loved playing in "the Country" and had fun playing in the rain. We stayed over spring break when the cold front hit, so the fireplace was put to good use roasting marshmallows! We hope to come back soon. Thank you so much for your hospitality! The house really feels like a home!

What a delightful place to escape from it all. It was wonderful to get away from San Antonio to the peace and tranquility of Canyon Lake for a quick weekend. Our kids loved watching the deer, going to nature hikes and playing on your swings! Your home is lovely and well put together. Thank you for sharing it with us. Our family will be returning soon!
