Quaint 3 bedroom home with a fully fenced and pet friendly yard, perfectly outfitted for 2 couples with or without children. The cabin is complete with bicycles including 2 bicycles built for two. The house is completely furnished with linens and towels, kitchen ware, barbecue and yard furniture.
Situated at the beginning of the Forest Bike Trail that leads to Camp Richardson, Pope Beach, Baldwin Beach, Kiva Beach, Fallen Leaf Lake and Emerald Bay Bear Crossing is a great “home-base” for Sierra activities of all kinds. With the beaches so close, the available bicycles and local mass transit (called BlueGo), it's quite possible to park your car until you leave.
Activities galore await you; In the summer, it's just a moderate walk or bike ride to the beaches for summer lake fun, while in the winter there is the Nordic Center at Camp Richardson to entice your day. Nightlife is just as fantastic, with all the excitement of Stateline Nevada just minutes away and the peacefulness of the national forest right next door.
Summer: Bicycle your way to the most beautiful beaches of Lake Tahoe for a swim in the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe, sunbathing or maybe a beachside barbecue. For a special treat, take the trail to Fallen Leaf Lake for an Alpine swimming adventure. The cabin is supplied with bicycles but if more are needed Anderson's Bicycle Rental is there to help and less than a 5 minute walk from the cabin.
Winter: Whether you like to skate through the forest on freshly groomed cross-country ski trails or prefer to trek on snow-shoes through the virgin fresh powder of a recent snow fall, winter solstice awaits you at the Nordic Center of Camp Richardson less than a mile away. The cabin is equipped with 3 sets of snow-shoes and 1 pair of cross-country skies but rentals are available at the Nordic Center at Camp Richardson.
Evening: Enjoy an outdoor fire on the year round patio as the 2 million stars magically appear overhead (there's actually 2,302,003 stars I found a few more the other day). As the evening winds down you can retreat to a wonderful movie on the big screen TV with 5.1 surround sound system. We'll include two free Block Buster movie rentals with any rental of 5 days or more.
Morning: The mornings are just a glorious with the sun rising and the morning sunlight filtering in through the pines. Maybe it's a wonderful morning to get in some early skiing on the many ski slopes, an adventurous hike along the many trails with magnificent vistas, or just enjoy a cup of coffee on the patio.
