This newly remodeled home is located on the ocean side of Summerland Key, it sits on the most beautiful turquoise colored, crystal clear and swimmable canal you will ever have the pleasure of playing in. Enjoy the 60 foot concrete dock complete with a swim ladder and a five thousand pound davit. If you are a "high-flier" Summerland Key has it's own landing strip with the availability to store your plane.
If you have never had the pleasure of visiting Summerland Key, you will find that it has the best water and neighbors in the Keys. It is a boater's paradise, having the easiest channels in the Keys that will accomodate large boats. Just minutes to Picnic Island and it's sandy beaches, deep sea fishing, Content Key with the best lobstering around and flats fishing right under the bridge to the Gulf of Mexico. If you decide our home is not right for you, we definitely suggest you stay in this aquatic paradise.
For the boater, navigate the canal in one direction to a waterfront fuel station with a bait and tackle shop; navigate in the other direction eight minutes and the canal leads you past luxurious homes, with no bridges, direct to the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Bring your own boat, rent one locally or hire a charter from one of the Key's captains. A fish cleaning station is available for your convenience.
For the diving and snorkeling enthusiast, we are located minutes away from the Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary for some of the best reef diving in the Keys. The Adolphous Bush wreck dive provides a deep 80-100 foot wonderful diving experience. Dive boats leave daily or you can just jump into the canal and start exploring. Walk across the street to the ocean and snorkel to the reef right off the coast for some excellent sight seeing and lobstering. You can always take a trip to Camp Pennington State Park for another beautiful underwater adventure. Want to impress the kids, drop the trap and let them see the lobster or colorful fish they have caught during the night. Swim with the dolphin on adjoining Keys or take an ecotour and view the abundant wildlife in the sea, in the air and on the land.
The home is located in an upscale, quiet neighborhood filled with friendly people. The area is great for boating, canoeing, kayaking, biking and walking. Boats, canoes and kayakes can be locally rented. Walk or bike to shopping, restaurants, beauty salon and spa. The island also has a post office and market/deli. Nightly live entertainment and great dining is just a short ride away.
The lower Keys are the largest and least developed in the island chain. We are in the middle of a peaceful wonderment and only 25 miles from the electricity of Key West where you can rent a scooter, visit museums, live entertainment, theaters, shopping, tours and for the young at heart, don't forget the "Duval Crawl".
We are ten minutes from Bahia Honda State Park chosen as one of the World's best beaches. Bring your camera, the sunsets are awesome. Visit the flea market held every Saturday and Sunday at Big Pine Key and always keep an eye out for the local art fairs and other festivals.
The home is decorated with Keys decor. Upstairs are two bedrooms and two baths. One bedroom has two trundle beds and sleeps four while the other has a queen size bed. The living area is open with plenty of room for sitting and watching TV, enjoying the DVD and reading libraries or playing board games with the family. The kitchen is large with stainless steel appliances and an island that sits six. All this opens to the outdoors with two French doors leading to a huge lanai where you can relax, have a marguerita or just enjoy the view.
Downstairs is an unfinished separate unit that has a bed. Thru French doors is a lovely patio where six people can sit to eat and enjoy the BBQ. In for some competition, enjoy the pool table! There is also a private outside shower for your convenience.
The home is fully equipped. All you need to bring is your personal items. We have information and coupons for the Keys to make your trip even easier. We have wonderful neighbors, but you have lots of privacy, thanks to the tropical trees and privacy fences.
