We really enjoy staying at this home. There is plenty of room to spread out and the kitchen is well-stocked in case you've forgotten something. It is especially nice for us because we bring our father-in -law with us who can only negotiate a couple of steps, so once he's up on the porch, he can stay upstairs and it is a one level stay for him.

This property was one of the best (if not the best) that we have rented from vrbo. Everything was just as advertised. The place was clean and well maintained and was just as displayed in the photos. We would recommend this property to anyone. Although there are many activities, attractions and restaurants nearby we did not use any other than the post office, Walmart and the local bait shop on the way there. We didn't move the car the entire 3 nights and 4 days there with the grandsons. We fished and played in the hilly yard, built a couple of fires, cooked some hot dogs over the fire and had a grand time. The weather was a bit cool and this fish were not very active but we caught some and that was all that was necessary. We plan to go back when the weather is better in the spring and use that paddle boat and the kyacks. What a wonderful place.

Beautiful Weekend

We had a wonderful time staying here. Of course the weather played in our favor but the amenities were perfect. The view is beautiful and the house was the perfect size and comfort for our family. We spent most of our time lounging on the dock swimming, boating and fishing. My grandchildren had the best time catching fish. We even managed to get a cozy fire going in the firepit and everyone took some time sitting, chatting and relaxing. We couldn't have had a better time together as a family and will be looking to stay here again in the future.

Wonderful Week on Hyco Lake

The lake water was like bath water, very clean and clear. We spent our week exploring the lake, skiing, tubing, wake boarding, eating and relaxing. What a great way to spend a much needed family vacation. This house was so cozy and fully equipped with all the extras. We loved the deck on the boat house. Our 3 year old loved jumping off the dock, watching the fish swim, and fish right off the dock. I highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a worry/hassel free place to stay. Thanks Bob for a great house and we are making plans to book a weekend soon!

Wonderful family time

We really enjoyed everything from the swimming, the paddle boat for exploring, the "movie room", the boat house (with music), and the evening campfires. So many supplies were present that I didn't have to feel like I forgot anything. Thank you for being very helpful in responding to my emails. This is a great place to take a family!

Incredible Track Weekend

The house is amazing and right on the lake with amazing view! 10 of us stayed for a Track day a VIR, which took us less then 15 mins to get to. The house was clean and had everything you could ask for. Would def recommend and will be back for the next trip! Thank you!

Great Race Weekend

The house was exceptionally clean and the "welcome packet " was a nice touch. We came to the area for a track weekend at VIR with our auto club. The house is in a great location to VIR and not too far from restaurants, etc. in Roxboro. We enjoyed our stay at the house.

Our family really enjoyed our weekend at your home. Thank you for renting it to us on such short notice. We were all able to relax and have a good time together before my husband's surgery. Great Experience!!

We stayed the second week in August with family. There was 7 of us and we were very comfortable. The house is spacious and as advertised. The kids were able to swim off the dock and they had a terrific time. The decks offered a great view and the firepit area was a terrific way to unwind after a long day. It was very quiet during the week. There are TV's in the bedrooms, all appliances, dvd, vcr and internet/phone service. I would highly recommend and look forward to next years vacation.

Excellent experience from start to finish

If you are looking for a house in this area I strongly recommend this property. We were in the area and found it to be a beautiful base for our couple weeks. There are two nice bedrooms upstairs. And then two more downstairs. There is a large living room. An easy to use kitchen, a nice big grill out on the deck which over-looks the lake. There are two good bathrooms. Laundry. The dock/deck is a great place to hang out at the end of the day. Most importantly, the owner is a pleasure to work with. Everything was as advertised. Everything was really clean. You'll enjoy it.

The 1 negative comment was from an international guest, that complained about a $4.95 charge subtracted from his full security refund for an International money order purchase. This French Canadian did not understand, that I spent two hours locating/driving to a local post office to return his $195.05 security deposit with an Int'l Money Order.

My family and I stayed here the weekend of my wedding. It couldn't have been more perfect! The beautiful house and beautiful scenery allowed our family to truly enjoy our time together even more. Me and my boyfriend stayed here two weeks ago and were amazed at how beautiful and serene this lake house was. We both thought the pictures did not do any justice and you have to visit to capture the entire beauty of this place. We had an excellent stay and were extrememly happy with every aspect of the house. It was thoroughly cleaned and well stocked with plenty of items. We will be back soon for another wonderful, relaxing weekend!

We have rented several different cottages on Lake Hyco and Lake Mayo for each of the last 5 years and the Bodey’s lake house has been the best. When you combine the cottage facility, the water, the dock, the nearness to the boat ramps, marina and stores you have an ideal set up. We would strongly recommend the Bodey’s Lakehouse to anyone who is looking for a great cottage experience. We also took the 30 mile ride one Sat. night to South Boston and went to the car races at the speedway -- Great fun for the kids and adults. We will be back!

This was such a wonderful place to stay at. It was very nice, clean, comfy and roomy for everyone. We all had a great time at the lake and the house was the perfect place to relax after a long busy day. The owners were very friendly and pleasant to rent from. I don’t think any of us was ready to leave. We will definitely be back. Thanks again!

When our parents ask us if we want to go on a road trip, we always beg them to go back to the Lake House. We are allowed to play all day and it's safe and fun. When we go here it's nice because everyone has something to do that's fun, like fishing, swimming, making S'Mores and campfires. We hike and explore and our parents don't get worried like at the hotels. This is my favorite place. I always want to come here with my brothers and family.

We have stayed in this lovely home on many occasions, and would not consider staying anywhere else! Clean, quiet, beautiful, well-stocked, and very, very comfortable. We don't regret a dollar or a minute spent and will be back at least a few times each year. Thank you for such a peaceful vacation spot!
