CASA JAVA

This house was first built 300 years ago on the Indonesian island of Java.
Now, thanks to our family's deep connection to Indonesia, this beautiful ancient teak house stands on Santa Teresa's charming, endless white sand, most exclusive northern beach.

We are near the famous FlorBlanca (as featured in Vogue's most exclusive Hotels)and Milarepa, in front of perfect surf. Our sunsets are famous.

Casa Java oozes a cozy funkiness at the same time has a slick and modern look. It has been converted into a modern, super comfortable house whilst retaining all the wonderful 300 years old original features of ancient hardwood, beautiful painted wooden balconies and stunning carvings on door/window frames.

Casa Java is very romantic, like a jewel, and perfect for Honeymooners or just "chilled" holiday makers.

Engulfed by exotic plants and lush jungle, we are often visited by the local Iguanas, all sorts of tropical bird species and the beautiful Howler Monkeys famous for their loud barking

  • We just finished a fantastic five night stay at the incredible Casa Java and I can't write enough good things about our vacation. Our family of four really enjoyed the home and Santa Teresa area. The typical day included multiple walks on the beach, looking at tidepools/dense jungle/incredible rock formations, surfing, swimming in the cool pool or warm ocean, lounging about Casa Java on the comfortable furniture, delicious breakfasts (rice & beans, fresh fruit and eggs), watching howler monkeys in the trees, horse rides (stable on site!), the list goes on and on... The owner was very helpful and friendly, as was the staff -- Providing for us an incredibly comfortable and luxurious visit we will remember forever. Thanks again!

  • I have just spent a glorious week over Easter break here and loved every minute. This guest house is perfect for 2 couples or a small family with a kitchen and bathrooms & your own private infinity plunge pool you don't need much else - don't bother with a nature tour -it comes to you -Howler monkeys,iguana, bird life galore. Best yet the beachfront setting & proximity to Flora Blanca hotel with new spa and very nice food. Tres restaurant is even better right across road - safe, relaxing and wonderfully maintained and delightfully managed by owner - no need to look elsewhere! Nice to have a car but you can rent once you are here on easy flight from san jose to tambor. Very good value and excellent housekeeping services
