Paradise! Perfect Blend of Luxury and Nature!

We visited Santa Teresa from 1/6-1/13 2012. Staying at Casa Java was a dream. The house is the perfect blend of luxury and nature. The bedrooms are crisp and cool set in teak wood, and the outdoor shower is fabulous. The open air living space is incredible- you can be basically in the pool and the living room at the same time. There are day beds for lounging all throughout the property- a different tropical nap each day. The staff was courteous and helpful, and we received a beautiful spread for breakfast each morning. We could not have asked for a better location in the Santa Teresa / Mal Pais area. It is a 5 minute drive to town. We could still get to all the restaurants and bars in town, but come back to our peaceful and private haven. The beach out front is wide and perfectly sandy. We surfed multiple times each day directly in front of the house. There is also a great little restaurant "Al Chile Viola" directly across the street where we had amazing cocktails- ginger mojitos and hibiscus tea concoctions. Other great restaurants were Koji for some of the best sushi ever, Zula for lunch pitas, Brisas del Mar for dinner and amazing view, Vista de Olas for swim up bar and another amazing view, and a fantastic restaurant in Montezuma called Playa de los Artistas- directly on the beach. This trip will give us fond memories to last a lifetime- we definitely hope to return! Thanks to Rachel and Carlota for everything.

Just wanted to take a minute to express what an awesome home "Casa Java" is. Its a beautiful private home right on the beach. We just got back from our vacation and our experience with the area and the house far exceeded our expectations. The staff was awesome. The house, pool, beach was "wow" !! I knew that the pictures shown on the website were beautiful but once we arrived the house was even more than what we had expected. Its very comfortable, beautifully decorated, awesome location, great staff. The peace, beauty and tranquility surrounding us was priceless. The surfing is truly the best, Not to mention the best instructor "Mick" from down under...,Australia :) . We had the best quality time as a family. We got to enjoy this beautifullly decorated sanctuary of a home with a view to the beach and plush jungle like surroundings. We rented ATV's for 24 hours and were all over Santa Teresa, Montezuma. Its a great way to stop and explore the area, beaches, waterfalls etc. We bought groceries and made nice lunches/dinners while enjoying the view .We also enjoyed eating out, lots of places to eat The security was great, always felt safe.. We thought 5 nigts was going to be to much but at the end we would of loved to have stayed longer. I can go on and on. We will be back and could not stay anywhere else but Casa Java... well maybe Casa Capitan (same owner & next Door Property) if we come in a big group... :) Thank you CARLOTA!!!! eternally grateful!!

Naturally luxurious

We were a group of 6 and planned to stay 10 days Casa Java. I have visited Costa Rica many times, but this was my first stay in Santa Teresa. We felt so at home we extended our trip 5 mores days and would have moved in if possible. It was the perfect balance of nature and luxury. You are steps away from the most beautiful beach with incredible sunsets and waves if you surf. A couple in the group took lessons from the recommended instructor Mick and were catching waves by the end of the stay. There are good restaurants close by, but we also bought fresh fish from the port in Mal Pais and made ceviche and guacamole at home. We put the blender to good use too with all of the fresh fruit available. The outdoor living area with the pool is so comfortable, we relaxed at home much of the time. I can’t say enough about the home and the property.

We just finished a fantastic five night stay at the incredible Casa Java and I can't write enough good things about our vacation. Our family of four really enjoyed the home and Santa Teresa area. The typical day included multiple walks on the beach, looking at tidepools/dense jungle/incredible rock formations, surfing, swimming in the cool pool or warm ocean, lounging about Casa Java on the comfortable furniture, delicious breakfasts (rice & beans, fresh fruit and eggs), watching howler monkeys in the trees, horse rides (stable on site!), the list goes on and on... The owner was very helpful and friendly, as was the staff -- Providing for us an incredibly comfortable and luxurious visit we will remember forever. Thanks again!

I have just spent a glorious week over Easter break here and loved every minute. This guest house is perfect for 2 couples or a small family with a kitchen and bathrooms & your own private infinity plunge pool you don't need much else - don't bother with a nature tour -it comes to you -Howler monkeys,iguana, bird life galore. Best yet the beachfront setting & proximity to Flora Blanca hotel with new spa and very nice food. Tres restaurant is even better right across road - safe, relaxing and wonderfully maintained and delightfully managed by owner - no need to look elsewhere! Nice to have a car but you can rent once you are here on easy flight from san jose to tambor. Very good value and excellent housekeeping services
