This is the perfect hacienda for large parties looking for an adventure into the Panama highlands. The home is in Valle Escondido, the premier gated subdivision in the Boquete area, a 5 minute drive away from the center of town. Your drive into the subdivision winds through the golf course, a charming small pueblo with many shops, restaurant and cantina, and up the hillside toward the top, where our home has a commanding view of the valley.
With four bedrooms, each with private baths and two additional rooms that can become bedrooms for larger groups, our beautiful home can accommodate groups of family or friends from 8-12 people. Each side of the horseshoe shaped hacienda has its own kitchen, dining room, great room and fireplace, TV and stereo systems. You can gather the group together in the central covered terrace area for a barbecue, looking out past the fountain to the rainforest on the other side of the valley.
Even though you are in a subdivision, you'll feel like you'll have the valley all to yourself, watching colorful tropical birds on our feeder or soaring lazily overhead, listening to the sound of the stream below or just putting your feet up with a good book, enjoying the mild springtime temperatures that Boquete has year-round. For those who prefer a more active vacation, the rainforest lies at your feet, with more to do than you'll have time for, just moments away--and you'll absolutely love the gentle people of Boquete. A few days there, and you'll never want to leave. That's why we call it Hacienda Salsipuedes (leave if you can!)

Year Purchased: 2005
Connie and Jeff Mullen built the hacienda in 2005 with their good friends, Nancy and Bruce Henson. We each use one side of the hacienda when we are down there visiting, and can rent out each side individually (see listing #208264) or altogether for larger parties. We love Boquete, but our schedules keep us stateside most of the time, so we would love to have you enjoy our home, and treat it gently until we can spend more time down there in the future!
Why the Owner Chose Boquete
We chose to build our future retirement home in Boquete for several reasons. We love the gentle climate, the stunning rain forest, the beautiful birds, the adventure opportunities of every kind, the unparalleled Panamanian coffee, the healthy and inexpensive fruits and vegetables, most of them grown right in the valley, the safety, the laid back lifestyle, and most of all the wonderful welcoming Panamanian people. Warning--be prepared to fall in love with Boquete if you decide to come!

Our hacienda is designed to be wide open, comfortable, casual and fun. The many windows and sliding door bring the outside inside. You can be as active or as reclusive as you like--there is something for every taste. Nature lovers need go no further than the back balcony to breathe in the rain forest, but if excitement is your game, there are ATV's for rent, ziplines to ride, white water rafts to float, charter boats to take, quetzals and other amazing birds to view on walks into the heart of the forest. And world class coffee, estate grown nearby, can be sampled with a new brew every day.
