  This week has been a wonderful week for our family! We greatly appreciate this wonderful house and all the amenities! My two kids, 8 and 10 yrs. of age both broke their water fears! We spent most of the time down at the lake, the guys spent a lot of the night catfishing. My dad caught the biggest of all, 5 lbs.! We all went jet skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, which I finally was able to master getting up; staying up is another story, LOL!, and skiing. Well just say, we were all pooped out by the end of the day! All I can say is our family had the greatest time together, seeing we all live in different parts of Virginia, so it was time well spent and very much needed! We definitely plan on coming back again next year! Thank you so much! Until next time.

  This week was amazing! One of the best days we rented a pontoon and rode across the lake. We found a place called Goat Island which we called Sacrifice Island where they sacrifice goats to the sea monster. Then we ran into a 34-pound fish with the boat. Sadly it got away. Poor fish. Our Aunt finally caught her first fish at the age of 29. Our 8-year-old swam nonstop across the cove and wanted to swim more. And our daughter, our 1-year-old is a natural water baby! Another FABULOUS year at Lakeside Leisure! Thank you for your house!!!

  June 2-July 7, 2012 This is our 3rd house on the lake and is by far the best. We enjoyed swimming and boating on the water. The dock was excellant with plenty of room for our boats. The house has wonderful amenities such as the paddle boat, pool table, and air hockey table. There was enough room for everyone to comfortably sleep and shower. We loved watching and rating people put their boats in the water at the boat ramp. Thanks for sharing your lake house. We had a great time. We look forward to coming again. Notes from the children-- I celebrated my 7th birthday here. I loved skiing and riding the aquaslide. This year I learned to use one ski. I loved the pool table and had a great time fishing.

  Our best family vacation ever. House had all the necessities and more. Spent most of the time on boat dock and on the water. Great lake for skiing and tubing--adult and elementary grandchildren alike loved the spot and being together. Thanks for your kindness.

Thank you for sharing your hidden paradise. I had a fun time here, the view was beautiful and the fishing was fun! I spent some quality time with my best friend and her family.   I had fun! Especially the swimming! I had a great time! Loved ping pong!! I had a wonderful time especially hanging out with my friends. I had a good time and going swimming with [] and [].I had a good time tubing with my friends and going swimming with them too. Swimming. Needless to say, we had an amazing time. 6 kids, 6 adults, and zero complaints! This is our second return to your lovely home, and we hope to return again same time next year. The two boys learned to waterski like champs and the girls belly-laughed for days…it was everything a vacation should be—good friends, good times, memories created on the lake to last for days. Thank you!

  What a wonderful vacation home! We were here with our daughter, son-in-law, 4 yr. old grandson—who loved doing “cannonballs” off the pier! We brought our Sea-Doo & enjoyed exploring and tubing with it! Our first day here we visited Rosemont Winery & really enjoyed our experience there! On Wednesday, we rented a pontoon boat & spent 7 hours on the lake! We have enjoyed fishing at night and got some “little fishes” which was exciting for our little [4 yr. old grandson]. Unfortunately, we had to leave a couple of days early because of having to prepare our homes for the arrival of Hurricane Irene. We are from Washington, NC & get hit hard with storm surge from hurricanes! But we have enjoyed being here & felt right at home! Another high was going to The Pointe at Eaton’s Ferry Bridge—great food & [4 yr. old grandson] loved feeding the huge catfish & bass at the pier there!!

  July 30-August 6, 2011 We had a fantastic time at your house! We caught tons of fish (the trick is chicken liver). The biggest was 23 inches and 4 pounds. (The seven year old kid caught it.) Catfish! The white loops around the dock we used as Noodleville where all 18 noodles lived. … had a dream of playing Bingo so he went on Thursday and won $20. He would have won more but he was all confused because the lady across from him is all like, “Honey, pay attention. Honey, you have to pay attention.” And she kept stamping his card for him. … had a horseshoe championship. Mom won. Three ringers and a leaner! Eleven points in about 5 minutes!!! The lake is very quiet and relaxing. The cove is fantastic. The neighborhood is quiet and good for walking. The little kids from … loved collecting clam shells. They even found big, huge ones with meat. They would like stairs going into the shallow end though. Stairs or a ladder. The bugs in the house [coming in from the open doors] were annoying, but every perfect place has a downside. We hate to leave and we plan on coming back next year. Thanks! The house was epic! Fishing was great, tons of catfish off the dock, way better than Smith Mountain Lake. The End.

  We so enjoyed the week at this wonderful house! The weather started out hot (over 100?) but rains on Monday and Tuesday nights cooled it down considerably. Other than having a great time boating, eating and relaxing, two highlights were: *Goats on Goat Island! Very sweet but they’ll jump your boat and try to come home with you. *Cows cooling themselves in the waters beyond the causeway—just saw them one day. Fun times!!

  July 2-9, 2011 Thanks for the great memories! The house was so wonderfully filled with everything we would need. Even though we saw lots of rain we never got bored. We played games, ping pong, fished and of course used most everything in the garage. I am pretty certain we will be getting a badminton set now (it was a blast.)   Apr. 27-May 1, 2011 Thank you so much for your wonderful lakeside home! We had a family reunion with our three children and their families (including 3 grandchildren)! A special birthday celebration spread through the week—including a book of photo memories, written memories from family and friends (from all over), skits, games, songs, and of course ice cream! The special gift was the arrival of a local photographer (Les Atkins) who spent several hours taking family portraits (on the deck, lawn, dock)—some formal & some informal. What a wonderful present that we can all share for a long time! We will treasure our time together relaxing, fishing, boating, laughing, eating, and celebrating.

  April 16-23, 2011 Just a lovely vacation on the lake. House was great with all amenities. Peaceful, serene, relaxing, enjoyable, and scenic is the best I can describe this vacation at Lakeside Leisure. Must return soon! This was the best escape from reality. My favorite part of this vacation was the white duck and the mallard came every morning and evening for food. The weather was amazing and I felt like I was in a movie playing my guitar by the lakeside. Great vacation!

  My cousin and his friends told us about this amazing lake home, so we decided to book it for ourselves! This was a mini vacation for my husband, my parents and my sister's family! We has traveled to beaches and new york city but by far this was the most relaxing! My dad who is very hard to please said that this was the best vacation he had ever been on! Every family had privacy in there own rooms with tv's which helped you escape the family drama! We loved being able to dock our boat, and fish right from the dock! We brought maryland blue crabs from home and enjoyed them on the outdoor deck, which is our family's favorite thing to do! The home was clean and big enough to fit our large family comfortably! The size of the fish in the lake are huge, which made the trip for the guys! The paddle boat, horseshoe pits, and game room gave everyone something to do, which was awesome! thank you so much for such a wonderful getaway! We are coming back again this year with my husbands family for another incrediable getway!

However, we got together with old friends and had a wonderful time. There is everything here that we needed. Today is our last full day & the sky is a beautiful blue.   July 31-August 7, 2010 It’s our last evening here. Can’t believe it’s over already. I think we need 2 weeks next year. We enjoyed having other family members join us, [who] traveled approx. 20 hours from Missouri. My dad from western MD and [others] who live nearby in Dunn, NC and were able to drop by for a couple of days. So what did we do while we were here? Mostly relaxed, swam, and took our two boats out to fish and pull the Super Mabel [towable] we recently purchased. We also enjoyed the paddle boat (especially the kids) and the well stocked house (kids played Uno, Clue & Monopoly). The ping pong table & garage games were hits as well. Our 9 yr. old son took an hour wakeboard lesson around the corner at Adam [Fields’] Wakeboard School. His instructor was Bryan. He had a blast and made for a memorable moment (tip: if you use your own boat it’s cheaper). The cove ducks also paid us several visits, which the kids liked & many turtles poked their heads out to watch us too. Fishing was good. My husband caught a 5 lb. bass the first morning. Started the week off w/ a bang. No one ever topped it but it made for a good challenge. One of our other anglers caught a 3 lb. catfish right off the dock midday with everyone splashing around. Never had a chance to try out any of the lake restaurants with the exception of Toppers pizza delivery one night (very tasty) and Andy’s for a chicken Philly & cheeseburger the first day we arrived. Made a few trips to Food Lion and prepared the majority of our meals here. Finally we watched a few movies but we really didn’t have the time too much. Too many other activities to keep everyone busy. The weather cooperated nicely too so much of our time was spent outside. Would certainly consider staying @ Lakeside Leisure again. Perfect lake location and great house layout for multiple families. Thanks to the owners for sharing their home for others to enjoy & to the ladies @ Waterfront Properties for their assistance.

  July 17-24, 2010 Well time to leave tomorrow. We have really enjoyed our week here at Lake Gaston. It is our first time—our friends just moved from Williamsburg, VA to the Raleigh-Durham area & we already miss them terribly. This location is half way between our home & their new home, so it makes a great meeting place. The house is so well equipped! We have rented quite a few vacation homes before—never have they had all the amenities you have here. In fact, the next time we come back, our load will be much lighter! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us—we hope to be back soon!

  July 10-17, 2010 This house is lovely. Thank you! Our family thoroughly enjoyed the week of boating, fishing, and swimming. The paddle boat is a big hit with our boys (ages 10 and 7). My oldest son keeps beating me at ping-pong. But we’re having a blast. We appreciate the house being so well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, etc. Thank You!

  July 10-17, 2010 This is our 2nd trip to Lake Gaston & it's awesome. I was very impressed with how well stocked the house is, it made us feel so welcome. My son celebrated his 7th year birthday here & he caught 4 fish to start his day off. My 5 year old daughter just loves the water--she enjoys skiing--yes skiing, tubing, fishing & swimming. Mmy husband & I love it all. Lake Gaston is so memorable. Thanks for letting us use your house--it's been a wonderful week.

  July 3-10, 2010 Thank you for the rental of your lovely home. My husband and I, along with our four children, traveled from eastern Maryland and met his parents (from Uniontown, PA) here for the week. We enjoyed hours of fishing (last count at 40!!) and swimming off the dock. We held a “fishing” tournament and our 6 year old caught a 16.2 oz. carp! Wow! The [great blue] heron visited one morning. The girls started two lap quilts and many hours of enjoyment were had! We look forward to returning in the future.

  June 26-July 3, 2010 Our first trip to Lake Gaston! It's a good mid-way point--we came south from New Jersey. My in-laws came north from Wilmington, North Carolina. Lots of room. My husband and I loved starting our morning with coffee on the top deck and ending the evening stargazing from the same spot. We had great ping-pong matches and loved cooling off in the lake. We all agree Lake Gaston is a "do" again. The game closet has a great selection of jigsaw puzzles.

  June 3-12, 2010 Our first trip to Lake Gaston was a huge success. Thanks to your awesome home! We wanted to go somewhere quiet where we didn't have to leave everyday looking for entertainment...this was it! Fishing everyday, serious games of ping pong and horseshoes and a pontoon boat rental for a few days (my little ones fav[orite].) I enjoyed starting my days on the porch swing with my coffee. And my little ones (ages 2, 2 and 4) got their first baseball mits from their daddy--my twin boys were thrilled! The fishers of the group had a heron land right beside them to snack on a fish--awesome! (I am glad he didn't pop our raft.) Having the grocery store so close was great, because we always managed to forget something. My husband made the comment that if we returned he doesn't even feel the need to shop around for another place, because this one was just perfect! My only complaint is that I have to leave in 2 days. Thanks for a great home away from home.

  May 20-23, 2010 Our first time at Lake Gaston. Wonderful time, the weather was great. Kids swam off the dock every day. Fishing was good--lots of small fish and a couple of Big fish! House was great! Had a great time. Family Annual Spring Get Away!

  May 10-13, 2010 We had a wonderful time at your house. We were surprised to see the house so well stocked and complete. Father's favorite was the porch swing and the spa tub was helpful in soothing his back at the end of the day! My brothers enjoyed fishing off the dock (we caught quite a few catfish) and doing cannon balls off the dock into the "pre-season" lake. I enjoyed my time paddle boating and my family--and really just the opportunity to be together in such a beautiful and quiet location. We all enjoyed our stay and hope to visit the house again.

  Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. This was the best family vacation. We are planning to book this for our family every year. No one wanted to leave. My grandchildren and my children were very sad when it was time to leave. You didn't miss anything. The house was equipped with everything we needed. Would have been nice to have a hammock. We can't thank you enough as this was just what our family needed with our busy schedules.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  May 11, 2009 Thanks for the great house for our special weekend. Everything was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay. We managed to play with all the big games but the good weather limited getting deep into the [game] closet. This is really a great set up and we appreciated many of the small details. We will highly recommend this house to everyone.

  June 20-27, 2009 What a wonderful place! Our families enjoyed the spacious accomodations and the relaxing atmosphere. Your house made an excellent place to recuperate from wakeboarding and wakesurfing in the wonderful weather. We had a terrific time and eagerly await our next visit!
