Accommodations:  Bungalow, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 5)

Walking distance to everything in South Congress (SoCo)/Travis Heights, this stylish, modernized 1926 bungalow makes its home in one of Austin's oldest, most coveted neighborhoods. Live music, food, culture, history, recreation - the Red House, nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street, is in the center of it all.

The light filled, airy bungalow is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring vibrant Austin. Enjoy an iced tea or margarita in the back yard — under a majestic 350 year old oak tree — then fall asleep on the incredibly comfortable Serta Euro Top beds.

A stroll 3 blocks west takes you to lively South Congress Avenue (aka SoCo) — filled with fantastic restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and music venues. A stroll 3 blocks east takes you to Big Stacy Park equipped with 3 acres of walking trails and a heated, spring-fed swimming pool. You'll also find a playground and wading pool at little Stacy Park. Enough fun to entertain even the the tiniest travelers for hours.

The entertaining Second, Warehouse, and Sixth street districts downtown are a 3 minute bus/cab ride or a 10 minute walk. Also close by are Barton Springs, Zilker Park, the hike and bike trail along Lady Bird Lake (Town Lake), Auditorium Shores, the Convention Center, The Children's Museum, the bats at the South Congress bridge, Whole Foods Market, the Long Performing Arts Center, the Capitol and much more.

After your fun-filled days of shopping, music, food, and recreation, relax in comfort and quiet. Take a seat outside and watch your neighbors stroll by with dogs, kids, or even a pot-bellied pig. They'll probably smile and say "hello". Welcome to Austin, it's that kind of town.

We live in this neighborhood, we love this neighborhood. Once you've enjoyed a relaxing stay at the little Red House, we know you will too!

Austin Bergstrom Intl. airport is only 15 minutes away ($20 cab ride).

    • Dani, My wife and I really enjoyed our stay a the Red House last week! We were in Austin celebrating her birthday and we could not have picked a better place to stay. The neighborhood is quiet and yet just a five minute walk to South Congress and all of the shops, restaurants and interesting people! We even picked up a few groceries at the farmer's market. Thank you so much for your hospitality and we will definitely be back. Tom

    • How lucky were we to stay at this amazing property! I had a feeling from the pictures and description of the Red House that we were in for a special treat but I had no idea just how wonderful our stay would be. This oh so stylish home had every amenity one could imagine. Best of all, the owners were the most lovely couple and thoughtful enough to put an extensive city guide together for their guests complete with recommendations for every interest, age category and taste bud! We simply had a ball and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you, thank you!!!
