Imagine a spot where you can relax in the hottub overlooking a creek and pond. Where fish jump in the pond and the wind rustles through the aspen tree leaves. Horses gently whinny & nicker in a nearby pasture. Set on a secluded ten acre lot, nestled against the foothills of the Grand Teton Mountains, Rapid Creek Lodge is in a class of its own. Rapid Creek Lodge was designed by three creative partners looking to capture that wonderful historic log lodge feeling in a home full of modern conveniences equipped with everything a guest could desire.
Rapid Creek Lodge was built in 2006 as a custom built log home. It encompasses 5000 square feet. A great room full of windows facing the forest, overlooking the creek, is the centerpiece of the home. A native stone fireplace provides ambiance and warmth. The master bedroom wing is off to one side of the house, while a central gourmet equipped kitchen provides for everyone's tastes. The dining room captures the best of both worlds, with full windows to the outdoors and a fireplace as well. Then on the other side is the guest suite (queen sized bed) and garage.
Upstairs, a full game room with pool table, big screen television, and two double size futons provide space for overflow guests while another guest suite (king sized bed) is on the opposite side.
This magnificent custom built log home sits in the very heart of ski country, next to the nation’s best powder at Grand Targhee Resort, and 45 minutes from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village, 36 miles to downtown Jackson.
Summer here is magical; a horse corral is right outside, a four stall barn with the caretaker's apartment is a short walk away through the aspens, and riding and hiking trails into the Jedediah Smith Wilderness (which adjoins Grand Teton Natl. Park) start from the back door.
You are welcome to bring your horses and ride from the property! Other activities (from the Lodge itself) are: wildlife viewing, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and backcountry skiing.
Nearby activities: restaurants, shopping, rodeo, horseback riding, downhill skiing, snowcat skiing, heli skiing, groomed skate skiing, hiking, spelunking/ caving, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, scenic floats, wildlife tours, boating, Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks.
For everyone's enjoyment, no house pets and no smoking.
There is an onsite caretaker who resides over the barn.

Why the Owner Chose Jackson
We designed this home with cathedral ceilings and one huge wall of windows facing the mountains, trees, creek, and pond. Our onsite caretaker, Faith, is a certified horseback riding instructor and an accomplished landscaper as you'll see when you start to explore the wildflowers, wander through the Aspen grove, or follow the path of a deer through the forest.
A national forest trailhead begins just up the road from the house. You can hike, horseback ride, snowmobile, or cross country ski on the Targhee National Forest which borders Grand Teton National Pa
Grand Targhee Resort is just a quick 10 min. drive from Rapid Creek Lodge. It's known for its bottomless powder skiing as well as summer mtn biking & hiking right from the tops of the chairlift ride.
The Teton Canyon Trailhead provides trail access onto the Jedidiah Smith Wilderness of the Bridger Teton National Forest. From this point it's about a 6 mile hike into the renowned Alaska Basin area,

Steve, Ray, and Bryan purchased this gorgeous lot due to its trees, running creek, and quick mountain access. Bryan, a custom log builder in Jackson Hole, built our fantasy log mountain lodge. It was amazing watching it come to life. The house was completed in 2006 and it's a masterpiece. It's like the original Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone Natl. Park, it's one of those masterpieces that just makes you catch your breath and pinch yourself because you can't believe you're in such magnificent surroundings.
