Rapid Creek winds like a ribbon down past this beautiful custom home, a robust, luxurious Western log home on ten acres of pasture and aspen trees, with the Grand Teton Mountains towering behind. The center of this three bedroom log home is one great vaulted room, divided by a massive stone fireplace into living room and dining areas. and by a granite-topped breakfast bar from a gourmet kitchen which is professionally equipped and has an absolutely spectacular view. Soaring windows bring the outdoors in. The creek provides a cheerful melody all year round.
Off the living room is the spacious master suite, with a king sized bed and doors that open to a private deck and the bright mountain air of Wyoming. A dressing room and sumptuous bathroom, finished in tumbled limestone, with jetted tub and double shower are part of the master suite. On the opposite side of the first floor is a second bedroom (queen sized bed) with a private bathroom. Under the stars, on the deck, is a hot tub.
Upstairs, a bridge leads to a loft-like game room with a pool table, large flat screen TV, and two queen sized futons for additional guests. On the opposite side is the lovely third guest room (king sized bed) and private bath with double sinks.
This magnificent custom built log home sits in the very heart of ski country, next to the nation’s best powder at Grand Targhee Resort, and 45 minutes from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village, 36 miles to downtown Jackson.
Summer here is magical; a horse corral is right outside, a four stall barn with the caretaker's apartment is a short walk away through the aspens, and riding and hiking trails into the Jedediah Smith Wilderness (which adjoins Grand Teton Natl. Park) start from the back door.
You are welcome to bring your horses and ride from the property! Other activities (from the Lodge itself) are: wildlife viewing, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and backcountry skiing.
Nearby activities: restaurants, shopping, rodeo, horseback riding, downhill skiing, snowcat skiing, heli skiing, groomed skate skiing, hiking, spelunking/ caving, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, scenic floats, wildlife tours, boating, Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks.
For everyone's enjoyment, no house pets and no smoking.
There is an onsite caretaker who resides over the barn.

Year Purchased: 2005
Steve, Ray, and Bryan purchased this gorgeous lot due to its trees, running creek, and quick mountain access. Bryan, a custom log builder in Jackson Hole, built our fantasy log mountain lodge. It was amazing watching it come to life. The house was completed in 2006 and it's a masterpiece. It's like the original Old Faithful Lodge in Yellowstone Natl. Park, it's one of those masterpieces that just makes you catch your breath and pinch yourself because you can't believe you're in such magnificent surroundings.
Why the Owner Chose Jackson Hole
We designed this home with cathedral ceilings and one huge wall of windows facing the mountains, trees, creek, and pond. Our onsite caretaker, Faith, is a certified horseback riding instructor and an accomplished landscaper as you'll see when you start to explore the wildflowers, wander through the Aspen grove, or follow the path of a deer through the forest.
