Sandy Sea Inn
Do you have childhood memories of roasting marshmallows, poking red coals of a campfire, the popping noise as cinders & smoke headed up to the stars? Most vacation rentals don’t offer a campfire. Ours is enclosed private area we even provide the wood who else does that ?
Imagine a dog park of utopian size and a sleepy coastal village all to yourself. Your dog will love fetching sticks in the surf, sniffing sand shrimp holes, chasing flocks of sand pipers.. On weekdays you’ll probably be the only one on the beach and weekends you may expect as many as five. The large fenced yard allows a leashless experience can’t do that at a condo, motel or other vacation rentals. No need to load a wet dog in the car. It,s a real short walk to doggie Nirvana (the Ocean Beach) from this cabin

When they say the cabin is stocked, they are not kidding!! The only thing we had to go purchase other than food items was mosquito repellent. There are LOTS of huge mosquitoes! The cottage was private due to fence, but far from secluded. We sat outside lots and traffic noise was pretty constant. It didn't stop us from enjoying a fire every evening in the fire pit and roasting hot dogs or marshmallows. Most nights the rain would come and we would have to move inside. You could tell that pets were allowed to stay in the cabin previously. The second bedroom had a faint smell of where they had used the bathroom. Any questions or concerns were promptly answered or addressed by management who was very friendly & helpful. They allowed my adult daughter to stay for free due to her being in the military. Very grateful for that! Due to my husband's disability, we did not walk the 1/4 mile to the beach. Instead, we drove & parked on the road where the lighthouse is located. If you park on the street you don't have to pay, but if you pull into the parking lot the state requires a fee. We visited the beach daily and found it covered with polished stones, soft black sand and sand dollars. We had lots of fun!!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a great time here! Yes, it rained (it is the coast after all!) but the kids had a blast at the beach, which is a really short walk from the cabin. My daughter had the most fun finding sand dollars and dancing on the beach (she is 4!). My son, 6, loved wading in the water and trying his best to push the limits of my patience while walking further and further out (nervous mommy!). This cabin is close to everything in Westport - only a short drive to the grocery and another short drive to the piers and restaurants (fresh fish and chips were yummy!). We brought dvd's and games for the kids and the one afternoon that the rain poured, we played games until the rain stopped. Each night we roasted marshmallows over the fire pit and enjoyed the horseshoes in the front. Even the dog had a great time - I think she loved the fact that she was off leash most of the time in the fenced yard area (can't do that at a campsite!!). Overall, this was a great place to stay and very cute. It had everything we needed inside the cabin. Very relaxing - thanks for thinking of everything! We took our 4 grandkids here for the weekend and had a great time. (ages 1-6) The house has been updated with a cabin decor and landscaping is whimsical, but child friendly. We didn't have to worry so much that they might ruin something like we would at an upscale house and that let us enjoy ourselves even more. The beds were very comfortable and there was an assortment of pillows to choose from. If you get cold, there is a heavy duty comforter in the chest in what we considered the master bedroom that we found on the last day, but we didn't need it. . Loved having the fenced yard, outdoor shower and fire pit. We couldn't figure out how to work the indoor shower, I think it was missing a piece...but that was ok because the weather was HOT -(hit a record 96 on Saturday) and we took our showers outside. Everything else was exactly as advertised. The owners really have thought of everything for their renters...right down to leaving shampoo, sunscreen etc in the cabinet in case you need it. Thanks for a wonderful time...we will absolutely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners.

About: I am a Commercial Fisherman of Norwegian descent, raised in Seattle (Ballard), spent years fishing in Kodiak, Alaska and finally landed in Westport, Washington. Some years I winter here in Westport, and others I search out a warmer climate.
Why Westport:
20 years ago I brought a large King Crab Vessel to Westport for renovation and maintenance, fell in love with this small coastal town and life happened. I bought the Sandy Sea Inns and developed them to be the most top notch vacation rental cabins.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The Sandy Sea Inn Too is located 1/4 mile from the beach and is the perfect getaway cabin where I can just relax without a care in the world. Westport for me is a place I come to in the winter to rejuvenate my weary bones. A place where time goes slow, where wind blows, moss grows on local cars unnoticed and stress becomes unknown. I enjoy the local watering holes (Monday Tacos at The Local in Grayland, The Mermaid Deli in Westport, or the Pine Tree's Taco Thursdays There are great seafood markets or buy off the boats to throw on the BBQ that awaits you.
The Sandy Sea Inn is in a great location with excellent management.
