Had the pleasure of spending Christmas week here with family from far and wide. Our hostess was gracious enough to let us use her "Christmas " dishes to entertain above family for dinner. Really enjoyed walks on the beach (had a visit from a dolphin) and even tho it was too cool for the pool, we did enjoy relaxing in the hot tub. Bring your own beach towels, we forgot and had to purchase some !! Lots to see and do in the area. ENJOY!!

This was our first trip to HIlton Head Island and did not know the areas or proximity to beach or shopping, but this was perfect. A very short walk to the large expanse of beach, walk or ride bikes to grocery store/shopping/ miniature golf. All areas are dog friendly and the house was a good size for the amount of people we had. The living room is very comfortable, the pull out bed was not comfortable, so a group of eight is more appropriate. The kitchen was well supplied and the extra refrigerator came in handy. The hot tub was in nightly use, as well as the outdoor fire pit for making smores. The owners are very easy to work with and very responsive as we left a couple of our belongings behind and they allowed us early access on our day of arrival. The fenced-in yard was a plus, because we did not find this on other listings. Overall, we would love to make another trip here in the future.

Paradise!

An amazing home, backyard, and location. This house is perfection and the owners are wonderful. We vacationed in Hilton Head in May 2011 with our children (5 years and 3 years). We basically lived in the beautiful backyard for a week. The kids were in the pool from breakfast until it got dark. The privacy back there is amazing. A quick walk or bike ride and you are at the beach, shops and restaurants. This area is great for families. Make sure you check out the Frosty Frog in Coligny Plaza, they have great drinks and you can get them to-go. Hours spent in the cute paint-your-own-pottery place next door to the Frosty Frog fly by with a nice refreshing drink in your hand while your kids paint adorable keepsakes. I would highly recommend the Coligny/North Forest beach area. I would also VERY HIGHLY recommend this home. We can't wait to go back!!!

Second Time Vacationing on HHI

The photos and description were spot on. The house and property were very clean and clearly well-maintained. The owners were responsive and even gave us a call the day we arrived to see if everything was alright. This was our second time on HHI. On our first visit we rented a house a few blocks away from this one on the other side of N Forest Beach Rd and closer to the beach. But quite frankly 3 Mallard is an easy walk to the beach. There's a beach wagon for hauling chairs, umbrellas, etc., to the beach. This is one of the few houses we've seen with an actual yard (and fenced so we didn't have to worry about our dog Pippin wandering off as we lay by the pool). As we rode around on our bikes and walked around the area we realized 3 Mallard is one of the few houses with a nice private back yard (most of the other houses are right on top of each other) and it is also very quiet because it is on a dead end street away from N Forest Beach Rd, yet as mentioned is an easy walk to the beach. Oh, and unlike a lot of the homes, it's not up on stilts so there are no stairs to navigate. This is a great place to stay if you like hanging out around the pool reading. Our deposit was returned within a week of our returning home. Would recommend this property without reservation.

Beautiful Vacation Home

This was our 5th year vacationing in HHI. We cant get enough of this little piece of paradise. Laura and Jeds home is a gem and a little oasis. It has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. It is in an ideal location, the beach was less than 5 minutes from the front door and if you get really lazy you can just stay and enjoy the beautiful pool, hot tub and garden. Our teenagers loved all the choices available to them and the proximity to Coligny is an added bonus. The owners are very easy to work with and respond to all enquires quickly. We hope to be back again.

Great home in North Forest Beach!

This was our first time to Hilton Head so we were unsure where to stay. We have 2 small children and were excited when we found out this home had amenities for little ones included! The backyard is absolutely gorgeous, with a big roomy pool, hot tub and fenced in yard. This was nice to keep our kids close by! The gas grill was loved by my husband and got some good use during our stay. It is so quiet and peaceful in this neighborhood and a quick walk to the beach. I would totally recommend also renting bikes to see the area! You cant go wrong!

First trip to HHI

Our family just came back from our first of many trips to HHI! We loved the Island as well as the beautiful home that we rented for our week in HHI. The backyard was beautiful! All of our family spent many hours in the backyard in the pool specifically. Our grandchildren loved this vacation! Thank you to Laura and Jed for sharing your home with us. We look forward to a return visit!

FUN FAMILY VACATION

Absolutely wonderful rental. House was clean and perfect for ourgroup. Favorite part was by far the backyard and pool. Spend hours each day enjoying both, relaxing and playing games in the pool. Rooftop deck was nice, especially at night to look at the stars. Easy walk to beach, bike trails just up the street. Circular drive was another plus, easy to get the cars in and out. Owners were very nice and easy to work with. Our 2 dogs loved being able to be in the backyard with us while we enjoyed the pool. Didn't want to leave!!!

Perfect home for my family (kids/grandparents); house was as promised as far as location, size, decor, etc. Best part was big, private backyard where we grilled and relaxed around the pool or hot tub. Owner checked in on us on Sunday to make sure we had found everything we needed (easily done) and told us to call local manager if anything was needed during the week. Loved renting bikes from owner's link and checking out the Island. Decided this was the best part of the Island to be with Coligny Plaza up the road and wide-open beaches a short walk from the house. We will be planning a trip back here next year for sure!

Perfect beach house, great back yard, wonderful location

Very clean, comfortable home, with a great backyard and pool area. Lots of room for a large group to spread out and not be on top of one another. Beach is close and everything you need for the beach is provided (as well as a cart to get it there). Close to Coligny Circle (can walk or bike there) and lots of other shopping. Have rented several different places in Hilton Head and this was the best hands down. Was a little leery about renting from a private owner (have gotten burned in the past). The owners were wonderful to deal with, and we look forward to staying at 3 Mallard in the future. Oh, and our dogs just loved the yard and going to the beach every day, it was a real treat for them.
