Set in an idyllic position within the medieval town of Semur en Auxois, this former water mill has been beautifully and thoughtfully renovated to a superb luxurious standard. Located on the banks of the River Armancon, beneath the town ramparts, a short walk up the hill to the centre ville, the position of this welcoming property could not be better.
Early morning walks through this medieval town to collect your fresh bread and croissants returning to enjoy a sunny breakfast on the terrace with our neighbors…ducks and the resident heron! This really is the place where you can relax in a tranquil setting or enjoy the hive of activity in the town with its’, weekly market, the many cafes and restaurants. Or explore the rolling hills of Burgundy scattered with small villages and castles. To the south, on the “Gold Coast” you will also find some of the best wines of the world to taste, enjoy and take home with you.
The property is awash with fabulous antique art deco pieces and furnishings, every detail has been executed with genuine style. Comfortably accommodating up to 5 people with two large double rooms and one single room with 2 bathrooms over two floors. The heart of the property is the living room, with floor to ceiling picture windows over looking the river and beyond, complete with state of the art technology – TV and music systems with hi speed internet.
Leading off from the living area to the dining room, perfect for those evenings with family or friends enjoying the gastronomic delights our region has to offer.
Mary and Jean Jacques would be delighted to welcome you and to share the delights of their property and surrounding area.
nb : as the house is on the river it is not suitable for young children / non swimming individuals.

We LOVED our stay at the Moulin Vert! It was gorgeous sitting outside on the patio and listening to the water falls. We had visited Semur before and had fallen in love with it. Having a longer stay there was perfect and the cozy house added greatly to our enjoyment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The pictures on the website do not do justice to either the house or the location. The compact house is a perfect blend of the old (for its beauty) and the new (for your comfort and convenience). The location is in the most beautiful area of Semur-en-Auxois. You won't be disappointed when you arrive. We thought that the place was perfect for a couple, not suitable at all for young children, and okay, but a little crowded, for larger groups of adults. It's still a bargain even if there's only two of you. We had only two very minor negative things to say about our visit: (1) the advertised WiFi did not work on our iPhones (we didn't bring a laptop---had no intention of working during our stay); and (2) not much to see on the cable TV if you don't speak French. Don't let the negatives scare you away. This vacation home is highly recommended.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
