Located just 15 short minutes south of historic downtown St. Augustine, the Crescent Sandpiper enjoys both sunrises over the ocean and sunsets over the Inter-Coastal Waterway. We're in a quieter area, away from the boulevards, traffic and strip malls (but close enough to get there for rainy day activities, shopping and many restaurant choices).
The Sandpiper's looks are deceiving from the road...yes we have tennis courts, plenty of parking and the grounds are clean and well-maintained, however, once you get into our unit you will understand why we love spending time here. Our place is located dead-center (it's been called the "Crown Jewel" of the Crescent Sandpiper) with views of the beautiful grounds, the sparkling pool and the ocean!
The kitchen is bright and clean and features a counter with bar stools that friends can sit at while you cook. Also, the kitchen is situated so that the host gets the outside view right past where you're sitting (whether at the kitchen counter, living room couch or patio)! The living room/dining room combo is clean and updated as is the guest room and bath. The master bath was just renovated and compliments the master bedroom quite well (even if we do say so ourselves!)
I believe we've thought of everything you may need while here. We supply linens, towels, utensils, plenty of pots and pans, all manner of glassware and the appliances have been updated. There is a coin-operated laundry facility conveniently located to our unit. We hope you find this place is relaxed, clean, bright and airy, as that is our goal.
Our beach access is easy, the sand is powdery white (and gets very hot) and you can walk north or south for miles. We like to walk north to the Southbeach Grill for lunch and a few cocktails and (BTW the kids can play in the sand right in front of the outside eatting area) amble back a few hours later. If you've got kids they'll love the surf as it is terrific for surfing or skimming and though we haven't tried it just yet, the fishing is awesome! Our favorite place to go to hear music is The Creekside for it's great ambiance, outdoor tables and stage where you can hear anything from an Irish fiddler to a Jimmy Buffet wanna-be, and the food is awesome. The Oasis is great to watch any sport on TV and they feature great bands on the weekends. Be sure to check out AIA Beach Road (about 5 miles north of us, take a right @ the St. Augustine Sign/HUGE sports store/Alvin Island)...great bistros, bars and shopping - quite close by if you're out and about!
Other stuff: We are just 45 minutes north of Daytona, 2 hours northeast of Orlando (Disney-craziness), there are plenty of golf courses, boat rental places and generally anything else you'd want to do in a beach-town!
A quick note...it may be obvious these days, but we do not allow smoking in our unit (the entire complex is non-smoking) and we can't allow pets. And, we're also always in the process of upgrading -- we don't have tons of extra money, but we always try to be sure the place is comfortable and as clean as we can possible make it -- all along we're upgrading as we can. So, if you have suggestions, please be sure to let us know :).

Year Purchased: 2000
Karen & Peter (@ our family's place in NY's Adirondacks). We're a relatively new couple based in Central NY (after a chance meeting) where we were both born & raised (he in Manlius and I in Cazenovia) - we now reside in Caz (SkiCaz.com) in a our new/really old home perched on a ravine overlooking Chittenango Creek. He's a Giants fan, I love the Patriots (lived in Boston for 30 impressionable years). We both love the outdoors, especially in Winter(skiing, hot-tubbing, snowshoeing etc). That's why we love St. Augustine -- WARMTH! We work hard to make sure that the St. Aug condo is as clean and comfortable as possible. Each visit, we do "upgrades" as we can. As much as we "pine away" over the glossy magazines, we can't swing everything at once. So, if you do choose to stay with us, be sure to leave us a note about the state of our place and what...if you could...you'd do to upgrade! All suggestions will be taken very seriously.
