This 4 season Lake Home on the shores of beautiful Delavan Lake offers a peaceful & quiet getaway any time of year. Nestled off of North Shore Dr. in an area of 100 Year Old Oaks, this completely remodeled Victorian Single Family Home is one of the earliest homes on Delavan Lake.
The home features a huge wrap around porch completely surrounded by floor to ceiling glass sliding patio doors that offers both open air breezes from the lake front & enclosed comfort for the evenings & cooler days. The Home is tastefully decorated with antiques & features all wood pine floors. Enjoy 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, & a closeable Den for sleeping up to 6. Enjoy Central A/C and heat year round.
You will enter the home through double doors and inside you will find an open ceiling format with natural pine wood floors. In the 'Parlor' there is a vintage masonry fireplace with a recently installed electronic gas log starter. It is exceptionally easy to start and great to enjoy, even from the front porch. The front Living Room is open to the Dining area which is open to the newly remodeled Kitchen. All appliances in the kitchen are stainless steel and brand new. Enjoy cooking on the marble counter tops while enjoying a view of the lake. You can also cook on the provided gas grill in the back yard. The dining room features a new solid wood table that seats up to 6 people. Connecting through both the Living Room and the Kitchen stairwell is a Den that also features a full bathroom with Shower. You can enjoy a movie on the Flat Screen TV and then have sleeping quarters for an additional guest as the room has two closing doors.
You will be comfortable year round with gas heat/central air conditioning and water softener. You also will enjoy the unique quiet surroundings of the neighborhood as there are no cars on the adjacent properties to awaken you. A full size futon/couch provides comfortable seating in the open air of the enclosed porch. On the other side is a dining set to enjoy meals while also enjoying views of the boats on the lake or to keep a watchful eye on the children playing in the front lawn. Assigned parking (maximum 3 cars) is available a short distance across the street in a designated parking lot.
You can arrange through the neighborhood marina (Delavan Lake Marina, telephone 262-728-5540), which is just a one minute walk from our home, for 'in and out' privileges (they launch your boat or wave runner and then trailer it at the end of your day) at a very reasonable additional cost and they also rent pontoon boats. A Boat Launch is also available at nearby Lake Lawn Resort or the Delavan Lake Public Boat launch. Boating or Personal Watercraft drop offs can be made there. Please note that while we are lakefront and have a gorgeous view, we do not have a public pier or public access to the water. There are two great public beaches in Williams Bay or Fontana which are a 13-15 minute drive. Also, boat docking and drop offs are not allowed on any adjacent private docks or piers by law.
Subtle porch lighting provides a relaxing mood when the sun goes down and the time is right to enjoy conversation and drinks with the neighbors in the area who often enjoy the lake front around a blazing fire pit. You can also enjoy your very own fire with the provided front yard fire pit, where you can hear the water rushing onto the shore.
This property is located in a close community of other lake homes. We appreciate discretion with regard to loud noise. Please do not consider renting our home if you are planning a party. Smaller, more moderate family gatherings are the perfect match for our home and the neighborhood.
We are sorry but no pets or smoking are allowed on this property.

My girlfriends and I recently stayed here for a long weekend away. The home is pristine - spotless, lovingly furnished, full of charm, and beautifully maintained. Our favorite features of the home were the gas fireplace and the large wraparound screened in porch. Between the two, we spent every night catching up and admiring the beautiful lake views. The owner, Joe, is very easy and pleasant to work with. He followed up with us after we arrived just to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. There is a Walmart, Piggly Wiggly, Starbucks and Panera Bread close by, and Lake Geneva is a short car ride away. We discovered many new, fun places, including: - Staller Estate Winery for wine tasting - Sorg's Quality Meats & Sausage for summer sausage and jerky - Waterfront Pub & Eatery for Friday night fish fry - Lake Geneva Pie Company for out of this world pie - Simple for a delicious Sunday brunch - Kilwin's for the the best homemade ice cream and fudge - Cornerstone Shop & Gallery for a multitude of classy, unique home decor Although the floorboards are loud/not insulated, it didn't bother us too much, as we were all more or less on the same schedule. All in all, it was a wonderful trip - the perfect mix of relaxation, sight seeing, and catching up with old friends. Having this lovely home to return to each night was definitely a highlight.Owner response: Melissa, I really am happy that you and your girlfriends had such a good time staying at our home. I, too, have spent many a night enjoying the lake view from the wraparound porch and the glow of the gas fireplace. You and your friends really got out and tried many of the local restaurants, home decor and ice cream shops - your list of recommendations is the most comprehensive of any of our guests! I hope you can come back and stay at our home again.

My friends and I needed a quiet and comfortable place to relax during our annual retreat. This house was a delightful treat. We particularly enjoyed the large porch and fireplace. It was a great place to get away from the city and recharge. Joe, the owner, was very responsive to our requests and made sure to check in to make sure we had everything we needed. The house has a great view of the lake and was quite beautiful with freshly fallen snow.Owner response: Kendra, thank you for taking the time to write this review and I am happy that you and your friends enjoyed your retreat at our home. I appreciate you mentioning that I was responsive to your requests and that I checked in with you to ensure everything met your needs. I try to treat our guests in the same way that I would want to be treated and that means ensuring our home is spotlessly clean, meets your expectations and that you have a memorable vacation. You are right that our view is beautiful in the winter - in fact, I love the view in all four seasons! I hope you and your friends can visit us again.

My girlfriends and I wanted to go some place within a two hour drive from the north suburbs of Chicago that would be accommodating and fun. We found it here! Everything about the cottage was perfect--the beds were amazingly comfortable, the decor lovely, the lake view stunning. We cooked dinners in and ate breakfast and lunch in nearby Lake Geneva. The girls and I have decided we definitely want to return!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Pam, it is surprising, in the cold Wisconsin winter, that our home can be so warm and inviting. I love the snow covered lake view, especially as the sun starts to set on the tree covered hills. Since we insulated the floor and ceiling of the porch, it gets surprisingly warm on the sunny winter days. When it gets a little too chilly, I head to the parlor and turn on the gas fireplace for instant warmth. I think that the winter view and ambience is every bit as relaxing as the summertime. I'm glad you and your friends had such a good time and thank you for taking such good care of our home. I hope you can come again with your girlfriends!

Joe's gorgeous home was the perfect place for our group of five to ring in 2013 in a peaceful and relaxed setting. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, board games at the dining room table, and reading in front of the fire. The neighborhood was very quiet during our snowy weekend which made the lake view from the porch even better. Our only complaint about the home is that the beautiful hardwood floors/ceiling don't provide much sound proofing for light sleepers. Joe was a breeze to work with and very attentive before, during, and after our stay. We'll definitely consider a return trip! only complainsOwner response: George, thank you for your 5 star review about your stay at our home. I agree that whatever the season is, when you are at our lake home it is completely relaxing and peaceful. The sweeping lake view from the porch (and just about every window in the house) is so panoramic that sometimes it doesn't even seem real (especially when I see the sun turn the lake orange as it rises). I agree that as with most lake homes, the hardwood floors can transmit more sound but I quickly realized that the charm of those floors does compensate for that. I appreciate you mentioned that I was very attentive and easy to work with as I try hard to treat my guests just as I would like to be treated. I hope you and your friends can stay at our home again soon!

The pictures did not do this property justice! What an amazing rental -- charming yet contemporary. The three of us have traveled across the country and have high standards and we were not disappointed! We enjoyed our girls weekend in this comfortable and very functional home. The owners have paid attention to every detail to make this home inviting and warm. We truly did not want to leave and have already talked about returning next year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Debbie, when you wrote that you and your friends had traveled frequently and had high standards and that our home met your every expectation, you made my day! My wife and I work hard to ensure our guests feel truly at home and to do that we focus on the many little touches that give our guests a feeling that they have just found the perfect getaway from all of their everyday stressors. We realize that our guests want that feeling of being in a special place so that as soon as you walk in, you get the same relaxed sensation as though you just had a great massage! Just watching the lake from the porch, or from either of the two front bedrooms, always puts me in that frame of mind. People frequently tell us that the conversations and sharing of good times at our home with family and friends has given them lifetime memories. I hope you and your friends can stay at our home again soon. I appreciate that you treated our home as though it were yours - it was spotlessly clean!

This is truly a genuine lakefront home. We loved it so much that we came back the very next week. The lake views on the entire first floor are simply phenomenal. And then to sit by the fireplace AND have the lake views was more than I imagined. I have looked all over Lake Geneva for a reasonably priced, TRUE lakefront vacation home and we found it here. The owners are immediately available and great to work with. They notified us when the unit was ready for use for each stay. They even gave us a discount for our 3rd night!! The home is very warm, with personal touches and was intended to make you feel at home...and we did. Although it rained our second stay, it did not matter...we still enjoyed the quietness of both the home and the colony of homes. All the beds are just right...not uncomfortably firm, but cozy for sure. Everything else you need is less than 5 minutes away near Route 50: dining, fast foods, grocery store, video rental, department stores and other shopping. I just really need to say that you don't have to go to Lake Geneva for a great vacation...Lake Delavan and this beautiful Victorian home provided everything we expected and more. This home is equipped to enjoy the lake. Thanks again Joe and Bea!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Gina, thank you for such a thoughtful and positive review. It is always satisfying when our guests have memorable visits at our home. We consistently try to be available to our guests for any questions as that is what I would want if my wife and I were renting someone's home. And, we do try to work with folks to make their stay affordable, which is possible for us during the week in the off season; we do give a discount for the third weekday night (other than during the summer). We hope you can come and stay at our home again and enjoy the fireplace and the views!

Our family stayed recently stayed here in October. What a wonderful house! Plenty of room for us and 2 kids. The house and layout was just as listed on HomeAway. The house was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, and even spices. We cooked most of our meals at home. The decor fit the house and it felt warm and cozy. We had lovely views of the lake from the dining area. Leaves were changing their colors. Great fall weather, could have been a little warmer :-) There were so many birds - woodpeckers, cardinals, geese, ducks-out and about in the trees surrounding the property. I managed to get some pictures of a pretty cardinal sitting in some bushes outside next to the house. Not too far from the house down the road while driving we saw a group of 10-15 wild turkeys crossing the road! That was an amazing sight! The bedrooms were very big considering the historic age of the house. The kids loved the bunk bed in one of the bedrooms. The weather turned cold up in Wisconsin recently, so it was nice to turn on the fireplace and sit and relax and read a book. It was nice to get away from the crazy life in Chicago. Delavan is a great little town. It's less crazy than Lake Geneva. There are plenty of stores near by: Piggly Wiggly, Walmart, Starbucks, Panera Bread, Kohl's, etc. If you are looking for restaurants, there are plenty in nearby Lake Geneva. The owner, Joe, was fantastic. He sent us an email with all the information we needed for our stay. We would definitely recommend this property.Owner response: Annette and Patrick, it makes me feel very good that you and your family had such a relaxing and peaceful time at our home. Patrick had mentioned that he traveled frequently and worked long hours and that our home helped him and the entire family to immediately relax and just enjoy being with each other. I also live in Chicago and I know that when I get to our lake home, I can just feel the tension of the city melt away. When I wake up in the morning to the many birds, it is just like you said, Annette - there are many different birds everywhere. I'm glad you found our kitchen fully stocked as we have tried hard to anticipate our guests' cooking needs. And, if people feel like eating out, as you said, there are plenty of great restaurants in Delavan and especially Lake Geneva which is just 15-20 minutes away. It was a pleasure to have you stay in our home and I hope that you can come visit again soon! Joe and Bea

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful lake home with us! The setting was perfect for our annual girl's weekend with college friends. The moment we pulled in and walked down the path to your home, we knew we were somewhere amazing!! It reminded me of Martha's Vineyard on a bigger scale. The home was charming and beautifully maintained. The decor was right out of a magazine! Our favorite room was the wrap around porch with the breathtaking views of the lake. We enjoyed walking around Lake Delevan as well as Lake Geneva. The owners were very kind and attentive. Joe called the day of our arrival to make sure everything was to our liking. He even gave me a heads up on a race that was going on that day to avoid the blocked roads. We have stayed at several rental properties before but this was by far the best! We would all love to come back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Lisa, your review really made us feel good both from the standpoint that you and your friends had such a good time as well as your comments about our home. We have worked hard since we bought our home a year ago to upgrade both the furnishings and the home itself. With the porch renovation, we installed a new pine floor that is stained a light teal color and the new glass in the sliding doors now allows for an unimpeded view of the lake. We really want our guests to have a wonderful and memorable stay and to make sure our home meets our guests' expectations, I call each guest during their stay to ask them whether we did meet their expectations. Thus far we have had very favorable feedback. Thank you and your friends for taking such good care of our home - please come back soon!

My husband and I treated our parents to a weekend away for their 30th & 35th wedding anniversaries along with a Jimmy Buffet concert at Alpine Valley. Joe was extremely easy to work with, very accommodating, and takes great care of the house. As we walked up to the house, we immediately felt relaxed! The house had everything that we needed and more! It has so much character, plenty of room, was very clean, and we couldn't have felt more "at home!" Our favorite part of the weekend was sitting in the screened in porch, doors open, feeling the breeze, catching up and watching the lake! We did not turn on the TV or use the internet all weekend, it was great! It is a weekend that we will never forget and I am positive that we will be back!Owner response: Mallory, I thought you and your husband came up with a really classy way to celebrate both of your parents' anniversary. I am glad it worked out so well and it made me feel good that our home could be part of your celebration. With all the "busy' in our lives, our home does have a way of making you feel relaxed as soon as you walk onto the porch (I have felt this many times!). Just relaxing on the porch and realizing you don't really have to do anything but just watch the lake and listen to the birds, is the best medicine for many of us. Thank you for taking the time to write this review and also for mentioning how clean our home was. I personally clean our home for each guest's visit and I make sure that it is at the high standards that I would expect if it were for me. I hope that you can come and stay again soon (and thank you for taking such good care of our home). Joe

About the owner: My wife and I love to camp in our RV and while we were camping at nearby Lake Geneva, we took a 13 mile bike ride around Lake Delavan. We found ourselves so enamored with Lake Delavan that we started looking at homes to purchase. And, as they say, the rest is history!
Why the Owner Chose Delavan Lake:
My wife and I fell in love with this charming Victorian lake home and purchased it as our 'get-away' home from Chicago. We love the stunning views, especially the sunrises over the lake. We also love the 'step-back-in-time' ambiance that you feel the moment you walk inside. No matter what the season, Lake Delavan is simply gorgeous. Plus, we can have those wonderful Wisconsin Friday Night fish fries!
