Sandy Cove can be your weekend oceanfront getaway!
Relax and enjoy the comfort and convenience of Long Beach! Take a walk on the boardwalk and take in the fresh sea breeze or watch the ocean waves from the warmth of this cozy home. Sandy Cove is a nicely furnished condominium facing the boardwalk and the ocean.
This home is an easy walk to beach activities or downtown. Great shopping and a variety of restaurants are all close by, plus lots of things for the kids to do. Besides the boardwalk there’ a paved trail through the dune that runs north/south – it’s great for walking or bicycling.
There’s miniature golf nearby, and the arcade and rides are just a couple blocks away. Sandy Cove is close to the Bolstad beach approach, which is a hub of activity year-round, but especially during the summer months, with the International Kite Festival in August and, of course fireworks on Independence Day and New Year’s Eve.
Sandy Cove is a particularly good place to be for the fireworks, SandSations Sandcastle Festival or our world-famous Kite Festival.
There’s even more to explore on the rest of the Long Beach Peninsula – all 26 plus miles of it. The Port of Ilwaco and Cape Disappointment are only a short drive away, as well as Waikiki Beach and the North Head lighthouse.
Hike the trails at Beard’s Hollow – it’s a wonderful walk through the trees and past peaceful wetlands to the beach. There are some great art galleries at the Port of Ilwaco, and during the summer months there’s Saturday Market too, with a variety of local arts and crafts, foods, flowers and plants.
You can even see pirates at times. Ilwaco also has its own fireworks in July. The Port also features some fine restaurants with local seafood offerings created by our great chefs. Or take a charter trip for salmon, halibut, tuna or sturgeon.
On the north end of the Peninsula is Ocean Park, with bookstores, restaurants and gift stores. Visit Jack’s Country Store to see this historic yet current meeting place. In Nahcotta you can buy fresh oysters and enjoy the wonderful views of Willapa Bay.
On the extreme north end of the Peninsula, the place to see is Ledbetter Point State Park -- it’s a wonderful place for hiking to the beach or to the bay. There’s lots of wildlife to see in our local parks too. Keep your eyes open for bald eagles – we see many of them here.
Sandy Cove is on the ground floor of the Windward Passage condominiums. This comfortable home features a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher. It’s fully-equipped with pots and pans, dishes, glasses and silverware.
There’s a breakfast bar and a separate dining area. The living room has a gas fireplace, satellite TV and DVD. The whole front room, including kitchen, dining and living room, shares the view of the ocean. You can also see the ocean from the master bedroom, which has a queen size bed and its own private full bath.
The second bedroom is cozy with another queen bed and bath with shower. Sandy Cove sleeps up to 4 people total.

Comfortable with one BIG exception
Guest: Family of 4

The complex was perfectly situated within walking distance to downtown, the boardwalk and the beach. It was also very well kept and enough off the beaten path so that you can enjoy some quality quiet time. The unit has all of the amenities you would expect as well being comfortable for our family of four with one big exception…the beds. The bed in the master bedroom was beyond firm, there was little padding which allowed you to feel every single spring all night long. The other bedroom had a little more give to it, but still not to a standard I would expect in this complex/price range. I realize that everyone’s taste in mattresses varies, but if I am generating an income off of my property, I would be expected to provide a level of comfort that would satisfy the majority of my clientele. I would find it hard to believe that we are the first that walked away from this unit wishing the beds were of a higher caliber. Let’s face it, when we go on vacation and either stay in a hotel or rent a condo, we are in essence renting a bed with shelter. The bed is a key feature that can “make or break” your experience with an establishment. This came close to breaking our experience.
Owner response:"We always appreciate customer feedback! We will add foam mattress toppers for our guests, but the firm mattress is my personal preference."
