This is a great spot for a family reunion. The place has everything, all we needed to bring was food. Gus is a wonderful host. Fair Haven is a slice of heaven. I would recommend this to families with children, as it is close to the state park-you can walk to the beach.

We just spent time in this cottage and while it was our first time, it definitely won't be our last! We've already booked a week for next year! The owner is a wonderful gentleman who was extremely accommodating. We knew from our first interaction with him this was going to be a wonderful place - and it exceeded our expectations! This home is meticulously maintained and provided everything you could imagine. All we had to bring was our food. The images don't begin to fully reflect how spacious this home is - with its enormous wrap around porch, living room, kitchen, etc. The location is perfect. We had several young children with us and the walk to the playground and beach took only minutes down a quiet, dead-end street. We had the best of both worlds - beach and water when we wanted it and a large, open grassy yard for the evening. The porch is beyond belief with several gathering areas to eat, chat or just hang out. The living room and its fireplace fill the home with charm. The kitchen is large and provides all the amenities you need. This cottage has plenty of sleeping space, two large bathrooms and laundry! This home is very clean, safe, extremely spacious and a perfect spot for a quiet getaway or a large family gathering. We could go on and on....We can't say enough about it! Absolutely perfect!

My husband and I got married at Fair Haven State Park, which is just a stroll away from this beautiful cottage. We needed a place to stay for just the weekend, something where we could have all our family stay together and not one here and one there all over town. It was wonderful. We truly felt at home, all of us, and everyone just ooohed and awed over the wrap around porch! I always dreamed of coming down the stairs at home in my wedding gown, and I truly felt that I did. We have an soft spot in our hearts for this cottage and Gus the owner, what a lovely gentleman! He was very nice and attentive. That home is a treasure.

We stayed here for a week in August 2010. There were 9 of us from Northern NY and Virginia. The location was great- walking distance to the state park beach. We spent much of the week fishing and at the beach and playground with the kids. The amount of space in this house is deceiving and the decor is so charming, you feel like you're home, but better! BY FAR, the best feature of the house is the wrap-around porch! It is a massive space that encircles 3 sides of the house- we counted 50 windows! In fact, my husband, daughter, and I chose to sleep there- very comfy! There were several seating areas, so no one ever felt cramped for space. The bedrooms were also comfortable with plenty of storage. It was helpful to have a bathroom on each floor and the washer and dryer got much use. The kitchen had all of the modern conveniences, and the dining room easily sits 12 people. The garage had a second fridge and full-size freezer. This property was an excellent value for the price! All we had to bring was our food and clothing. The house was clean and the grounds were spacious and well maintained. There is a fire ring in the back yard which was perfect for evening campfires, and there was a grill on the patio- charcoal included! It was fu to sit on the porchin the evenings and watch the deer in the yard. The owner is wonderful! He was so helpful everytime I had a question and was available anytime we needed him. He met with us the year before we rented to show us the property. The pictures are good, but can't do the home justice. If possible, see it for yourself; you won't be disappointed. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone and hope to stay there again someday!

We just got back from a fantastic holiday with family. My family rented the cottage while coming to Central New York to attend my graduation from Syracuse University. The cottage was so beautiful did not mind the drive into the city at all. It's just a short walk away from one of New Yorks best State Parks (Fair Haven). Furthermore, the house has everything you will ever need and more. There is enough space for everyone to relax and not feel confined. Best of all we had a great time cooking in the big kitchen. Later we sang and roasted marshmallows around the campfire. For those who live a hectic life...this cottage is the perfect place to getting to know each other again and remind you what life is really all about!
