We walked everywhere. Great shops, restaurants, parks and museums were all nearby. And when it rained we hopped on a tram right around the corner. The bed was divinely comfortable, the bedroom peaceful. We enjoyed breakfast at the sunny kitchen table, looking out at the trees. The living room was perfect for people watching; the apt. is on a street filled with busy Amsterdam life, but double pained windows kept out the noise. Also, a well lit arm chair provided a cozy spot to curl up with a book. Two suggestions: a shelf or caddy for soap and shampoo in the shower, and a few more prints on the walls. The fresh flowers were a thoughtful and much appreciated welcome.

We had a short stay in the apartment and it provided everything we needed. tThe description is accurate. The location was convenient and we could walk everywhere. There is a good supermarket round the corner. The kitchen was well equipped and clean and the vase of flowers was a lovely touch. The bedroom is small but quiet with blackout curtains so we slept really well. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a very pleasant staying in this apartment! The apartment has everything you may need (compact bathroom with shower, sink and wc, a fully equipped kitchen, a quite bedroom, and a very spacious main room where to dine and watch tv). Particularly noteworthy is the location of the apartment, which sits just at the edge of the Jordaan, in a very central location with access to several public transports to the city center and Museumplein, and very close to shops and cafes. Marijn, the owner, was very accomodating of our needs and always responsive if we had any questions. We would certainly come back again to this apartment. Thank you Marijn for this lovely staying at your place!

This couldn't be nicer, well away from the red light district and Dam Square, to get there a walk through lovely canals, on a lovely street opposite a tram stop (great for people watching!). Just 10 minutes from Van Gogh museum and vondelpark (turn right out of the apartment), or just 15 minutes to proper old canal Amsterdam (turn left out of door). Good supermarket 2 minutes walk, lots of nice bars close by. Apartment is big for 2 people, good kitchen, nice and clean. The owner is very easy going and doesn't hassle you at all. He met us at the apartment even though we came earlier than expected, no moans from him! Overall, a fabulous apartment in a great city.

The one good thing about this property is the location. However be prepared for terrible stairs to get up to it. However this is true through most of Amsterdam. Our main complaints have to do with the furnishings and lighting. There were dishes in the cupboard that all had to be washed before we could use them. The night stands and end tables are all orange crates. That means if you want to put anything on them, it falls through. The only lighting is overhead and the kitchen one did not work. There was one sofa and a TV in the livingroom. The sofa was not that comfortable and there were no lamps, so forget trying to read. In our case the weather was so terrible that it would have been nice to have a lamp there or at least in the bedroom to read by. The place was quiet and was a good location. Also right next door is a small market. Buy your eggs there, they are all double yolks. Of all the VRBO places we have stayed this was by far the worst. I think if the owners were to spend a little more enrgy being sure it was clean, including the dishes, and add just a couple of lamps and real tables, people would be more likely to come back. We dfinitely would not stay there again.
Owner response:"Thank you for your feedback, it's always very useful to have comments - actually, it's particularly useful to hear if something is wrong or you need something, because then we can change things if they aren't right. And please, if you have a serious complaint, call us straightaway - it is always better for you if we can fix a problem while you are in the apartment so you can enjoy the improvement. (We recently provided new tools for the kitchen for someone who stayed and wanted to cook a special meal). In response to your specific comments, we have bought new lighting so there are now 3 additional lamps in the apartment.

Great location with several tram stops right outside. Good shopping and great market nearby. Small bedroom and bathroom but the living area is roomy. Would return.

We enjoyed staying in this apt. for 5 nights in June 2009. Great location in Old West near Jordaan -- a fun, convenient location for enjoying lovely Amsterdam on foot. Wonderful street & neighborhood (shops, eateries, markets everywhere), walking distance to major sights and museums, and tram stops for all directions just outside the apt. The apt. was comfortable -- spacious main room and very quiet bedroom. The bathroom is very compact (shower, sink and toilet all in 1 small room), but everything was clean, new and worked well. Everything in the apt. was as described and pictured. The owner, Marijn, was responsive and answered all questions. Thank you, Marijn - your apt. was a wonderful base from which to discover Amsterdam.
