San Miguel is an enchanting 500 year old city, centrally located in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. The altitude is approximately 6,500 ft above sea level. San Miguel, known as an artist village, was founded in 1542 by a famous Franciscan monk.
San Miguel is famous for its year round mild climate, its architecture and its 400 year old cobble stone streets. As one of Mexico's historic monuments, San Miguel is truly a place of wonder. La Parroquia stands high with its spires touching the sky and invites one to experience awe.
La Casa de Gracia is located on a quiet side street, just a short walk to the jardin. It is conveniently located to the Instituto de Allende, Warren Hardy and Josefina's bilingual program. It is pretty much a flat walk to most places from the house.
When you arrive, you will go thru beautiful hand carved doors made by a family of wood carvers for 75 years. You will be greeted by a warm smile, and given keys to the house. Warm and cozy, Casa de Gracia makes you feel welcome. The home is decorated with a Texas hill country flair and has antique pieces of furniture purchased both in Round Top and in San Miguel.
Casa de Gracia is L shaped and faces a beautiful garden courtyard. There is a Master downstairs as well as upstairs. In the garden, there is a small fountain that soothes the soul. There is a twin bed nook between the master down and the master bath down. Also, there is a daybed in the Master upstairs.
All bedding is from Cowgirls and Lace in Dripping Springs, Texas. Also, all the sheets are high cotton count and comforters are down.
