Stinson Beach cottage description
Our cozy cottage has an unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. There is a large deck with table and chairs for reading and sunbathing while watching the world go by. We recently renovated and updated with a new tile floor and new shower enclosure. Our furnishings are upscale and kid friendly. We find that even very small children are able to play right on the beach protected from the wind in our private roped-off beach lot area.
The house is very well equipped with a BBQ on the deck and all the things that you need to cook up a relaxing meal in the compact kitchen. Additionally, we have a Gourmet Grill and Panini Sandwich maker. Parents can sit on the deck and watch their children play on the beach.
Walking to town is one of the pleasures of our location. Stinson Beach can be sunny while the rest of the Coast is 'fogged in' as we have a wonderful micro-climate. The Pacific is really cold for swimming and the surfers - who you can watch from the house- almost always wear wetsuits. Boogie boarding is a favorite sport and many intrepid surfers have gotten their start Boogie Boarding at Stinson Beach. Boogie Boards and wetsuits are available for rent in town also kayaks for kayaking on Bolinas lagoon.
The town is charming with cute restaurants and a children's playground with slides and swings. When you're ready for a hike there are fabulous hiking trails within 5 minutes of the house. One of the most famous is the Dipsea Trail which is a wondrous walk beside a running creek, beneath giant redwoods culminating in a 10 foot ladder climb - really breathtaking. Great beach-combing and shell collecting possibilities abound on the beach.

My mother, sister, and I spent the weekend in this adorable cottage, which is directly ON the beach. The photo from the deck is not taken with some fancy photo lens. You step off the deck and you are ON the beach! We could not have asked for a more perfect setting. The front bedroom has an uninterrupted view of the ocean, and the back bedroom has a skylight making it light and bright. The living space was very comfortable and everything we needed was available. We were able to completely relax here and look forward to returning. Angela, the owner, was so kind and making the arrangements with her was effortless.

This is our 3rd visit to this cozy and comfortable cottage on the beach and we have never been disappointed. It is clean, bright and fresh with everything that you need. Angela is so accommodating and friendly. This is a dog-friendly beach, so our dog was in "dog heaven". Once we arrived, we never had a reason to drive anywhere else. The little village is a short, easy walk and you can pick up anything that you may need at the grocery store, bookstore or various eateries. We have stayed at other homes, but we prefer the size and location of this property which has been just perfect for our girls weekend. Sitting on the deck and walking along the shoreline while the dog played in the water was so enjoyable. This is just the perfect spot if you want to be right on the beach with an unobstructed view of the ocean. I have recommended this cottage to friends and family. We look forward to coming back next year. Thank you, Angela.

Overdue but here it goes! We stay in this cottage several times a year. It would be more but unfortunately it is booked frequently. The private sand/yard is the best as you have your own beach even during the peak season. The deck has an unobstructed view of the beach, sunsets, south end of Stinson and if you look east Mother Tam towers over you. The cottage is perfect in size, location and personality - smack on the beach! Master bedroom facing the ocean. Location, location, location!! Photos are accurate yet do it no justice. The cottage and the property are ALWAYS clean and well maintained! The owner is always helpful and has intimate knowledge of trails on Tam, fresh produce/fresh crab and other secrets of the area. We totally recommend this to our family & friends. Activities: well there is everything beach! Bring binos for watching birds, whales, dolphins and oodles of super cool dogs. The local store is well stocked and the 2-3 restaurants in town have a great selection. We could give it 10 stars but 5 is the limit.

This is a darling little home with a fantastic view. The problem is it had the most overwhelming smell of mold. I had to use my inhaler frequently and I had my daughter bring an air filtration device, as she was headed into town to stay at a nearby property. Even with the air filter he smell was still strong. The property owner who lives next-door came by on the first day to say a plumber would be coming later that day to fix a leak under the kitchen sink. Under the kitchen cupboard the board was sunk downward with moisture and it was obvious that this took some time. There was mold under it coming up very slightly at the edges. It was probably cleaned but nothing but taking the board out and drying out the moisture will get rid of the mold. All my things smell like mold now. I have to wash the clothes I didn't wear and extra blankets I brought because they smell terrible. My question is how you could live next door and let the moisture get to the point that the board under the cupboard began to curve downward and the place reeks of mold. It is not legal for landlords in CA to knowingly rent a property with mold. I do not know about vacation rentals. The problem is that there are common health risks for certain people when it comes to mold. If a tenant went to hospital with severe respiratory issues there is the potential for a legitimate legal action. Fortunately I was just very uncomfortable. Otherwise the view is perfect and it is a darling little unit.

Owner response: I am very sorry that this guest was unhappy and have made the necessary repairs. The plumber was called immediately the minor leak under the sink was detected. The plumber is very reliable and responsive and lives on the next street - he reports that there is no mold under the sink. The cleaning team comes at least twice a week and always after every guest departs. They understand that its very important to pay attention to details and to report any leaks that may occur. This was a very minor leak and there is absolutely no mold as a result of it. The dis-satisfied guests stayed a full week without any complaints at the time of their stay. There is also no need to bring extra blankets as we supply all necessary bedding. Its just possible that these guests had intended to have more than the maximum number of people staying in the unit and were disgruntled because they were not permitted to do so.
Our family with two young children and our dog had a magical time staying here. Charming, cozy and comfortable cottage. We were always outside on the deck, on the beach or in the water. Surf shop, local grocer, ice cream/dvd rental shop and restaurants were super convenient to stroll to. Angela was very nice. Neighbors were super friendly. Dreaming of going back!

We chose this cottage because it was right on the beach and we were not disappointed! Fun people watching, easy walk to town and local restaurants, great deck and lovely views, and the cottage is so well appointed. Angela was efficient and prompt with all communication. We visited in the winter but the fireplace kept the cottage warm and cozy. We definitely will come back and will recommend to friends!

We enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed our stay!
We really enjoyed our time at this house. My girlfriend and I frequently rent houses in Guerneville and Gualala, but decided to try another area. We were able to get a last minute reservation with the owner, Angela. She was nice enough to accomodate us after our previous lodging at another owners' house in Bolinas didn't work out; due to the description of that Bolinas home not quite living up to its billing. But that's another story. Angela's house in Stinson is well appointed and just right for a stay on the beach. We managed to unwind and relax, we loved it, and willl return. Thank you Angela.

We want to come back!
We want to come back!
I took my three teenagers for some days on the beach. What a wonderful surprise the house was! It was literally on the beach, we could hear the ocean waves from the living room and the bedroom that I stayed in. The house was very clean, and I stayed most of the time on the deck reading magazines and enjoying the sun! What a treat! Angela, the owner, was very nice and answered my emails with questions in a prompt way. My teens went for walks on the beach, watched movies, and walked to the shops in Stinson. I am really glad we stayed in Angela's house. We want to come back soon!

Wonderful Beach House
Wonderful Beach House
We stayed 3nights/3days and loved it. Two adults and 3 young kids fit just fine. Loved the roped-off beach area just in front of the house. Enjoyed walking on the beach during the day. Also spent some time in Mt. Tamalpais S.P. (short drive). The large windows in the living room and bedroom overlooking the water are very nice, and it was nice to leave the windows open and listen to the ocean all night. Walk along the beach to Parkside Cafe for great breakfast. Drive from SFO airport took about 1-hr. Selection at the Stinson Beach Market is not great and prices are quite high. Recommend stopping at the Safeway in Strawberry where Hwy 1 comes off Hwy 101.

What a great spot!
What a great spot!
My family and I had a terrific experience at Angela's cottage. The house is literally right on the beach, and there is a private beach area in front that actually allows for protection from the wind. I was sitting on the deck with a swimsuit on and then needed a long-sleeved cover-up while at the water. The house is small, but very nicely arranged with all the amenities you could need. Angela, the owner, was so nice and easy to communicate with via email and answered all my questions accuately and timely. My kids spent hours in the water after renting wetsuits in town, which was a very easy and nice walk from the house. I would absolutely recommend this house to any small parties that want a little piece of Stinson all to themselves. Very relaxing!

Why the Owner Chose Stinson Beach:
When we discovered Stinson Beach we couldn't believe that such a lovely little town could remain so unspoilt. Even tho its only 30 mins from Mill Valley it remains a refuge from the real world for all who come and stay. Owner is close by and available to answer questions or help to plan your outings. West Marin is such a special place and there's so much to do here , we feel very blessed to be able to share this amazing place.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
There's a Pilates drop in class in town, wonderful Farmers' markets and so much to do in West Marin that its sometimes hard to choose. If you want to explore or stay-put and enjoy the ocean and the beach its an ever changing scene. There are amazing mountain hikes and bicycle rides and perfect bird watching locations.Three great restaurants in town and several well known chefs in Pt Reyes Station 20 mins away- a very scenic drive up the coast road. Stinson Beach town is very quaint and hasn't changed much since the 1960's. There is a library in town where you can see photos of the town dating back to the 1890's. We are surrounded by the GGNRA so there are miles of trails and excellent hiking within easy reach.
