Our cozy cottage has an unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. There is a large deck with table and chairs for reading and sunbathing while watching the world go by. We renovated in 2008 and updated with a new tile floor and new shower enclosure. Our furnishings are kid friendly and we find that even very small children are able to play right on the beach protected from the wind in our private beach lot. Many games of Frisbee and volleyball have been played over the years in our roped-off beach lot. Parents can even sit on the deck and watch their children play on the beach.
Stinson Beach is often sunny while the rest of the Coast is "fogged in" as we have a wonderful micro-climate. The Pacific is really cold for swimming and the surfers - who you can watch from the house always wear wet-suits. Boogie boarding is a favorite sport and many intrepid surfers have got their start Boogie Boarding at Stinson Beach.
The town is charming with lovely restaurants and a children's playground with slides and swings. When you're ready for a hike there are fabulous hiking trails within 5 minutes of the house. One of the most famous is the Dipsea Trail which is a wondrous walk beside a running creek, beneath giant redwoods culminating in a 10 foot ladder climb - really breathtaking. Great beach-combing and shell collecting possibilities abound on the beach.
