This is our second stay in John and Gillian's condo and we loved every minute of it. As other reviewers have noted, the condo is beautifully situated in Yaletown and within blocks of all that the area has to offer. The condo itself is absolutely wonderful and has all the amenities of a home. The living/kitchen/dining spaces all have breathtaking views and plenty of natural light. The kitchen was stocked better than my one at home and a joy to cook in! The master bedroom is small by US standards but perfect for two. The queen bed was comfy and the master bath has a great bathtub for relaxing. The second bedroom is an office/bedroom combo with a pull down wall bed. Once the bed is down there is not much room for moving around but it is just fine for sleeping. The 3rd bed is another wall bed in the solarium right off the dining room. Again, very small room but perfect for sleeping. The second bathroom is off the entry way and has a shower. The condo has a fantastic DVD/CD library and all the travel books you could imagine. The owners love of travel is evident in the decor as they have brought many of their treasures home with them. They have created a beautiful zen like environment in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Thank you John and Gillian for another lovely stay. We will be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The apartment was wonderful! The view from the 22nd floor was impressive. A small table and 2 chairs on the patio would have been a perfect touch for morning breakfast (my only recommendation). The location was perfect, close to the water taxi to Granville Island, the shoreline walking/bike riding path and the delicious restaurants just 5 minutes away. The upscale grocery store (Urban Fare) and liquor store are 10 minute walk. The alcohol in the BC liquor stores is very expensive! We rented bikes from Reckless across from Urban Fare, they were really nice, gave us their season pass to the aquarium to use for the day. The Aquarium was small but impressive. We were there for the fire works in August, packed a picnic and enjoy the show from the beach. The people in Vancouver are friendly. The city is clean. We brought our 20 year old daughter and friend and they had a blast. A must see is Butchart Gardens in Victoria, worth the ferry trip over. Biking around Stanley Park was beautiful. We would return to Vancouver & stay at John & Gillian's again without a doubt. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What more is there to say apart from the fact that this is an utterly fantastic property and that we were welcomed with open arms by lovely, nice people, Mr and Mrs S (owners). We enjoyed every minute there and look forward to going back. Location, views, and the flat itself are all impeccable. Thanks ever so much, Mr and Mrs S. --AW and JR, Washington DC.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My two sisters and myself stayed in this condo for 4 nights and found it to be perfectly suited to us. It is in a great spot in Yaletown: easy walk to the Marina to catch the Aquabus downtown or to Granville Island, great spot for walking by the waterfront, lots of restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as grocery stores, easy 2 blocks walk from the Skytrain from the Airport. The condo itself was roomy for the three of us with a private bedroom each (two murphy beds in dens plus master bedroom). It was spotless on our arrival, and had a very well-equipped kitchen allowing us to stock up at the Granville Market and cook quite a bit "at home" during our visit. The view is beautiful, and the condo is very nicely furnished--feels like a home rather than a rental. The owners met my sisters at the condo when they arrived and helped them get acclimated, including a good take-out recommendation for the first night. Upon leaving I realized I had forgotten my cell phone, and Gillian arranged to have it mailed to me one day later, which I especially appreciated. We would very happily rent this again and highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My brother, sister-in-law, and I spent 4 fabulous, fun-filled days in November of 2011 at this beautiful, perfectly situated condo. It could not have been better! Very clean and well-maintained, very "make yourselves at home" comfortable warm decor. Everything we needed was within walking distance. A wonderful market nearby with a small eatery that offered "eat-in" or "take out" homestyle cooking, a stop at the liquor store on our way home from the market (wine of course!) and the downtown area was an enjoyable stroll through Vancouver. Thank you Gillian for your hospitality! We loved your home! Owner response: Your review means so much to us. Thank you for your kind words. We will always continue to do our best to make our apartment pleasurable for our guests.

I visited Vancouver to attend a business meeting. I decided that staying at a busy hotel was the last thing I needed after being surrounded by people from work all day. I did not want to remain immersed in the same mentally and physically crowded environment. Gillian and John's place provided everything I needed to breakaway from the meeting, have my own space, yet be close enough so that transportation was not a hindrance to reach my meetings on time. The apartment was furnished with impeccable taste and the ambiance and views were most inviting. Not only was the place everything I wanted and more, but the tone of the interaction with Gillian was most friendly and accommodating to unexpected last minute changes in my trip. The first evening, I walked a block away from the apartment to one of the many restaurants in Yaletown to meet some friends for dinner. That night I fell asleep watching – from my bed - the lights reflecting on False Creek. The following morning, I awoke fully refreshed to the light tapping of raindrops against the bedroom window. Undeterred by the rain, I decided to take a walk at Stanley Park. Once I got there, I found myself switching from umbrella to sunglasses. A radiant day in Vancouver! Next time I come…forget work! I’ll come on vacation!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rendezvoused with our young adult children; this apartment was perfect for us. Well appointed, very comfortable, great place to hang out after joint as well as disparate activities. We enjoyed cocktails and sunsets, appreciated the well appointed kitchen and the surprise workout room with various machines, free weights, treadmills, and tiled spa with whirlpool -- great for soaking sore feet after a long day of hiking in nearby mountains. My husband says: "The best features of the apartment are what Vancouver is famous for – spectacular window views and a bright southern exposures letting in maximum light even on an overcast day. The little balconies were a bit dizzying but give you a chance to test the weather and take in a breath of ocean air. The furniture is attractive and comfortable. I fell asleep in front of the TV as easily as I do back home. The apartment is a great place to stay in Vancouver!" I'd add that we felt welcome and comfortable and happily ensconced from the moment we arrived.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gillian and John's condo/apt prior to taking a cruise in August. Gillian and John warmly welcomed us when we arrived and explained all we needed to know and also pointed out restaurants and points of interest from the balcony. The view from all sides is spectacular with floor to ceiling windows and two balconies. The condo is beautifully furnished and spacious; making it very comfortable for two couples. The bedrooms and bathrooms are separated by living space for privacy. We also appreciated the overall cleanliness and fully equiped kitchen. John had even cleaned the grill on the balcony just prior to our arrival. The building is very secure and in a great location; walking distance to everything you need from a wonderful market/grocery to Yaletown restaurants and the Granville ferry. John even insisted on taking us to the ship port rather than taking a taxi. They are a great couple! We would love to visit Vancouver for a longer stay in the future and will definitely rent from Gillian and John when we do. Also, based on this wonderful experience, we will look into renting their condo in Mexico in the winter. This was the 6th VRBO we've rented and the best experience yet!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent 8 days in this lovely apartment which is in the best location and has awesome views. The apartment is so nicely furnished, has a great kitchen and washing machine and two bedrooms – with very comfortable beds. The place is nicely decorated but no so much that you need to worry about breaking things and therefore we could relax with a small child (our son was 3). The place was certainly child friendly (thanks to the grand kids of Gillian and John. Gillian and John were great and it really felt like we had arrived to visit old friends. After the rather stressful flight being met at the front door when the cab arrived and the beer with John and Gillian as they showed us around the place was such a great welcome. The apartment is close to everything and has some great places to eat near by but lots of transport as well for anything out of walking distance. This place is great value, cosy and warm and you will have the time of your life as we did in beautiful Vancouver.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My friend, her mom & mom-in-law, and I stayed here for 5 days back in May/June. Just walking into the apartment completely wowed me! Gillian was wonderful and kind, and the apartment was beautifully furnished with just about everything you could ask for. The views are amazing, from anywhere in the apartment. It housed the 4 of us really well - 2 in the large bed in the master, 1 in the den, and 1 in the office. 2 full bathrooms. Very comfortable and clean. Awesome location - when going to Vancouver, I usually stayed at the Opus, which is only a couple blocks away. It's close to great food & shopping. I love the privacy of having an apartment vs. a hotel, and there's even parking available that's not $25/day! From now on, I will definitely call Gillian before heading up to Vancouver and hope to stay here many more times! It's hands down my preference for lodging in Vancouver now. Thanks so much for your hospitality, Gillian! It was a very memorable vacation with the ladies. :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Gillian and John's apartment was even more amazing than the pictures suggested. The panaramic views from the floor to ceiling windows were spectacular - especially at night! We had everything we could have asked for and more, to our surprise. Everything was super clean and well maintained. And the rooms beautifully and tastefully decorated. We were right across the street from Yaletown which had some of the most amazing restaurants - Rodney's Grill and Oyster Bar, Ciopinno's and the fun patio at Glowbal Restaurant. Thank you so much for your hospitality Gillian and John! We have would recommend your place to anyone and everyone! Until next time!
