Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2008
We've moved several times. This last change involved trading our horses, cow and goats in for surf boards and flip flops. It helped my sick daughter get well. We love Port A. Thought I'd miss the country quiet, but views of the ocean and dunes are a fair trade. We have a sailboat and love sailing here! I'm now a massage therapist. My husband sails and works on restoring a recently acquired classic Hinckley sailboat. The girls skate, bike and surf between school assignments.
Why the Owner Chose Old Town
It is the best location in town and a really cool place. It's just so peaceful to look out and see water and dunes through every window. OK, the first floor can't see water because the dunes have grown too tall. The houses on the street are placed so everyone has great views. I still can't believe we have such a perfect spot! Beach and channel view from 2nd floor. Hear the surf and feel the ocean breeze. Cozy enough for friends and large enough for friends with families. It's a great beach walk or a quiet stroll thru the historical neighborhood.
The Unique Benefits of this House
I love waking up to see the dunes in the fog. It settles down with a gentle mist that's just breathtaking. I throw on a hoodie and walk thru the path there is a spot just before the crest of the last dune. That's where the smell is. The wonderful salt that is the Gulf. That's where I stop and stare out at the water and wonder why I am am only here once a day! Everything is here for a comfortable stay. It really feels like home. An eclectic mix of antiques and new stuff. Ocean sounds lull me to sleep. The neighborhood is a quiet and interesting place to walk. I love finding the tiny historical chapel tucked away on the highest spot on the island.

We had a great time here over a long weekend. Very close to the beach (just a short walk over the dunes), everything we needed was in the house and the owners were very nice and available if we needed anything. There was plenty of room for all four adults in our party and the beds were incredibly comfortable!

The apartment is about as close to the beach as one can get. The apartment has excellent amenities. The main bedroom is spacious, the kitchen has all the dishes and flatware and cooking ware one would need; there are ample bed linens and towels. There are even several original oil paintings. The apartment includes a well-stocked laundry room. The back door opens to a pleasing sitting/picnic area. Suzanne responds immediately to questions/concerns, and is a warm, charming host .who welcomes dogs. I would recommend this property, without qualification, to anyone.

I highly recommend this great rental in Port Aransas, especially for families. It is quite roomy and is basically like a furnished apartment. Everything looks so fresh and clean! The owner is very pleasant and helpful, and is more than happy to offer advice on restaurants and activities and help with any concerns that you might have. It is a little hard to find, but that only adds to your feeling of privacy and security.
Owner response:Thanks so much for staying with us! It was great getting to visit with you!

This rental has a really great location and friendly owners. For a little extra cost, you can even add on a massage upstairs! They have the cutest kitty residents and a few friendly dogs that love to greet you. We had a great stay.
Owner response:It was so much fun meeting you all. I'm glad you had a great stay. Hope to see you again!

This rental is very well located in close proximity to dining, entertainment and of course the beach. It was very clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The owners were pleasant to deal with and I would recommend this rental to anyone traveling to Port A.

We had a wonderful stay at Dolphin House. The beds, towels and linens were great. The snack and breakfast items were healthy and well-chosen. Excellent location, too. We can't wait to come back.
