The Aloha House was wonderful. There were two babies at the family reunion that stayed at the Aloha House and they loved all the toys and the full size crib. We used the jogging stroller at the beach daily; also all the beach toys and huge supply of beach towels were great. The kitchen was equipped with everything and was wonderful to cook in. The huge flat screen was great to use because the owners have supplied more then 400 movies for entertainment at night. The upstairs master suite wrap around deck was great place to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset over Hanalei Bay. We can't wait to return. March 2012 Connecticut

We absolutely love the North Shore of Kauai and the Aloha House fitted all of our needs. The kitchen was wonderful with everything you could think of to cook with. The beautiful serving dishes were used for an 80th birthday celebration. The Owners even provided a portable Webber Grill for the beach to use to have great picnic dinners at the beach which we used at least twice. All of the beach items were great we didn't have to rent anything. My mom and dad loved the beach chairs were large and comfortable. My two daughters went boogie boarding every day. We also were able to take advantage of the two bikes and children bikes. We were so happy with how everything was done so well with the Aloha House.

This was our second time in Kauai, and we scouted out this location in Princeville being very close to the st. Regis resort and a beach. There were a few issues upon our arrival in which the owners took care of immediately, really great owners! We spent an entire month at this house and it really was a great rental. The beds were all very comfortable, the linens were aged but of high quality ( some were garnet hill) and the kitchen was highly equipped with everything you would ever need to cook any type of meal. Oh and the outdoor shower was simply perfect. The issues we had with the rental were few. ALL of the beach towels, and some of the bed linens need to be replaced ASAP, they were thread bare. All of the baby equipment is 10-15 years old and barely in working order. They really need to replace the baby swing, it was awful to be honest. The baby jogger was pretty bad as well, and most of the beach equipment was either broken or really old. Not one of the 12 beach umbrellas worked, so we bought out own. I do understand that rentals get a lot of wear and tear, but things should be replaced after a while. We did have an issue with cockroaches, but the owners had the bug sprayers to the house within a day, so that was nice. Cockroaches are simply part of a tropical ecosystem. ( but the kitchen could use a really deep scrub ) the last issue we really were bummed about was the smell of the house. Most of the house is carpeted, and carpet in a rental just doesn't stay clean. There was an underlying dirty feet smell to the house, in which was covered up partially by about 30 air fresheners placed all around the house. They were everywhere. Which is a good thing, otherwise, the stench would have been horrendous! Overall we loved the rental, but probably would not rent the house again. There are just so many good rentals in Princeville. Hope this helps!
Owner response:The Aloha House guest sent us this email after staying 4 days at the Aloha House: "We are all moved in and set up for the month and we are very happy! Your house is great and the size is just what we wanted, we did not want to feel smooshed, if you know what I mean." At no time was there any mention of the carpet to the manager or owner. The carpet since the guest's have left has been deep cleaned. The guests also sent an email that they believed they brought some coach roaches into the house after a trip to Costco. Thus the exterminator came out twice because he was asked by the guests to come back to finish. The beach towels have all been purchased within the last 6 months I have now ordered additional larger towels for the Aloha House. The baby equipment and stroller was all purchased in the last 5 years and a March 2012 guest said how much they enjoyed the equipment and the jogging stroller. During the guests month stay there was no mention regarding the carpet, baby equipment or the alleged "12" umbrellas and "30" air freshener, which did not exist. There was an air freshener in each closet. We have now added some additional baby equipment. Beach toys that have been broken have been thrown out and replaced. The eight Tommy Bahama chairs were in great condition that were purchased within the year. As owners we travel to the Aloha House at least twice a year and make sure that items are in good order for the guests. We have a family that has visited the Aloha House over 6 times because because they enjoy the home so much and have made another reservation for next year. Owner to the Aloha House for over 11 years.

My family, which includes two children, stayed at this beautiful home in January 2012, and our experience was amazing. This home, is a truly a home away from home, with all of the extras like the hot tub, outdoor shower, wraparound patio where we sat each night to watch the sunset. You don't even need to leave the house to have a great vacation, but of course you will want to as there are so amazing beaches nearby this location. Not only was the home a wonderful place to be, dealing with the owner of the property was a pleasure. We will definitely return to the rightfully named Aloha House. My children loved the extras this home has for them as well, like the games, the snorkel gear, the boards....My husband and I loved being able to put the children to sleep and to sit on the upper patio with a glass of wine and revel in the beauty of the location and to feel the ocean breeze. The bedrooms, the kitchen, the living area, the outdoor deck, the landscaping all add to the welcoming charm and grace of this beautiful Kauai home. It fits for this island too, the garden island. So, if you are looking for a place to call "home" while you stay on the beautiful island of Kauai, I highly recommend this place. I cannot wait to book my next trip to Hawaii, and I will definitely be returning to the Aloha House. Thanks to the wonderful owners of this home, as it stands out from all of the rest. Their love for this place really shines!

This house was perfect for our family. We stayed almost 3 weeks with our two small children. The location was great. Halfway between Anini and Hanalei, it doesn’t get any better for families. We frequently walked from the house to the beach in Princeville also. The house was so well equipped with everything from a high chair to boogie boards, it was almost like being at home. We cooked at the house most of the time. Everything in the kitchen was clean and no surprise, the grill was excellent. I worked during our stay and it was simple to set up a small office in one of the bedrooms. Beds were comfortable, neighborhood is quiet. We would not hesitate to come back.

It was our first family vacation, 7 of us stayed for 9 days and had the time of our lives. The house was wonderfully accommodating, it had all the amenities we needed! We never had to rent anything, the Aloha House had it all. We saved so much money not having to go out to eat for every meal, and the hot tub was a great way to relax after a fun day at the beach. I would/will stay here again, and I recommend it as your safe harbor on this fantastic island.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary; the space was way more than we needed but provided a perfect retreat. The home is set up ideally to have multiple families/couples stay together and accommodate children as well. I can still smell the sweet aroma of the orange flower blossoms right outside the balcony of the upstairs bedroom. Hanalei Bay was a short drive away and it was our favorite beach on the island, the water was bath-tub calm. The home was very clean and equipped with all that we needed to prepare meals and enjoy our stay. The extra amenities such as snorkel gear, boogie boards, cooler, mountain bikes etc. were icing on the cake and enabled us to explore much on the beautiful island. Queen Emma's Bath, a quick bike ride from the property was a must see in the area, the path to reach the "Bath" was as much of a delight as the site itself! For future visitors we would also recommend taking a catamaran tour of the Na Pali coast, simply breathtaking. Thank you Tracy, for everything. We treasure the memories made here.

We had a family reunion/vacation in Kauai. This house was perfect. Great having bedrooms with bath attached. The views are amazing! The house is clean and well equipped. Also great for kids. The owner has EVERYTHING you need for a baby or toddler. Location is great unless you want to spend a lot of time on the south shore. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed 7 days in the beginning of September with 3 friends. What a beautiful house! We were concerned at first with no A/C, but the breezes kept the house cool during the days and chilly at night. The lanai on the master bedroom offers great views and is a wonderful place to stargaze on clear nights. And everything was so clean! As for the area, breathtaking!! We took the mountain bikes to Queen Emma's bath. What glorious views! We rented some scooters and dove off some waterfall. Spectacular! We spent an evening at the Smith's Family Luau and liked the drink, food, and entertainment they provided. But, what we really enjoyed was relaxing on the sands at Ke'e Beach. It wasn't crowded and the walk in the protected area is sandy (hard to find). We even ran across a Monk Seal! All-in-all, it has to be the most relaxing vacation I've ever been on and the nicest rental property we have ever stayed in. I would also like to send a special thanks to Tracy. She was amazingly cooperative and was always quick to return communications. Made the whole planning phase very smooth. Aloha, Monica & Eddie - Dayton,OH

My friends and I stayed at the Aloha House in Feb. 2007 and had a great time. The home is beautiful and well cared for. It is a short walk from everything, including several beaches, and the Princeville Resort. I would definitely consider staying at the Aloha House on my return to Kauai. It is extremely affordable and perfect for a family or several couples!

The Aloha House is the best! Super clean, beautifully decorated with tasteful furniture and artwork (no ratan or motel prints here, folks), large bedrooms, each with a private full bath with ample room for personal items, and a well stocked kitchen. It even had a stepping stool for us shorties. We loved visiting on the lanais, but had no time to enjoy the huge assortment of books, movies, and games. The internet connection let us stay connected with family back home. The younger people in our group enjoyed ziplining, snorkeling, hiking, while us older folks loved walking on the many, beautiful beaches, shopping, watching whales and turtles at the lighthouse, driving to the Waimea Canyon, touring two of the botanical gardens, and especially the helicoptor ride (Blue Hawaii Co.) to Na Pali. The food at the Smith Tropical Paradise luau was good, but the show was a disappointment. We hope to return soon to the Aloha House. De and Harry, Bainbridge Island, WA

Aloha, What a great house! This is our third visit to Kauai. I didn't think anything could be better then Mauai but all 6 of us agreed that Kauai is now our favorite island. Our son proposed to a wonderful young lady on our visit so the island will also be special to us for that reason. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We had a wonderful vacation at the Aloha House. The weather was wonderful. We went to a new beach everyday on the North Shore. The out door hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day. The view from the second story lanai is wonderful and the lanai has a living area to have a glass of wine. I will definately return.
