Outstanding - in all respects

This is an absolutely fantastic property, in a stunning location. The fishing and golf were great - and the kids and family had a wonderful time. The lodgings are outstanding - well furnished, comfortable and convenient. I cannot say enough great things about this location. I highly recommend it.

Fabulous time

Guest: Geoff and Cat (Denver)
Date of Stay: 03/26/12 Review Submitted: 04/07/12

The place was perfect and so very comfortable that we hated to leave. It was amazing to wake up each morning and watch the geese right outside the back sliding glass door while having your coffee. And the view of the mountains from the place is breathtaking. The condo has everything and they have put a lot of time and care into it to make it a perfect get-a-way home. We loved it so much we started looking at possible places around there. Needed the time away and being able to go between Glenwood Springs and Aspen is the perfect combo. Loved Basalt and Carbondale small town atmosphere the most and found some great local restaurants. Thank you John and Pam for a wonderful spring break!!!

Perfect weekend stay!

Guest: Jean (Denver)
Date of Stay: 09/23/11 Review Submitted: 09/28/11

Our weekend stay at this condo was nothing short of spectacular! It was very, very clean, comfortable, quiet, and in a perfect location. The neighors are friendly and it has everything you need. My friend and I stayed for three nights and wanted to stay for another week! We were so close to everything that we could hike the Maroon Bells, bike on the Rio Grande Trail along the Roaring Fork River, bike the canyon near Glenwood Springs, relax in the hot springs and go out for a great dinner in Aspen. The best part was taking a fly fishing lesson in the Frying Pan River through Taylor Creek Fly Shop in Basalt - just up the road a bit. We've already planned our next trip to include the things we just couldn't squeeze in - jeep tour, hot air balloon ride, drive up Independence Pass, ride horses and play golf and/or tennis. If you're looking for somewhere in the perfect location that is priced just right with endless activities to choose from, this is it. You can't go wrong.

A Fishing Fanatic's Find!

Guest: Brooktrout (Johnson City, TN/USA)
Date of Stay: 09/10/11 Review Submitted: 10/05/11

This property provided us a wonderful vacation spot that stood up to the promise of great fishing. The creeks on the property were so well maintained and full of healthy trout. The Roaring Fork River runs by the boundary and there are also several ponds. The condo itself was very nice with a great layout for private sleeping areas. It was well furnished, equipped, and clean. The owners seemed to take good care of the property and the grounds were immaculate. Bird watchers would be in heaven and you could even play a few holes of golf if you had the time. Carbondale is a good area, close to Glenwood Springs and Aspen. We have stayed in this area many times before but not in a place that actually lived up to its promises. This place did and we hope to return!

Just wanted to let you know we again enjoyed the use of your condo. We will be signing up again next year. We left early Friday morning when it was fifty degrees. Got home and it was 107 degrees. Today in Eastern Kansas it is 106. I hope your cleaners found everything in order at the condo. It was a pleasure meeting you and getting to put a face wih the phone voice. Have a good year.

Had a terrific visit as always. I couldn't keep the fish off my hook. It rained on and off on Tuesday and the brown trout went nuts. We really enjoy our time at your spot and now I'm hooked. I hope you're doing well and maybe we can arrange another visit later in the year.

John, had a great stay. Condo was roomy and nice. Once again the fishing was unbelievable. On a week where the entire valley was unfishable the Ranch stood out as unique. Caddis hatch at 6:00 PM was unbelievable! Would have played the par 3 but the fishing was too good break away. Hope to see you again in the fall. Thanks again for all your hospitality. SJ

We had a wonderful time at the condo, and Pete asked me to report that the fishing was fabulous. He and James (our son in law) found all kinds of action in the bushes along the Roaring Fork (which was in very high flood state), and in one of the new streams close to where it joins with the Fork. They report on the last full day we were there (Saturday) they caught between 30 and 40 fish in a 4 hour period. . . . judged to be fabulous. You have a wonderful property, and we would like to visit again in the future. We will be in touch, perhaps for some time in the fall. If you would like us to be references for others who are looking to rent, we would be happy to (as long as they aren't looking at time we might like to be there). Let us know if we can help.

Wonderful Mountain Get-away

Guest: Matt (Aurora)
Date of Stay: 06/12/11 Review Submitted: 06/21/11

My wife and I recently spent four nights at this condo and had a wonderful time. Our favorite part of the stay was sitting out on the back patio, enjoying the amazing views of the pond, beautiful vistas and Mt. Sopris. One evening, we even spotted a bald eagle soaring above looking for dinner. We found the condo to be well-equipped, very clean and spacious. The master bedroom's king bed was comfortable, with views of the pond and mountains. I especially appreciated the condo's access to the internet and cable TV. The par 3 golf course and tennis courts are within walking distance and my wife and I were impressed with how well maintained they were. We also enjoyed our afternoon walks on the property's many walking trails to and from the nearby Roaring Fork and local streams. The condo is perfectly located within a short drive to nearby Carbondale, Aspen and Marble/Redstone. The highlight of the trip may have been the 4x4 jeep tour we took from Marble up to Crystal City and the Crystal Mill. Simply spectacular. I would highly recommend staying in this condo if you are looking for a mountain vacation that will include everything Colorado has to offer.

Simply Outstanding

Guest: Dan J. (Colorado)
Date of Stay: 03/31/11 Review Submitted: 04/11/11

I highly recommend this property. The accomodations were spacious, comfortable, meticulously clean and charming. The property is located right on a small lake with great views of the mountains; and it is just a short walk to lakes, streams and the Roaring Fork River. All of the fishing is world class, well maintained and uncrowded. We vacationed with young children (ages 2 thru 9), and they had a fantastic time romping through the fields, catching trout and exploring the ranch. The property is also just a short scenic drive to Aspen or Snowmass, with all of the festivals, skiing, hiking and outdoor activities that abound there. An absolutely fanastic place to vacation.

I'm without words to say the fun we had with your unit. John, your place was the best, we had a great reunion, combined with our son's house a few miles away. Do me an honor and let me rent your place again. Respectfully, Ian

We really enjoyed our stay! Your unit is well cared for and so very peaceful. We would be happy to recommend it. Our hikes to Thomas Lakes in the Mt. Sopris area and to Crater Lake in Aspen were spectacular. Bicycling along the River Grande rail trail was also wonderfut. Phil enjoyed fishing on the river twice.

Thanks for the pleasure of letting us enjoy your piece of paradise. Your condo was well appointed. My wife said it looked like I decorated it myself. I told her there weren't enough references of fish in the decor! An aquarium with 18" browns would be nice. Actually that would be too tempting. Anyway we had a great time. Thanks for sharing it with us.

To Whom It May Concern, I have been a guest at the Ranch at Roaring Fork a number of times. It reflects the best of Colorado, and I have always enjoyed the time I have spent there. The Ranch is situated on one of Colorado's most scenic rivers, about half way between Glenwood Springs and Aspen. The condos are very comfortable and located next to the Roaring Fork River. There is exceptional fishing a short walk from the condos or on any of the public accessible portions of the river. There are many hiking trails available in the vicinity of the Ranch, including many that meander up the mountains. It is a beautiful area to explore. I would encourage anyone interested in a unique Colorado experience to enjoy this location.

A weekend in fly fishing paradise

Guest: Mr. Geoff (Centennial, CO)
Date of Stay: 07/10/09 Review Submitted: 04/29/10

My wife and I spent a relaxing weekend, with another couple, last summer (2009) in this unit at the Ranch at Roaring Fork. The accommodations were comfortable and very well maintained. The guys fished the MILES of private trout streams, while the wives rode their bike on the many bike paths and visited nearby towns to shop. The kitchen was fully equipped, so we ate most of our meals there. We had a wonderful weekend getaway, only three hours from Denver.

"We loved your place in Carbondale! What a great setting -- the pond & view were great and a walk along the river was fun . . . very high, rushing water. Your place was very comfortable and the decorating was very cozy and nice.
