A trail to the Superior Hiking Trail goes from the house to the beautiful Kadunce River and its many waterfalls. WindCradle is a short drive to the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness for day trips. In winter, all of these areas are great for snow-shoeing. Cook County has hundreds of kilometers for groomed cross country ski trails, and Lutsen is half an hour away for downhill skiing.
The town of Grand Marais offers artsy funky shopping and dining.
Minimum rental is for four nights--October-April; minimun rental is one week May-September.
