WindCradle is located 8 miles north of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Sit by the stone fireplace and watch Lake Superior's crashing winter waves. The beach is the perfect setting for hiking and beach combing.

A trail to the Superior Hiking Trail goes from t he house to the beautiful Kadunce River and its many waterfalls. WindCradle is a short drive to the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness for day trips. In winter, all of these areas are great for snow-shoeing. Cook County has hundreds of kilometers for groomed cross country ski trails, and Lutsen is half an hour away for downhill skiing.

The town of Grand Marais offers artsy funky shopping and dining.

Minimum rental is for two nights.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! All the amenities of home. Wonderful deck looking out to the lake. Steps to the Superior Hiking Trail. Short drive to Lutsen mountain. Peaceful experience collecting rocks and star gazing by the lake! Very nice family friendly accommodations for a great spring vacation. We were able to pack in all of this and more in a short 3 day weekend!
