My wife and I just spent two weeks in this house (1/26 - 2/9/2011) and it was everything we expected. The view is beautiful, the quietness is just what we needed. The amenities in the home are plentiful, the beds are comfy, and the lani is a prefect place to have your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. This house is centrally located - there is grocery shopping 2 miles away, beaches are 6 miles down the hill, there are several golf courses close by, Volcano National Park is about 2 hours south, Hilo is a couple hours east, and if you can't be away from Costco, it is a couple of miles south of the airport! The owner Joe, is easy to work with and his housekeeper Andrea, is quite helpful. Where else can you get a deal like this in Hawaii? No more hotels for us! If you haven't taken the Mauna Kea summit tour, it is a must do/see. There are a few companies that offer this tour and we went with Hawaii Forest and Trail. Don't forget the zipline tour. Again, there are a few companies and we went with Nui Pohaku Adventure Tours on Hawaii. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your house Joe. Bob & Renee

We just spent a week (4 of us) in this house and recommend it highly to anyone visiting the dry side of Hawaii. 6 miles down to A-Bay and all the other beaches; close to groceries and other amenities and the house was beautiful. Lots of dishes and all the amenities of home. Wonderful view to top it off.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+.

This house is way more awesome than the written description or the photos. The house is extremely well maintained and has wonderful high quality furniture and furnishings that you might want in your own home. The Hawaiian feel is wonderful..We were on the Big Island for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year's for vacation and our daughter's wedding. We had the rehearsal dinner, New Year's Eve party and several BBQs for family and friends...usually with 20-25 people at each event. The house is perfect for entertaining - lots of room and great dishes for serving, etc. The ceiling fans are great when the weather gets humid. It is very quiet and peaceful, such that you really enjoy waking up to the birds in the morning. Everyone who visited us raved about the house and what a great place it was to have everyone getting together. A highlight was getting hair and makeup done for the wedding on the lanai...it was truly a Hawaiian feeling! We give our highest recommendation for this house. We will certainly stay here again. We also had a chance to meet the the owner - he is a great guy and was fun to talk with!

We had a very enjoyable stay for slightly more than three weeks in June and July. You get three beautiful bedrooms with comfortable beds for less than the price of a single room at nearby hotels. The kitchen contains all you need for vacation cooking. Eating on the patio is delightful. There is cable TV with plenty of sets. Several really great beaches are only a short drive away. If you don't like to cook, there are many fine restaurants nearby (actually all over the island if you are willing to drive). The neighborhood is very quiet. There is great shopping associated with many of the nearby resorts. All in all a great home base for exploring the Big Island.

I spent 4 nights at the house at the end of May, 2010. It was a fantastic stay. The house was in excellent condition and very clean. Granite countertops, fully equiped kitchen, good beds, huge master bath & closet, etc. We cooked all our meals and ate most of them on the deck, overlooking the Kona coast. The owner was warm & welcoming. He was easy to work with and there were no surprises. I highly recommend the house and will definitely stay here again. - Shawn

Had a wonderful vacation on the Big Island for the month of March. This house was just great; the owner very accommodating; close to one of the best beachers around (about 12 minutes) plus the golf at a Robert Trent Jones course for $35 was a steal. Includes cart. Sunsets were breathtaking and the stars at night were stunning. If you are looking for a family (or 2 couples) vacation, this unit is absolutely perfect.
