We had a wonderful stay at the Lighthouse Cottage, located in the historic district of Beaufort. This is a perfect location for singles or a romatic getaway for 2. Definitely recommend a stop at Harris Teeter's grocery store, if you are driving in from the west. It has a great selection of food & spirits. The cottage is within walking distance to Front Street, which has great shopping and dining. We had a great lunch, on the water, at Spouter Inn (try their desserts!) and a fabulous dinner at the Front Street Grill. If you are traveling to Beaufort - this is the place to stay!

Our stay the Lighthouse Cottage was delightful in so many ways. Although we were informed in the advertisement about all the amenities included with the rental, we were mightily impressed with the amount and variety of staples and extras that were provided; we needed to bring or buy little beyond some personal care items and food for the meals we prepared. The cottage itself was modern, quiet and private, cheerfully furnished and very clean. As mid-westerners we throughly enjoyed our visit to Shackleford Banks, The National Seashore Park Center, and the NC Aquarium. Beaufort itself was a delight to wander around in, checking our the historic old houses, the Old Burying Ground and Marine Museum. Deborah and her assistant were very helpful with advice where to visit, where to eat, and how to cook seafood.

Our stay a the LIghthouse Cottege was perfect, as far as location and ammenedies. The bikes were great to explore the beautiful port of Beaufort. The cottage was comfortable, clean and had a well stocked kitchen for cooking a couple in nights. Walking to resturants and the waterfront was so convienient. Cannot wait to go back!

Lighthouse cottage is perfectly sized for two people. A wonderful alternative to a hotel, the cottage has all the comforts of home. Our stay was made very comfortable due to the supplies that are conveniently provided. The owner was also very prompt in taking care of a minor concern we encountered. The location is central to many attractions we frequent when in the coastal NC area. We recommend it without hesitation to any couple looking to experience the Crystal Coast/Historic Beaufort.

Lighthouse Cottage Review

From the outside, Lighthouse Cottage hides all the amenities that are inside! The cottage is decorated in blues, yellows, and white, in a beachy ocean theme. It is immaculate and has lots of extras - bikes, helmets, beach towels, board games, iron, hair dryer, laundry facilities, well stocked kitchen, cable TV, DVD player, phone, air conditioning. It's location is also wonderful. My husband and I enjoyed its proximity to downtown Beaufort and loved walking the 3 blocks to town every day to sightsee and shop. The Maritime Museum is a must-see - artifacts from Blackbeard's ship, Queen Anne's Revenge, are on display. Beaufort offers wonderful restaurant dining - we had a fabulous dinner at Spouter Inn on the wharf. It was a little expensive but the food was out of this world and they had absolutely the BEST bloody Mary's ever! Clawson's is another place I would recommend to eat. It's has a slightly more casual atmosphere and would be a great place for lunch - try the onion rings!!...you won't believe how good they are! The General Store must be visited at least once for the best ice cream!!! Morehead City is only 10 minutes away and offers more shopping opportunities. Bistro by the Sea is also an excellent place to eat, but a bit expensive...save this for as the place to eat on your last night of vacation! Morehead City and Beaufort both offer a good variety of fishing opportunities for the fishermen in your family. Deborah was always available to answer any questions we had regarding the surrounding beaches and activities and made our visit like our home away from home. I would recommend Lighthouse Cottage to either a single traveler or a couple as it only has one bedroom, but it does have a couch that could be used for sleeping an additional person if needed. We loved the Lighthouse Cottage and will definitely be coming back!

Great stay, Great location!! We are a middle aged couple looking for a nice place that we could have the ammenities of home but stay on a budget. This is your place. Nicely apponted kitchen, laundry facilities, clean comfortable cottage. The cottage is only a few blocks away from the water front and you can ride the bikes there for your convenience. some nice little restaurants and shops tucked in here and there for you to explore. Nice beach only 20 minutes away over the bridge in Atlantic City. Fort Macon with covered pavillion right on beach. We plan to return next year. Owners very accomodating. Thanks for a great time

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Beaufort and the cottage. It was very clean and comfortable. Deborah was very helpful and great to work with. The cottage has every convenience. The washer & dryer were especially nice for doing laundry after a day out on our boat. The location is great - just a few short blocks into town to the restaurants and historic sites. We attended the Wine & Food Festival and all these events were within walking distance. A great town + a great place to stay!

The Cottage is a perfect place for two to stay at. It has a warm, cozy and relaxed atmosphere with the feeling that you are on the beach. The property is clean and well maintained. The ammenities, such as the washer, clothes drier, stove, refrigerator and coffee pot are there for your ease. Every thing you need for a week or a longer stay is at your disposal. The owners are very cooperative and no doubt have the interest of you in mind when you arrive and during the stay. We would definately stay here again and also, highly recommend it to our family and friends.

My husband and I had a great week at the Lighthouse Cottage in Beaufort, NC. The cottage was very nice - well maintained and clean! The beach bikes looked new and provided a great way to see the entire Beaufort waterfront. The owner made a point of talking to us during our stay and gave us many suggestions for food and nearby attractions. We would definately stay there again and recommend this property to any couple looking to relax on the beach and/or do some sightseeing.
