Great Home in Perfect Palm Springs Location

Guest: MGM M.
Date of Stay: 11/10/11 Review Submitted: 11/21/11

Nine of us arrived as guests for a family wedding weekend. Everything advertised in the property description proved accurate. The quiet neighborhood is great for walking or biking. The home is very spacious and provided considerable privacy as well as wonderful spaces for group dining and activities. The Villa is walking distance (not a short hike) to numerous Palm Springs dining and shopping spots though we usually drove. Property manager was very helpful and set a very nice tone for the visit. Owner is very responsive and professional by email. We hope to return and would certainly want to again stay at Villa Verspero.

Wonderful Weekend

We stayed here for my sister's bachelorette weekend. The house is gorgeous, clean, and very spacious. We felt very much at home. The home is very close to popular shopping and restaurants (within one mile). The owner and property manager are very helpful and easy to get in touch with. We hope we can stay here again.

Best house and location in Palm Springs

I celebrated my 50th at Villa Vespero in May 2011. I can't say enough good things about the house and its location. It was even better than the photos and description. I have been to Palm Springs many times and Las Palmas is by far the best location for proximity to downtown PS as well as movie star history. Within 3 blocks of the house are multiple hollywood star's homes. My family had 7 friends join us and the house was more than big enough. Our friends were quite impressed with the house. The outside area was awesome especially the range, sink and refridgerator. We even had use of the garage which kept our car cool. The bikes were a nice touch as we all used them to take a morning ride to "Koffi" for coffee. We had a couple of requests and they were taken care of immediately by the property manager. I highly recommend this home.

This is the second time I have stayed here and it is perfect. Great neighborhood, great house, wonderful pool, no problems at all. Can walk to new fun stores and restaurants, but still has a nice big kitchen to cook for ourselves as well. Can't wait to go back here again.

The Perfect House

I celebrated my birthday here with 10 of my friends and we all remarked that it was the best house we'd seen in PS. Large, comfortable, able to be both relaxing and have friends over for a day by the pool--this house has it all.

Attention to detail in a beautiful setting

The house was modern, spacious and cozy. Lots of room for privacy and plenty of party space. The pool and spa look out to the hills surrounding town. Day or night, a luxury location. Great proximity to down town and to outdoor activities. Nothing was missing! We had a party of 10 and were completely comfortable.

37th birthday with friends from San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles and Denver

We absolutely loved this house and would definitely stay here again. We started with 8 people and had 2 additional surpise visitors from San Diego, and there was plenty of room for all of us. The owners are helpful and easy to deal with and the property manager is super friendly. This is a great house for a large group, and there is plenty of privacy in the bedroom/bathroom suites. The pool and hot tub are amazing as well. We will be back for sure! Take a look at the pics....they are very accurate.

EXCELLENT. I HAVE BEEN VACATIONING IN PALM SPRINGS IN THE SUMMER FOR THE PAST 25 YEARS, AND THIS IS THE BEST PLACE YET. THE UNIT IS BEAUTIFUL, AND THE APPLIANCES ARE TOP CABIN, INCLUDING ALL THE FLAT SCREEN T.V.S. THE FANS IN THE PATIO ARE A GREAT TOUCH.

We just spent a week at this terrific house. It is really well laid out, especially for traveling with a group. Each bedroom has a private bath, which everyone loved (we were 2 couples and 2 singles, so we used all 4 bed/bath combos). It's like 4 hotel rooms. There is a large, well equipped kitchen. There is also a great television room, which also has a private bath, so it could double as a 5th bedroom/bath if needed. The outdoor space is really great - completely private, mountain views, many sitting areas, and a really cool hot tub. We're looking forward to staying here again.

winter in the desert

Palm springs came into focus as i thought about places to invite 15 friends and family members to celebrate a 50th birthday. A friend from grade school and i were turning 50 the same weekend, and Hawaii just before Christmas was too far to go. We found Villa Vespero on homeaway.com and chose it based on accomodating up to 12 very different people. We were not disappointed! The Las Palmas area of Palm Springs is the old movie colony, with beautifully landscaped, private properties an 8 hour drive from San Francisco, 5 from Phoenix and a short taxi ride from Palm Springs airport. We were met by the charming, down-to-earth and accomodatingly cool property manager and were instantly struck by the stunning landscaping, showplace-like water features, beautiful (but not overworked) decor and amazing open space indoors and out with plenty of room for a catered dinner for 20. And in the middle of the winter the temperature nearly reached 80F! Coffee (prepared in the great cuisinart coffeemaker) on the lanai in the morning was a great way to start the day, with the pool and waterfall a dreamlike foreground to the palms and brilliant sunrise on the San Jacinto mountains just over the roofline. Groups of us enjoyed 'Palm Springs nights' on a thursday at nearby downtown with the crafts vendors and a lengthy choice of restaurants; shopping at top notch Cabazon outlets 20 minutes away: hiking at Joshua Tree National Monument; playing tennis at public courts a few blocks away; and numerous other activities. Back at the villa, we enjoyed our own quarters and private baths; a great media room; preparing super buffet meals in the large, well equipped kitchen (and grilling at the outdoor kitchen area); the stellar hot spa and welcoming fireplace. The lighting, sound system and quartzite flooring made it seem an exotic getaway, even for us Californians! One of the rooms had a handicap accessible bath that was much appreciated by one of our guests. Overall, Villa Vespero was an amazing getaway for us in the middle of winter offering privacy and party capabilities. Vespero was the icing on our birthday celebration and we'd recommend it highly to family and friends alike!

We stayed at the Villa Vespero last March for my fiance's 30th birthday, what a perfect time of year to visit Palm Springs. We had a great time relaxing at the house with our friends and took a fantastic day trip to Joshua Tree to see the desert blooms. Highly Recommend a stay!!!!

We had an amazing time at Villa Vespero in April 2009. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone staying in Palm Springs. The house is located on a quiet street but still very close to the main shopping/dining area of Palm Springs.

Great place to stay

I met up with a group of friends from NZ who had found the house on line, it was as delightful as the pictures. The open plan living area and kitchen made for easy conversation. The art work and general feel of the house was great. The pool area was lovely. We did hit a bad wind storm which lead to some dirt in the pool. Unfortunately we couldn't get the pool cleaned during the weekend (although we could still swim in it). Delightfully we did get a small discount at the end of our stay so no complaints about responsiveness. While I'd stay here again one thing that was a little disturbing was an underlying odour that came through in the living area late in the evening when the doors were closed. Not unbearable but noticeable. Bedrooms were comfortable and showers well appointed.

We rented this lovely house as a spot for a reunion of college friends. It was wonderful...Lots of room, very open, with places for us all to gather, had all necessary amenities, was clean and well cared for, near to shopping, located in a quiet neighborhood. The property manager was extremely helpful with any questions or concerns. We would all recommend it highly!
