Spectacular Villa in the Centro of San Miguel de Allende, famous colonial art and cultural mecca of Mexico's highlands. The villa we call La Locura de Martin is in mint condition,sumptuously furnished and imaginatively decorated. The house has two second-floor bedrooms, each with a private bath and domed brick ceilings. There are living rooms and dining rooms indoors and outside, looking at a jewel of a garden.
Inside, the handsome contemporary living room has a garden view. A separate area for television has cable TV, VCR and DVD, along with a collection of movies and disks. The powder room is ornately tiled. In the dining room. the table has seating for eight and a captivating inside fountain. A library corner houses a computer desk with broadband internet connection for your own laptop by arrangement with the house manager. Vacation reading and travel guides on the bookshelves. The fully equipped kitchen includes purified water, microwave, dishwasher, along with ample linens, dishes, utensils. A separate laundry room is equipped with washer and dryer. Free local telephone calls on a Mexican line. Free telephone calls to US and Canada on a Vonage line.
Each level has a large terrace with attractive outdoor furniture. The covered rooftop terrace has a wet bar and refrigerator. It enjoys a 360-degree view of the town and its many domes and spires, with stunning sunsets and twinkling lights.
An exquisitely private Shangri-La hidden behind its own high walls, with vibrant old Mexico outside, close to galleries, museums, theater, music, dance performances, lectures,fine dining, artisans market and parks, all in walking distance with no hills to climb. An excellent Spanish-language school is just around the corner. Tennis, golf, swimming, horseback riding, bird watching, hiking, nature walks and hot springs nearby. Full-time housekeeper/cook and gardener supplied. Full-time house manager on call. Sorry, no pets, no smoking.

Rate Details (In US Dollars)

50% non-refundable deposit to reserve.
Balance is due 45 days before arrival.
Fully refundable breakage/telephone security of $300 is required.
Cancellation policy: Final payment minus $100 will be returned

We had such a wonderful time! The location was perfect and the house delightful. The house was immaculate! The windows were so clean that I had a hard time knowing whether they were open or not. We used the roof garden every night. It was the first time I had a "normal" staircase going up to it. (most had narrow stairs or worse the metal circular kind that were hard to get up, let alone carry food or wine) If you have a chance I would love to know the story of the round architecture. Did you buy it that way, design it, or was it the builder's idea? My friend said it was the only house she's seen that she could just move in and not change a thing--and that includes the Sunday house tours! It was elegant without being over the top, had great comfortable places to read, and a kitchen that invites you to stay and cook something great. Thank you for letting us share your beautiful oasis.
