Why the Owner Chose Burgess Creek
Carol was born near Steamboat Springs and her father was the District Attorney in a three-county area, including Routt County. After moving to the front range at a young age, she often returned to the Yampa Valley to visit friends and family there. The old saying that once you've laid eyes on the beautiful valley you will be forever destined to return is true. Carol and John first bought property in Steamboat in 1990 and will always hold the magic of the area in their hearts.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The whole family loves to ski, ride, sled; you name it. There is no other snow like the famous Champagne Powder that falls on Storm Mountain, aka Mount Werner. But equally wonderful are the warm-weather activities which abound in the area: camping; hiking; fishing; mountain biking; tubing; soaking in the hot springs; sipping a lemonade on the bank of the Yampa River. It's a special place and our home on Burgess Creek Road is so conveniently located it allows easy access to all these activities.
Owner's Map of Burgess Creek
John and Carol and their two children are Colorado natives and enjoy all their beautiful state has to offer. The whole family enjoys the winter activities in the Steamboat area as well as camping, mountain biking, and tubing the Yampa River in the warm summer months.

My family stayed last week with my brother and sister in law who live in Boulder. Accommodations were better than represented by the photos. Close to everything yet far enough away to feel secluded in the woods.A great week !

We just returned from our trip to Steamboat and had a wonderful time. If you've never been to Steamboat before, the location is great if you don't need to walk to the Gondola. Close to the lifts, markets and town - Burgess Creek rocks. The house is spacious and well designed for two families or a large, multi-generational family. The upgraded bathrooms and kitchen were a nice surprise. The kitchen is the best stocked of any rental I've seen and allows for multiple cooks in the kitchen at once. It really does comfortably sleep the numbers advertised and the house offers multiple zones and plenty of space for large or smaller groups to gather, depending on favorite activities. Also,we really appreciated the wireless Internet as we had teenagers and the temps were pretty cold towards the end of the week. The house was clean and the hot tub in great working condition. This is definitely a vacation rental HOME, not just a house. Next time we have a large group, we'll be back. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

What an unbelievable vacation home this is! We have stayed at Burgess Creek lodge three times now, and always look forward to our next visit. The new kitchen is fabulous - both functional and beautiful! What a great place to come home to after a day of skiing, with the dual-facing fireplace and the huge hot tub overlooking Burgess Creek. During the warmer seasons, it's so nice to open the windows and hear the sound of the creek all through the lodge. We've stayed many places in Steamboat over the last 22 years, and nothing quite compares to this!

I've stayed at this house a couple of times and it's hard to beat! While spacious, this place has a very warm, cozy feel. My favorite feature is the central 2-sided fireplace. In addition, the location is very convenient. I love staying here!

We have stayed at Burgess Creek Lodge on several occasions. The lodge is very comfortable and the landscapes are stunning. The new kitchen and bathrooms Rock! In the winter the downhill skiing is the best around and crosscountry skiing is just a little walk up to the National forest boundries. In winter you can ski or just sit in the warm window seat and read a book or stare out the window at the beautiful views. In summer there are endless activities including biking, hiking and tubbing down the Yampa river. My favorite is just sitting on the lower deck in the adirondack chairs watching the creek flow by. My family has been coming up to the lodge for 9 years.

I have stayed here many times, and it is a wonderful place to stay. The hot tub is great. It's close to both Thunderhead life and the Gondola, and I high recommend it to anyone.

Our first stay at Burgess Creek Lodge in Steambat Springs was the beginning of a yearly tradition for our family that includes this spectacular vacation home. The house is beautifully appointed, has a fabulous hot tub, comfortable beds and one of the best equipped kitchens of any mountain rental we have ever booked. It is surrounded by forest, on the creek and feels very secluded but it is actually close to shopping and restaurants. Best of all it is on the route for the shuttle that picked us and all our ski gear up and returned us to our front door every day of the week. As Coloradans we have had the pleasure of staying at most of our state's resort areas ad Burgess Creek Lodge is our all time favorite.
