Our casually elegant home “Coastal Breezes”, offers you a jaw-dropping ocean view and the unique location offers the utmost privacy. It is perfect for a secluded romantic getaway. Almost every room in this predominately glass home captures the most spectacular ocean views imaginable.
Our home is located in the beautiful Rancho Costa Verde Estates (RCVE) in Escaleras on the Pacific Coast between Dominical and Uvita. It is a private community of estate lots created by long-time developers who are committed to reforesting and re-establishing wildlife corridors throughout the property. There is plenty of wildlife both on our 20 acres and throughout the rest of RCVEs 1200 acres. Watch for toucans, parrots, white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys, jaguarundis, pizotes, peccaries, hummingbirds, morpho butterflies , sloths, and much more.
We call our home "Coastal Breezes" for good reason. With the nearly constant gentle ocean breezes in the daytime and the mountain breezes at night, you will be pleasantly surprised at the comfortable temperature which is generally 7 degrees cooler than at sea level. Just slide open all the glass doors and windows and enjoy outdoor tropical living at its finest. There are also ceiling fans in the bedrooms, kitchen and living area.
The house is only one year old and was designed to maximize the spectacular views from every room. It sits on the Fila Costena, the ridge closest to the ocean on the entire Pacific coast of Coast Rica. It’s reminiscent of Big Sur on the central coast of California but with a tropical flair. The house comfortably sleeps 4 with 2 bedrooms, and the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep. There is an additional comfy 8’ long couch in the living area and a blow up mattress can be obtained upon request. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove/oven and all the associated cookware and cutlery. You can dine inside or out, either way you’ll feel like you're suspended in air and you’ll be surrounded by nature. You can shower inside or perhaps you'd prefer the outside shower nestled in the jungle, just one step outside the main bathroom.
Only 15 minutes to the closest beach, you may want to try kayaking, surfing, bodysurfing or horseback riding at the beach. Other activities include visiting Nauyaca Falls on horseback, scuba diving or snorkeling at Isla Ballena or Cano Island, or deep sea fishing. Some prefer kayaking the mangroves of the Terraba River or paddling into wave cut caves along the coast. You can walk out to the tip of the Whale’s Tail at low tide from Ballena National Park or to hidden coves and expansive beaches up and down the coast. At Hacienda Baru you can sail through the jungle on a zip line or take a bird watching or canopy tour. Wherever you go, don’t forget your camera and binoculars. That includes if you decide to just relax on the terrace and watch for whales or have cocktails.

I can help you by arranging for an airport pick up, get you a discount car rental, book your tours, acquire additional housekeeping, and arrange for a fabulous soothing massage on the front terrace as you gaze at the wild blue Pacific. Just ask. I'll be far enough away for your utmost privacy, but close enough for your convenience.
Don’t forget your laptop. You can access the internet wirelessly (512K download) from any room in the house. There is a comfortable desk area or perhaps you’d prefer the front terrace looking out over the ocean.
Lastly, remember, if you choose Coastal Breezes, you will be staying in my home. That means when you aren't living here, I will be. Consequently, Coastal Breezes is well kept and has all the comforts of home....except you'll be in paradise!

Why the Owner Chose Dominical
I choose to build in this area for several reasons. First, the ocean view just can't be beat, it's drop dead gorgeous. I also love nature and I'm surrounded by it here. Unlike the beach areas, I don't have to deal with mosquitos and many other biting insects that are far more prevalent near the water, but I still get to enjoy this incredible ocean view, and even hear the waves roll in. The nearly constant ocean or mountain breeze keeps me cooler here, it's anywhere from 5-10 degrees cooler which means no air conditioning is needed. Lastly, I love my privacy and peace and quiet. If you want to get away from the fast lane, or perhaps have a romantic get away, this is the place.
