It is uniquely appointed with a dramatic skylight in the bedroom suite, original subway tile throughout the kitchen, shower, and restroom, solid inlaid oak doors with transom windows, decorative hardware and a private doorway to the courtyard garden.
The cottage may be rented in addition to the main house, The Waldburg, for weddings, family reunions, etc.

Why the Owner Chose Savannah
When I traveled thru Savannah in 1994 for the first time, I immediately fell in love with the City. I knew then that I wanted to own a piece of history. I also knew I wanted it to be on Forsyth Park, as it`s just like Central Park in NY. Of course so did everyone else. When the opportunity finally arose in 2000 to acquire the historic George Hummel House it was a dream come true.
After nearly 8 years of renovation it`s restored to it`s former beauty. Come and experience History.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Our home is conveniently located in the heart of Savannah’s downtown landmark historic district overlooking Forsyth Park. Guests can easily walk to our beautiful green squares & other historic sites. There are many shops and fine restaurants within a few minutes walk.We have off-street parking , so you don`t have to wrry about those pesky parking meters. Most of our guests park there car and never use while here.

The line for lunch forms early so get there early. Still a local favorite restaurant with southern comfort food served family style. You have to take your own plate to the kitchen!

We are Roman and Manderly. I`m a jack of all trades and Manderly is a licensed Massage Therapist. I`m from Germany and Manderly is from here. I`ve been traveling all my Life and have been all over the world and have to say that Savannah is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The history, architecture, and local culture of Savannah are all unique. What better way to experience the architecture and history of Savannah than staying in a beautiful historic home? I really can't think of any.

We travel all over the world and stayed in many Hotels and Inns, but lately we started staying in vacation rentals. They`re just nicer than and offer a lot more space. This was the most unique and charming Home we have stayed to date. The Home has skylights and built in window seats !! My husband loved sitting there and reading the newspaper, while keeping an eye on the activities in the park across the road. The park was wonderful, we walked around it every morning, it reminded us of Central park back home. Stop by at Sentien bean coffee shop for their wonderful coffees from all over the world . The vibe there was great. We felt like locals. We will be back and next time we`ll stay for a week to explore it all. Thank you Manderly for being such a great hostess. Roslyn & Ted

It was great to arrive in Savannah after a long drive and settle into the cozy Carriage House..... full of old world charm but with all the modern amenities. Lovely! Savannah didn't disappoint either! City Market and River Street were fun to walk around. Don't miss Tybee Island...... the lighthouse, ice cream on the pier etc. Also loved doing the walk you suggested on your website.... a walk back in time! Fascinating. Hope to be back someday.

What a cozy place this is, and right next to the park! We have really enjoyed staying here and love walking around the park and Historic Squares. Savannah is beautiful and unique. Loved having coffee and croissants every morning across the road. Also City Market and River Street.... lots of goodies to eat and buy! We'll be back! Miriam Snyder

This is the most lovely little carriage house and at a fabulous location right across the street from Forsythe Park. WE had a wonderful time at the cottage and in Savannah. We would highly recommend staying at Jeanne Marie's carriage house. Don't forget to eat key lime pie at Firefly Cafe, eat a Huey's on the River, and also make the short trek out to Sweet Peas for fabulous food! Would visit again in a heartbeat!
