I put down a deposit for this beautiful home last year to stay in the Spring. Unfortunately, we could not make it because of several unexpected negative events. I asked the homeowners if they had a cancellation policy. They very kindly responded that if they could rent it out, they would return our deposit. Someone rented it, and our check was returned. It was very generous of them to go to the trouble of renting it to someone else, and returning our deposit. I think there are a lot of homeowners that would not return the deposit. I am very grateful that they were good people that returned the deposit. I had a great experience with the homeowners. I am really hoping I will be able to stay there soon!!

The Pink Haus certainly delivers on location! It may be on the main Estero Blvd but it is well set back from the road with a charming driveway with many plants and flowers, which cast shade on the front porch seating area. It is VERY quiet at this property. The back of the house has the most amazing views of the Gulf and a stretch of beach that sees few people apart from walkers passing by. Bohemian in style the interior is much larger than the outside suggests. Although there was only two of us I can see how a larger group would fit in well. Many seating options on the back deck would make for a fun atmosphere with a good gathering of friends and family. We spent ALL the time at the house either in bed asleep or on the deck! It is so relaxing to sit there for breakfast and taking an early beach stroll or for dinner, watching the sun go down. We hardly used the inside of the house at all. Never switched on the TV, never cooked a meal - just sat looking at the view and listening to the waves. So why not 5 stars? I have a real problem with bed linens and towels that are not at hotel standard in rental properties. Everything in the house was clean, lots of utensils, comfortable bed, great shower, etc and the linens and towels were freshly laundered, just looking a bit worn. Light coloured bedding and towels are a MUST when renting and washed in stains and holes are not very welcoming.

We are a family of 6 persons who stayed fore a week. Location is beautiful. House contains lizzards and cockroached indoor. We removed lizzards 6 times in kitchen and bathroom and cockroaches twice. We never unpacked but kept our suitcases closed at all times. We also kept windows and doors closed. Never the less there were a dead lizzard in our suicase when we unpacked at our next home on our 3 week journey. House was not very clean. We were offered a vist from a pestcontrol, but declined because of the chemistry involved. One of the bedrooms had a seperate aircon. Very noisy as it was we had to leave the room and squize in the remaining beds. The terrasse towards the sea was a big advantage, compared to the rest. All in all not at very pleasant expirience with the house. Our recommandation would be to find another house.

Owner response: Florida in summer is very humid and geckos ( family of lizard ) and palmetto bugs are very common in such climate. Geckos are very usefull as they go after Mosquitos and smaller bugs. To prevent them from being inside the homes you need to excercise pest control regularly, which we do every once a month, keep the doors closed and run the air conditioning. Even then you may come across few. We are renting our beach front house already for third year and never had serious complain in that respect. It may be that clients coming from more sterile countries are less tolerant to this kind of things. Beside, if suitcase was never opened and in next location they found dead lizard in it, than it must have come from previous location.

Our family likes to come together for one week during summer to enjoy easy beach living. We love Ft. Myers Beach because it is casual, laid back, beautiful beaches, and fine seafood. This year we came across the Pink Haus and we were happy to be able to bring our dogs with us. It was absolutely great! The house has a bohemian beach style, all amenities we are accustomed to, it is cozy and so comfortable. The location is unsurpassed - you must try the Heavenly Buscuit for real yummy breakfasts. I highly recommend this house. My entire family including our dogs had a really good time. We hope to make the Pink Haus part of our yearly summer tradition!

We love this house. This was our third Thanksgiving there. We invite friends and family to join us for a couple of nights and the house easily accomodates all. But the best feature, by far, is the deck. You've got the view of the beach and the solitude of an expansive yard with coconut palms. Absolutely lovely. Grocery and gym are in walking distance - next year, we're just going to rent bikes instead of renting a car. (we only used the car to get back and forth to the airport).

If you are looking for a wonderful, relaxing vacation this is the place. The house sits back just a little from the road and the beach so you have privacy but unobstructed views. Having the palm trees and sea oats in front of the house adds a little tropical feel to the already great location. Comfortable beds and nice kitchen with plenty of seating. The house is equiped with everything you will need . We had seven people in our group and had plenty of space and privacy. The owners are very helpful and will take care of any issues that you may have. One of our favorite things about this house is the deck. The pictures don't do it justice. You are able to walk to Times Square and many places to eat. The sandbar in front of the house is a great afternoon hangout. Being able to take our dogs was another plus for us. I want to thank you for opening your home to us. We loved everything.

My husband and I (and our 2 dogs) stayed at the Pink Beach House over the Christmas holiday. The location could not have been better. The house is set back off the main road so you don't hear the cars driving by. It is also on the beach but set back with landscaping which makes laying out on the deck private. The beach was white powder and everytime you walked the beach you always found some kind of unique shells. We saw dolphins 2 days in a row which was awesome. The house was clean, warm and comfortable and the owner's were so friendly and helpful. We plan on coming back this spring and can't wait.

My friends and I absolutely loved our stay at the "Pink Haus." From the very beginning I could tell that Silvia and Marjan were wonderful people. We felt so at home at the Pink House. It was extremely clean and inviting. I can't recall how many times we spent out on the front deck, and it was difficult to do anything else but lay on the large comfortable couch on the covered porch. The beach is wonderfully close. If you're looking for a typical commercialized place- this is not your place. If you are looking for a charming place to call home away from home-this is definately the place. I miss it already. Thank you Silvia and Marjan for opening your home to us!

This beautiful home (more than just a house) was exactly as described on the website. From the moment we arrived and met our charming hosts we were enchanted with the eclectic and comfortable surroundings as well as the best location on Fort Myers Beach. The home was spotless and when Silvia and Marjon gave us a little tour and then invited us to feel free to use their beach towels, condiments, spices, etc. we felt like guests instead of renters. They were also very helpful in recommending a friend of theirs who could assist us in finding property on the island as that was the reason for our visit. The back porch was where we spent most of our time when we weren't on the beach. This porch was huge, partly covered, and fitted with furniture so comfortable, it was like sitting in a living room on a beach! The location of this home was perfect...far enough away from the crowds near Times Square, but close enough to walk to it. The trolley that runs in front of the home eliminated the need to drive so we were able to sample many of the bars and restaurants on Estero without a designated driver. We'll always remember our week there as one of the best vacations ever and wish to thank Silvia and Marjon for their generousity and kindness. We'll be back!

I chose this home because of the laid back appearance in the photos. They were right on target. This home is a perfect beach house. It is so beautifully eclectic. The art work and interior design is old world and a bit "hippy dippy" The porches on both the front and back of the home were so inviting that we often spent time in both places. Of course the beach as the backyard is the gem! To wake up and look directly at the beautiful gulf water and to feel the breeze through the house was surreal. The back porch however was the most coveted spot. It’s perfect for napping. We found ourselves repeating " I don't want to leave" and " I could die here" The "old" pink home (its not just a house) is located on Estero blvd. walking distance to the Topps supermarket and 1 mile to Publix. It is less than a mile from the San Marco Bridge. It is about a 20 min. walk on the beach to the pier and the town shops at the foot of the bridge. The home is set back from the busy street so you never feel like you are right on the road. The third room has its own entrance and bathroom. It is so comfortable and easy to live in. The owners could not have been more hospitable and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful, well loved, home. We will be back. Warning: This home is for the TRUE BEACH LOVER. It’s not for the tile floor, granite loving perfectionist.
