Casa Mar Vista (literally: Ocean View) truly lives up to its name.
Nestled among mature trees on a hill above Samara bay, the breathtaking vista spans roughly 180 degrees of ocean view. From Playa Carrillo to the left, all the way to Playa Buena Vista in the far distance to the right, the sparkling Pacific Ocean is a constant accompaniment during your vacation at Casa Mar Vista.
The house itself affords one of the best views of Samara bay that can be found. While relaxing on the comfortable couch in the Living Room, blue ocean waters can be seen everywhere.
You can see Isla Chora where adventurous tourists stop by every day while kayaking, as well as the local fishermen as they pull into or out of the bay in their pangas and fishing boats to bring home the catch of the day. If you were a photographer, you wouldn’t be able to arrange a picture any more pleasing to the eye than this.
No matter where you look, there is always something beautiful just in front of you.
Casa Mar Vista is centered around a huge living space which boasts 22 ft. ceilings made of tropical hardwood. The open floor design of the living room integrates the kitchen and dining area and also allows for easy access to the outdoor dining area.
The overall design facilitates natural airflow and keeps the temperature inside the house comfortable at any time – a tribute to Costa Rica’s eco-friendliness.
The three bedrooms offer various views, ranging from the blue expanse of the ocean to the yard with its variety of tropical plants. Two of the bedrooms are en suite while the third bedroom has a bathroom adjacent to it. The Master Bedroom is equipped with A/C; ceiling fans are available in all bedrooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all standard appliances - including an ice maker (built into the fridge) a blender, and a coffee maker. A BBQ area is located adjacent to the outdoor dining area.
At Casa Mar Vista, you will have access to complimentary Wi-Fi Broadband internet as well as Satellite TV with over 200 channels of entertainment - mostly in English.
The grounds are extensive and ensure your privacy. Walking paths invite you to stroll about and rest on some of the benches along the way to observe the local wildlife. Howler Monkeys and various other animals such as Coati, Aricari (a Toucan variety), and parrots regularly visit the gardens.
A short stroll (roughly ten minutes) along a quiet road takes you right to the beach, while walking along the the crescent-shaped beach just a bit farther will lead you into town.
Please note: Our adorable "guard" dog (Piti) will happily eat your scraps. Piti is a stray who showed up at the house roughly three years ago - very close to dying. We took heart and nursed her back to health - and, understandably, she never left. She is a very independent dog and comes and goes as she pleases. Piti requires no attention or care from you - other than the courtesy of a cup of kibble once a day. Piti has shown herself to be a loving, kind, and playful animal that previous renters have simply loved. However, unless you pay attention to her, she will most likely not be around. If you have any concerns, please contact us.

We are back from Costa Rica, now and I wanted to tell you how much we all loved staying at your house. Piti was a great little mascot to have around. We all enjoyed her, and took her on a few walks with us. We never took her to the beach, because we were always combining that with some other excursion. We know she was disappointed about that. The house was perfect in every way. We just loved it. There was a thunderstorm almost everyday, but thankfully no power outages. We enjoyed watchng the rain come across the water and finally making it to the house. We loved the openness of the house and the monkey family in the trees behind. We loved everything!
